Was the annoucement of the winner pre-recorded?
jackbell

When Bruce started to announce the winner, in the same stuttering way he always does, the actual name of "LOUIS!" seemed so clear and distinct and a bit deeper, as if it was recorded. Did anyone else think that?

We didn't actually see Bruce call out the name.

Were all the finalists' names pre-recorded so that a producer just had to press a button to announce the winner?

Why?

I suppose someone will next suggest they recorded four presentations of the trophy as well as so they could go home a bit early!

I have seen some weird conspiracy theories here but this one even beats the massive significance being placed on an extra full stop in a Tweet and not Tweeting congratulations to someone just congratulated in person.

If you watch, you can see the wind waggling their outfits. That shouldn't happen, on the moon.

And don't forget the shadows. And the lack of stars

I suspect Bruce recorded all three names and the winner was played so that it was stutter-free and clear but most importantly it was the correct name.

I was there and no it wasn't pre recorded, it was live

And did Bruce carry on being a bad tempered old man? Yelling "Back off! Back off!" was truly appalling.

Don't think that was Bruce. Wasn't it the guy who does the voice-over at the intro to the show?

It is true though, that the ending of the show, with Louis winner, had to be arranged quite differently to the ending if anyone else had won.

Flav need to do the run and jump. I thought that is why Bruce tried to keep everyone else back, to give her space. There was a potential for nasty accidents if other contestants had come too close while Flav was running or if anyone had prevented Louis from catching her.

All that needed to have been pre-arranged to some extent.

Anyone else have any views about that?

I am sure they have made rough plans for each of the four contestants winning so the musicians knew what to play. They others kept roughly in two groups at the sides which left the centre space clear, suggesting they had been asked to do that if he won. But it only needed a few of them to start moving to the centre and it could have been difficult to clear the space again in the short time available so that Flavia and Louis could have their moment to celebrate which the audience seemed to appreciate.

As I wrote earlier I think Bruce also remembered the confusion last year when the idiots ran out from the audience.

I know we're all a bit obsessed about this show but nick-picking can go too far.

Don't you think rehearsals cover all eventualities and they possibly might run through what happens if each one of them wins. Brucie I'm sure wears an earpiece (mostly switched off so that the production gallery can swear at his constant cock-ups) so he'd have someone shouting at him what to do...possibly 'tell them to BACK OFF Brucie, BACK OFF!'

I didn't think that ending was pre-arranged. When they were asked to do their last dance Flavia seemed to be signalling to Louis what to do. Or maybe they had briefly discussed doing it if they did win. I doubt they would have told Brucie or Tess or the producers what they intended doing if they won

No conspiracy. Just an attempt to have some order at the end, I think. As lundavra says, last year it got messy with the McFly boys, and the year before that everyone crowded in really fast on Kara & Artem once they had been presented with the glitterball. It makes it hard for the cameras then to get any shots other than the back of people's heads.

Just wound it back, the other contestants did definitely keep well back as if there might have been a quiet word that they would do that lift if they won. The band only picked up the music as they finished it.
