Good point, was going to say the same thing myself.

I'd have preferred if it was him who had buggered off and let everyone celebrate together. What a prat.”

I too thought it was disgusting - also rude and arrogant. How sad that the last few minutes of what has been a wonderful series ended like that. It really was a terrible way to finish - and as others have pointed out not the first time. I felt embarrassed for everyone - using that tone of voice was just horrible!

First i was upset about louis winning, then brucie had to come and do that and ruin the whole moment even more! It's great when all the couples huddle together and share that moment, worst end to a final.

Hi Glinny, after losing my husband in October this year, I found it actually very sick to read. Death shouldn't be used as an anecdote x glad you saw the sick side of it too.

Maybe he knew that Flavia and Louis wanted to do their big lift again if they won so he was making room?

Was he really clearing the background for Tess and his final camera shot or just for L & F to have their final dance?

Well why didn't he allow the winners to have their moment of glory..he cleared the floor for him and Tess to speak to camera. Moreover even his most ardent fans could not call his presenting style as "excellent". Painful more like. He really showed himself up for the self centered narky old egoist he is. Shameful behaviour, and I don't care what age he is, no presenter should behave like that. I was truly gobsmacked

I was too and the first thing I thought was that will give his critics something else now to complain about. I said earlier, I'm a fan but it was out of order.

Couldn't agree more! With him trying to hog the limelight all the time, he's a hindrance, rather than an asset, to the show. It's not called Strictly Come Bruce. Time for a new presenter!

Well said - they let SPOTY overrun by some margin last week, what was to stop them doing it tonight. For me, Sir Bruce's actions left a sour taste

Bruce needs to sort out this with the floor manager in the future imho before we get to Strictly's 2013 home.

And his rudeness and 'jokes' to both Bruno and Craig are unfunny and extraordinarily rude. A truly diabolical performance. And of course Tess was seeing how fast she could talk... and then the GBP voted the worst of the three dances to win. Sad.

It was as if the happy pills he must have taken before the show when he was crying with laughter at his own joke about Anton at the beginning had well and truly worn off by the end. From one extreme to the other over the course of a couple of hours.

I think we've probably all been in a situation socially before where we've seen somebody turn and it's uncomfortable, but you don't expect to see it on an entertainment programme - the whole point of watching, well was for me and sure for lots, was to escape the stresses of life.

Maybe they don't rehearse the presentation that well, or do but don't do it with the other contestants present.
But as previous posters have said - that would be the fault of the floor manager”

Yes, he did, I can remember it well, tonight was even worse, he couldnt handle it and was rude when telling people to back off.

A sour note from a sour old man which could have spoiled a wonderful programme.

The point is he could've been more polite or even jokey to the contestants (something like 'hang on, you'll get your chance' or just plain 'stand well back'), but he went off on one & was downright rude. His tone was really shitty.

Breathtakingly rude. Last year the McFlea bandmates deserved a right scolding from Brucie but this year the celebs were sent in by the producers? So what's wrong with them hugging and congratulating the winners?

Why do they have to rush the end anyway. Allow a couple of more minutes for everyone to enjoy it, including the viewer.
I often find Bruce abrubt to the point of rudeness anyway. He labours his lame jokes and then cuts off other peoples comments. Time to retire.

Embarrassing much.

Yes, some comments related to his age when we should have referred purely to his incompetence. Excellent? I think not and it's not poisonous to express an opinion that his actions were not only unnecessary but disruptive to the overall mood. I like a bit of spontaneous celebration myself and see no reason why I should be ashamed or embarrassed for saying that I believe his actions spoiled what had been a superb final. Freedom of speech 'n' all that...”

There are some who have taken those comments too far - one in particular. There are also limits to freedom of speech. I agree with you about being entitled to opinions but not to the degree where a reference to near death is used as a throwaway comment. Before tonight, I thought Bruce should ignore his critics and stay on but not now. I certainly won't be nasty about his age though.

As if we haven't seen enough of that wrinkled old face for the last three months.”

And maybe the also ran's should stop behaving like meerkats on acid and allow the winners to have their final last dance for a few minutes.

I wanted to see the winners not a bunch of rowdy muppets trampling each other to look like good losers
