Because most voters are females aged 12-25 who are more likely to judge based on who they fancy and are more likely to make multiple votes then does anyone think it's unfair that people are allowed to vote multiple times ?

I am not saying Louis wouldn't have won or have any proof that he did get multiple votes, but saying its a probability based on past voting statistics, my point is that its a stupid way of deciding any competition if people are allowed multiple votes.

For example, imagine having a general election by phone vote - its obvious the tory party would have a huge advantage because people who vote tory are more likely to be able to afford multiple votes.

One vote per Licence Fee - by phone or web.

But then you just ask all your friends/family who don't normally vote,to vote for your favourite.

They want the votes because it raises money for children in need. Anyway, it's the same for them all. I can't see why more people would multivote for Louis anymore than Kimberly or Denise?

No it doesn't. The money from the 'phone votes goes to the company that provides the service.

I think that may have been different just for the Wembley week, when CIN was on, but I'm not 100% sure of that.

I think that you've got the profile of the voters wrong - on BBC Breakfast this morning it said the most likely to vote are middle age women and gay men.

However, one vote per phone is also not fair. We watched it last night with friends where there is no mobile phone signal. Out of the 7 of us there, 3 wanted Kimberley, 1 Denise and 1 Lewis, so the votes were cast accordingly. I believe that in the USA they limit (or have done in the past) votes to 6 per line. That seems fair as it allows members of a family/people watching together to have an input

They should keep a tally of all the votes for the finalists throughout the series and take all the votes into account.

Denise was the more accomplished dancer over the whole series and deserved to win.

Bad example - the winner of SCD is not going to run the country .... although that may not be a bad idea in some cases

Ardent fans of celebs will vote vumerous times regardless of their sex - you only have to read the appreciation threads to see that.

No - that's taking it too seriously! People should be able to vote as often as they want it's not an election just old fashioned Saturday night light entertainment.

That is actually extremely rude! I fancy Artem but have never voted for him. I DON'T fancy Louis and did vote for him.

If you are correct then Kara only won because girls fancied Artem!

Our final poll was one member one vote and Louis stretched his lead over the other two once Dani went!

I wonder if the show's producers have shares in any phone companies?

I'm a female aged more than double 25...I didn't vote for anyone...but if I wanted to and since I pay the bill for it that's my choice.

BTW are you paying for the internet connection you are using?

RUBBISH!! I am a 75 year old man, and voted six times for Louis for the simple reason that he was THE BEST!

Utter crap. I'm male, 52 and voted for Dani. I liked the partnership and dances they did. I accept they didn't perform as well as the others in the final, and them being first out was fair.

The plethora of threads from DVO supporters whining about how robbed she was, how unfair it is and so on is irritating. Bottom line is that this is a popularity contest as much as a dance contest. If you don't like that, or can't accept it then don't enter the competition.

As someone said in another thread, Louis and Flavia responded to negative comments made about them and changed. Ms. Van Outen was aware of the comments people made, and instead of trying to turn public opinion towards them just kept repeating the line that she just sat on a chair in Chicago - which nobody believed.

I would have been happy if either Kimberley or Louis lifted the trophy, so am happy with the outcome.

It's been a good year IMHO. Despite the dance off coming back, the judges have been less manipulative overall, and throughout the competition the right person went out most of the time with no blatantly unfair eliminations. The right people made the final, the right person went out first in the final (said as a Dani fan) and the winner WAS fair. Get over it DVO fans.

I can't believe there's still someone around who thinks the money goes to Children in Need. It doesn't, Convict.

I think it would be interesting to limit the votes to a certain number per line like DWTS does in the US. I multi-vote occasionally, but never into double figures. I gave Kimberley about 6 votes last night.

It's everyone's prerogative to spend their money how they like of course, though I've never understood why someone would get so invested in something that they think it's worth voting 50 times, but I do think it would be interesting to level it out a bit more and stop the huge multiple votes.

True and the reason I don't vote. I can't see how my paltry 5 (the maximum if I did vote) would do any good in the light of another voters 68 for a different contestant. I have better things to spend my money on

Well, we don't know how huge (or tiny) multiple voting is. That needs to be ascertained in the first instance. It may be that as it's so difficult to get through most of the time, multiple voting is insignificant because it's darned near impossible even if you wanted to.

I'm also a Dani fan - middle aged female. and I just wanted to say this is a very fair and reasoned response.
I voted for Dani without any great expectation of her going through. The final three were the better dancers on the night. Of the three I preferred Louis.
I'm not against the idea of limiting the number of votes but think it should be to five or six from one phone line - to allow for homes with more than one adult resident.
I did wonder if being able to vote unlimited times could be abused with regard to betting. I don't bet so I'm not sure how it works though.

The problem with that is, Denise still wouldn't have won, if the rumours of Louis topping the vote most weeks and Denise being low down/bottom is true. We know that, for at least two weeks, Denise was either bottom or second from bottom and Louis was getting more votes than her.

Another problem is that there is always a way round these things and someone will inevitably find it. Also, if you start putting things like one vote per phone in place, that will probably mean that the cost will go up, due to the additional technology needed and the loss of revenue.

It has been said (I don't know how true this is) that a watch is kept on the multiple bets to see if there is a pattern and bets can be discounted if suspect. This seems to me a dangerous path to tread as accusations of fix etc. can easily be hurled.

I just think its fair that in any phone vote competition the winner should be the person who has the most supporters and this can only been done if it is one vote per supporter - - obviously the people who run phone competitions don't care as they are making money out of it - but why should the votes of thousands of people be counted on the same level as 100's of lovesick girls/women who vote 20 times each - in my opinion this without question distorts the result in favour of some competitors who fit the correct demographic - such as male eye candy. if you witnessed your sister and her teenage mates all on speed redial to vote for Lewis then it will become pretty apparent !

They should have web voting - and make it free.

We have free web voting on DS - and only on vote per IP addy wit registration based on the TV Licence Fee number..
