Who are Those Two Specky Guys in the Audience?
SCD-Observer

The camera kept showing them clapping, but most of the time they they just looked a little snooty? Who are they? The BBC new controllers?

haha I noticed that. I wonder if they were linked to Darcy - one an ex ballerina - the younger one?

The older one on the left of screen was Matthew Bourne (famous choreographer), not sure who the other guy was but he had the look of a ballet dancer!
MB is a legend in the dance world, if you haven't seen any of his work I recommend it. His company is called New Adventures. He's most famous for creating the all male version of Swan Lake.

They'd have been showing their ages if they had, so it couldn't have been them. They're both 50 now.

Ah, he's Matthew Bourne I see! Yup, definitely seen the all male version of Swan Lake. No wonder he was a little snooty, he probably thought SCD was a little low-brow for him.

I wonder if they helped Flavia choreograph Louis's showdance If so it worked.

Er, hardly. He was on his feet standing and applauding after almost every performance from what I saw.

I've just been answering the same question on Twitter for the Radio Times bloke amongst others.

The other chap sitting next to Matthew is his partner, also a dancer/choreographer, Arthur Pita.

FYI the SCD producers asked Matt to be a Judge for series1 before CRH. He's been at the Final many times before, but presumably the cameras picked him out this time cos Sleeping Beauty has just opened at Sadler's Wells and there was a documentary about him on BBC1 last week which included Bruno and Darcey.

Thank you, mystery solved. They looked snooty to me, but there were moments they seemed to enjoy it. Just weird because they normally only show families and friends of the finalists in the front row. So it's likely they are Darcey's friends, or indeed BBC has sometimes they want to promiote this Christmas season.

I think it's the glasses that may give an impression of Gilbert & George. They got top seats in the front row, mind you, sitting next to Emma Kennedy, Celeb Masterchef winner - neither a dancer nor relative - so the Beeb were dishing out the tix this year. Pity a few more loyal Strictly Fans didn't get them!

Skipped the Masterchef this year. Didn't know her. I thought I saw Louisa Litton in the audience, but I might be dreaming...
