This keeps on happening. Why do they not sort out the protocol for this so that it works properly and Bruce does not decide to interfere ?

Bruce's time is up!

He was rude and unnecessary tonight.

I'd have preferred if it was him who had buggered off and let everyone celebrate together. What a prat.”

It was ridiculous but also very funny......I remeber hom shooing John Seargant off the stage as well a few years back telling him its not all about you.....In fairness Bruce is just old school and likes to see things done proper as he sees it i.e as the rehearsals went lol

Why bring all the contestants on if they are going to be treated like that? Presumably SCD rehearsed the final result / presentation - didn't look like it. Brucie just doesn't know how to behave when he doesn't have an autocue in front of him and telling one of his 'jokes' isn't appropriate.

Brucie amuses me, annoys me, makes me laugh, embarrasses me, and makes me laugh.

He's like a constant in my life, like some of my relations, and not.

He's brilliant and a bit dodgy, I like that, because it's forgiven because of his status and his age (or should be).

Who would be better, someone who is neither warm or oddly wrong sometimes? A presentational clone?

I DON'T want that, they are so boring.

Or someone who is young but tries to be a bit 'exciting' - that could be cringier, and horrible.

I'm fond of the 'family' 'ridiculous' 'a bit odd' vibe that the Strictly team have, because it's Strictly - it's Ballroom and Latin, damned uncool, mixed ages, dubious tastewise and FUN.

I will ALWAYS take the rough with the smooth with Bruce, this is a totally cross generational show, and the old love it, just as the middle aged and the young do.

He doesn't have to be 'relevant' what the HELL does that even really mean?

The audience understand him, and it's a large audience, and he's fine.

Hooray! Hope it's true!”

The front pages of the Sunday papers have The Daily Star Sunday showing a large photo of Bruce with the words "I'm Off" no new contract for Strictly star. Read my full interview inside.

The Sunday Express has a photo of him saying "I'm not going to retire" see page 3.

Hopefully Sky News and The Daily Star are right and the Sunday Express wrong. He is everything that is wrong about Strictly, and being old is no excuse for rudeness and bad manners and bad temper. As far as I'm concerned your character does not change with age, you just don't hide it so well.

DM also reporting that he won't be retiring.

I did think when he was asking everyone to stand back was so that he could make an announcement about it.

I'd have liked to have seen the celebs expressions when he barked orders at them. Darcy looked the most embarrassed. I hate that bit at the end when he gets angry with the way they dance together as well at the end of each Saturday show. Its really awful the way he shouts and stamps and gestures, I always cringe as the credits end.

The fact that he is saying that he isn't going to retire is a mark of his lack of insight - it's easy to see how the panel (Len in particular) are sick of him. His autocue reading skills are getting worse and Tess is struggling to deflect his incompetence. If he doesn't go soon he is going to make a fool of himself.

He's going to? He's already making a right fool of himself tonight! He can't even read the names of the finalists, and keep pronouncing Pasha's surname slightly wrong. Hopeless fool!

People have the right to an opinion, and the general opinion is that Bruce Forsyth lost the plot tonight. It is'nt ageist, the man is way past his prime, he is'nt funny, his jokes are so old and so transparent it is an embassessment. Tess Daly, at times, looks very uncomfortable around him. The man is an egotistical idiot who will not grow old gracefully.

Len looked sick n tired of him throughout this series, bruno looks puzzled and tess was lost with him tonight.

Get the old coot off the show we've put up with him long enough and he really spoilt the end of the series, the senile git.

he has no god given right to present this and do what he wants just because he's been on TV for ever.

go and retire and leave us alone prune face.

I totally agree, he was so rude, I don't mind him, but it is time for him to retire, he is stale now, new younger person required.

It is not most people grandfathers professions to be on live tv presenting a show to millions of viewers therefore most would not have any reason to be spoken about like that.

Also in this instance you have to remember that Bruce is meant to be a professional and in the opinion of many of the viewers tonight (obviously many who post here and I can't speak for every SCD viewer) he lost all sense of professionalism.

It its this and numerous other instances of loss of professionalism from him in this series and in other series that have led people to express such outrage against him.

I do have to agree that I think it is time for him to retire. I'm sure there are plenty of other good presenters out there who would jump at the chance of getting a shot at presenting SCD
