You can't deny the popular vote but it would still be good to know just how popular he was in the country and what the demographic voting for him looked like.”

Someone mentioned in a post somewhere too that he got more than the other 3 combined in the voting figures too but I don't know how accurate that is.

Going on You Tube views him and Flavia are WAY ahead of the other 3 in every round so IF these figures are an indicator of public votes, then they probably won by a huge margin.

Judges choice

Denise & James : Jive - 6,475
Dani & Vincent : Tango - 3,388
Kimberley & Pasha : VW - 5,449
Louis and Flavia : Salsa - 16,087 (about the same as the other 3 combined)

Showdances

Denise & James - 23,675
Dani & Vincent - 7,910
Kimberley & Pasha - 47,293
Louis & Flavia - 101,178 (More than the other 3 combined PLUS add about another 20,000)

Own choice

Denise & James : Charleston - 9,227
Kimberley & Pasha : Tango - 6,921
Louis & Flavia : Charleston - 25,539 (More than the other two combined PLUS add another 9,000)

I think the point was it's more or less half and half between people who think Louis was the right winner and people who don't think he was the right winner. Who else they wanted to win is irrelevant for the question the OP asked.

It was all down to the showdance as if it often is.

Louis was not my favourite, but his showdance nailed it for him.

No Kimberley or Denise should have won, throughout the series they have been the best dancers, before the final Louis was the weakest dancer left. He only won with the "London 2012" tag and he was the "Chosen One"

That's why Louis looked so underwhelmed when it was announced he'd won. Flavia looked more happy than he did.

Still, at least it saved the public of putting up with one of the girls (if heaven forbid, either had been announced as winners) screaming with delight & jumping on their partner, followed by the indignity of being told to calm down.

Merry Christmas to all my readers!

Louis was always going to win.

And he acquitted himself well in the final, so that felt okay.

I find myself disappointed that Louis did so many gymnastic tricks in all three of his final dances, but hey ho.

Since I never thought anyone else would win, I'm not disappointed, and am pleased that it seemed, reasonable all things considered, at the end.

On the night, yes but I just didn't find myself warming to him like some of the other contestants. I would have preferred to see less gymnastics too but thats probably just me.

Merry christmas to everyone reading this

Overall, I wanted Nicky & Karen to win - some of you may have guessed that already!!!

Of the finalists, I tried to forget about previous dances and, as I was not supporting any of them per se, wanted the best dancers on the night to win. As they finished in the following order (IMO)

Denise
Kimberley
Louis
Dani

then I will have to say that the right couple did not win the Glitterball. Denise was the most deserving on the night and should have won.

I only watched the final......although I did watch the majority of the Denise and Kimberly`s dances on YT last night....So I sat down to watch the final with no pre-conceived expectations...On the night imo Denise edged it...although if I`am honest I would have been happy with any of the top three taking the winners crown....Did the right person win...well obviously yes..It`s a public vote.
