I thought everyone's show dances let them down in some way. None of them were a patch on Tom Chambers'. Louis was going to win anyway.
I couldn't abide Tom CHambers..Rachel wuz robbed Anyhow, I'm thrilled win the outcome. Love Louis and Flavia

Kimbo's showdance was wild, messy, not great, but great fun.

It didn't make a hap'orth of difference.

She could have done a PERFECT one, and it wouldn't have mattered, truly.

Louis had the votes.

Has had for a long time. Kimbers did damned well. Be pleased.

I know it's hard (Rachel fan, and I think she was like loads better than Kim and still lost to the popular man).

Tom might not have been as good a dancer as Rachel but his show dance was the best ever! No one's show dance stood out for me tonight.

I think her showdance was the least impressive of the 3 who went through to the second part, and gave Louis the momentum to win.
Nah, Louis looked like he was going to win from the very beginning of the final show. He was in top form tonight. Okay, his charleston wasn't as good as Denise' (or Kim's last week's effort), but it was clearl Kim and Denise wasn't going to win. They were both in the bottom two (Denise twice, Kim once), so...

I did see Pasha did a near-miss in the showdance though...

Enjoyed the final and I was hoping Kimberley might win but their show dance did not wow me. The flashing lights behind them only helped to make it look disjointed and scruffy but her other dances were magic and with those she did herself proud.

Kimberley's judges choice dance was more of a problem than her showdance, I think, it totally killed her momentum, and if she had something like her AS or her fusion to do she'd have been in with a shot. Denise never stood a chance of winning the public vote, and Louis upped his game tonight in a more flashy way than Kimberley, who's dances didn't really allow her to perform in the same way, I'm sad she kind of finished on that note compared to how incredible she's been recently.

A barely under control bit of disco with chunks of a Beyonce routine thrown in

At the end of the day the final was purely a popularity contest

I enjoyed her showdance. It made such a pleasant contrast with the others.

She looked amazing in it and gave it more welly than any of the others, yes it was a bit free and Pasha messed up one of the lifts but showdances are always random. Dani's was also messy but she got away with it less because the song and routine were quite serious.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone look so cool in a trouser suit as Kimble, I almost wish she'd kept it on.

Yep.

He could have danced the macarana and the birdy song and a lot of people still would have voted for him, as long as he got his shirt off a few times..

Lol, that cracked me up

I thought her dance was far too frantic. It made it look messy. The need to cram as much as possible in made it look over done & scrappy rushing from one move to the next.
Denise's was a tad frantic too but the lifts were just fantastic & she looked great.
Danni's was good, but not as special as I had hoped.I think her nerves really did show & the choreography could have been better.
Louis's was calm & collected & perfect.

I agree with the OP, Kimberley's showdance just didn't measure up to Louis or Denise's efforts. It was a bit scrappy and the lifts were a little clumsy and awkward.

All the polls leading up to the final showed that it was between Louis and Kimberley and ultimately Louis did a better job on the night.

I don't agree that Louis would have won anyway, the final dances and the showdance in particular make a big difference. Denise was a long way behind Dani in terms of popularity at the start of the show but she danced well enough to finish ahead of her. If Pasha had come up with the right choreography and Kimberley had nailed it there is no doubt they could have won.

Her showdance was a mess. I thought Pasha would have learnt from last year?

Her showdance was totally lacking in any cohesion I felt. There didn't seem to be any thread connecting it whereas the others had something that had an identity.
I agree - it was a bit messy. Would have gone down very well in previous years, though.

Actually it made me just go and look at Alesha and Matt's Cha-Cha-Cha.

Louis winning was a foregone conclusion and would have happened even if Kimberley had done the best showdance ever seen on Strictly. Personally I preferred her showdance to Louis's. I felt his was a bit too gymnastic and didn't have enough ballroom/latin dance content with 'wow' factor. The contemporary style of his routine was too understated to have 'impact'. Denise's was by far the most impressive of the three but it didn't seem to do anything for her.

I loved her show dance and thought it was the most different of the night, Denise also absolutely smashed her show dance and was amazing, but I thought what helped was that James did a lot of the work in lifting her so many times. Louise's was good but it was an unfair advantage to him as he is a gymnast, so doing all the acrobatics at the start and lifting Flavian were going to be easy for him, the only one dancing was Flavia in the Argentine tango bits, all Louise did was stand in hold to assist her.

I love Kimberley but her showdance was a big mess wasn't it? She couldn't win after that.

The transitions in and out of lifts looked ugly. Kimberley doesn't have enough rhythm to pull off a Beyonce routine.

You love Kimberley?

Yet you described her as the blandest one from Girls Aloud in a thread you created a week ago

It is possible to love bland people. Not everyone likes 'in you face' people.
