I didn't think I would like Darcey in this role, but I do. I hope she comes back next year.

I couldn't bear Alisha.

Darcey proved she was able to send herself up with humour in tonight's Christmas special.

Her fawning over Louis at every possible moment got very tedious..

I think she has restored some old values that SCD used to have and in terms of scoring this year the judges have been a lot more better - no 8s on Week 1 like last year. Even though I dislike 'comedy' contestants, I do agree that it would be interesting to see how Darcey would judge the likes of someone like Nancy.”

I'd agree with this - I've studied ballet all my life, always followed her career and saw her dance many many times - particular favourite pairing was when she danced with Zoltan Solymosi - and so I was absolutely thrilled she was coming on the show.

I did have a dip with her, with her annoying yahs which thankfully she dropped - I did have respect for her when she bothered to explain why she had done it! And the other dip came with her fawning over Louis - I'm glad she picked up after that.

I adored Alesha as a contestant but abhorred her as a judge - for me, that's when the show started to slide in quality in terms of lack of proper knowledge. I found her annoying as a judge, so for me, Darcey has been a wonderful addition to the show - she has brought some class and quality back - and although I think she has a little way to go to fully understand ballroom and latin, I'd love to see her back next year - she's filled the spot Arlene used to have, but better.

She has grown on me - I like her ability not to take herself too seriously - but I certainly don't think she's "perfect". Her comments and scores aren't particularly consistent with each other and I still find her style of delivery a bit lacking (although I appreciate that's a very personal observation). I do find the demonisation of Alesha and the corresponding beatification of Darcey quite tiresome; the former wasn't that bad and the latter isn't that good, they're different and they brought/ bring different perspectives and different strengths and weaknesses.

Celebs are not alike, some taking to dance like duck to water, while for others completing a dance is like swimming the Channel.

Darcey the Principal Dancer had more ballet injuries than hot dinners. She reaches beyond the language of dance to recognise the person. I mentally chuckle after an appalling dance to find how quickly Darcey picks up on a redeeming feature to recognise even as she lays bare deficiencies without exaggeration.

She is not the establishment, and can have a laugh with us. She is new to ballroom/latin, and her enthusiasm is refreshing. It would be exciting fo follow this fast learner's progress.

I love her, quite unexpectedly for me. I thought she would be snobby and elitist but she is warm and down to earth, a truly lovely person, inside and out.

She will constructively criticize but tempers it with praise which encourages and gives the contestant new hopes.

I thought no one could replace Arlene but Darcy is brilliant. I bet Arlene, Alesha and Simon Cowell who thought he had wounded Strictly by poaching her are knashing their teeth.
