Very strange, from the first moment they appeared - they both looked very pale and lacking in energy. Wonder if either or both were unwell, or just knackered and peaked too soon? They were balls of energy until this week.
That said, I thought this was a SUPERB final and all four were very worthy finalists. I thought the production was fabulous and the BBC should be proud.

I think the nerves seemed to get to her, like Chelsee last year.

Nerves. She was nervous last week too

Exactly what I was thinking.

The showdance - she looked awkward - some of those lifts and moves were messy. Tonight, imo, she was non-descript and I wasn't surprised she went first.

All the commuting to York for panto rehearsal wouldn't have helped either.

I was supporting Dani and Vincent but they weren't on top of their game tonight which is a shame.
I put it down to nerves too, plus I think the Showdance was overly ambitious when they hadn't been ones for lifts and tricks throughout the series.

They did well to be finalists though, and 4th is more than respectable

I just think she was absolutely petrified

I was quite surprised that Vincent didn't looked shocked, upset or surprised to have come 4th - it was as if he knew (in a non conspiracy way).

Dani was out of sorts, overwhelmed by the occasion, and it was bitterly disappointing to see.

It's not all about the final though - it's also about how people got there - and Dani & Vincent gave me 12 glorious weeks of dancing.

Terrific little team.

Totally agree Sid. They were so charming and real.

They gave me a lot of pleasure. Good luck to them both.

And I love Vincent, just do, can't help it, always will.

neither of them seemed quite on form tonight, except in the first dance, not sure why though.

their tango - and previously their vienese waltz - were the two dances i've enjoyed most in the whole series. they've been consistently good entertainment and lovely people.

Agree with all the above really. And she seemed so confident on BBC breakfast today, no sign of nerves at all bless her, just excited. I think the showdance and that song choice was what scuppered their chances - Vincent packed a bit too much in and she was overwhelmed by it Very disappointed for them as they have done so well the whole series and been a real pleasure to watch each week.

This is what puzzled me. When Tess asked her if she was nervous, she didn't seem particularly so. But maybe she was hiding it.

1-nerves
2-I dont think the judges choice was a good one.
3-a messy showdance

Shame as they have been brilliant this serie , oh well....

I think she was just out of her depth at this stage of the competition. I felt the same last week but that was eclipsed by the horror of Lisa

Couldn't agree more. I am so happy they did ALL the dances, as Vincent incorporated rumba and paso in it. They are a cracking couple and I was so happy they are right there till the end (well, almost).

yes, that's how I feel. She was the weakest dancer at that point and that was confimed by their tango and the showdance. You compare their tango to Kimberley's and the difference in class was huge. I have enjoyed watching Dani dance and think she's done really well and should be proud of herself.

(((hugs))) Rhumba x

I hope they give Vincent one more shot at the trophy. After all, he was partnered with two older female celebrities for two years in a row before Dani.

SCD-O you're back! You've been missed buddy.

Respect to Vincent for ensuring Dani performed all of the dances (even if it was just a small taster of Rhumba & Paso), though in hindsight it might have been better to stick to what Dani did best. Still, the judges wanted something different, something edgier from our pair, and that's what they got. Unfortunately the gamble didn't quite pay off but sometimes in life you just have to go for it.

At least she was the only one who wasn't firing on all cylinders tonight. Everyone else was fantastic.

She is someone who suits charming or fun routines and she had two dances which required passion and drama. The choices and the choreography didn't suit her personality and the costumes made her look awful. Why they didn't choose to do her crowd-pleasing Viennese Waltz I will never know.

They did very well. In my opinion Vincent was a bit over ambitious with the show dance, that's all, but they were still good.

Agree...it's bloody silly for anyone to win a dance competition missing some dances and I thought props to Vincent for taking that attitude

Ditch the ruddy Charleston has never been part of ballroom/latin competitions

She was probably tired and nervous and when I watched a bit of the prog on BBC2 about 6.30pm (don't usually watch it) and saw them on the settee, Vincent looked awful and seemed full of a cold, so maybe they've not even been able to practice properly.

It was a shame, as they've been so good throughout the series.

I won't miss the final for the world. It turned out to be a very, very watchable final, innit, Sid?

At least Vincent's choreography wasn't embarrassingly bad like Brendan's bacofoil showdance for Lisa. Vincent could go for the cutsey style showdance like their fusion, but that would be too samey. Glad he took risk. Respect to them, they seemed to know they weren't going through the second part of the final, which turned out better because I got to see their best bits. The second and third after Louis was given seconds to commiserate, and Brucie was so mind-bogglingly rude I didn't even remember what the two runner up couples said in the end!
