I think that had Louis competed any other year - perhaps even next year, he wouldn't have won. I think that the Olympics played a massive part in it. I think that if Louis hadn't had the fresh Olympic factor, that Kimberley would have won.

Post your opinions

I think so. I posted as much on the At the end of the day, Louis was the best thread.

I guess I was not as influenced by that factor, not being British. I think it helped him a lot, to be frank.

Didn't help dead-legs Victoria

Sorry no, Kimberley wouldnt have won. IMO she just isnt good enough. All she does is cheap gyrating, pouting dances like it is a performance for a GA concert. Ofcourse you are entitled to your opinion. Since many men have started watching, they seem to be voting with their crown jewels. I like Kim, she is ok in a bland, dizzy blonde sort of way, more likeable that Cheryl.

Quite right. Louis had grace and beauty, his body shapes were wonderful and that show dance was so different from the usual stuff. I didn't like his jive, but that is my only criticism. There seem to be a lot of sour grapes about Louis winning. I think he thoroughly deserved it.

We will never know but I suspect that if he hadn't been an Olympian he would not have won.

The most important thing I think is not the Olympic Factor, but that in almost any other series he would have had more stiff competition. This year there were really no other eligible males and all the eligible women had obvious flaws in terms of both their dancing and their potential likability to the GBP.

He didnt win because of the Olympic Factor. If it was then why didnt Victoria win

I didnt him vote for him because he was a Olympian. I voted for him because he was the best dancer, he is a lovely person, he was entertaining, grew the most throughout the competition, and because he and Flavia had a wonderful relationship.

I didn't vote for him because he was an Olympian. I voted because I enjoyed his dances.

I voted for Dani too - I'd never heard of her before Strictly.

Agree with all of this.

It may have played a part and I'm sure some people voted for him because they fancy him. And others would have voted based on his dancing. Equally I'm sure some Girls Aloud fans would have voted for Kim regardless of her ability.

He wasn't my choice for winner (controversially I loved Denise) but I've enjoyed a lot of his dances and think any of the final three would have been worthy champions. A very enjoyable final.

Can the OP throw any more tantrums? Talk about having a big problem with somebody who will never even affect his life. How many more threads and posts will it take for it to sink in - Louis won get over it.

Exactly, too many men throwing their rattles out of the pram.

To the people talking about Victoria - in all honesty I think it did help her. She constantly was in the lower end of the leaderboard and kept getting through. Even in week 7 when she had the lowest score she was saved.

I'm just posting my opinion. I don't begrudge Louis of the win, I'm just wondering if it had any factor in him winning.

Who do you think would have won if Louis didn't take part? (Out of the other 13 contestants)

there is a word you've used that I'd question Bornfree do real men really throw hissy fits because another bloke wins a competition? Sorry to be so sexist, but it's been shown time and time again since yesterday that the poor little souls don't like it when one of their little princesses fails to win and use every desperate 'argument' as to why women voted for Louis. We've had the he took his top off, he's got muscles, he's dead behind the eyes, he's got not personality, only young girls voted for him etc etc. now we've got the bitching about his being an Olympian - bloody good luck to the guy - he's earned his accolades and not moaned about it. At least Louis is true to himself and doesn't even need to downplay what he's achieved.

I really don't know, perhaps the line up would have been different. If GA werent doing a concert tour, do you think Kimberley would have been approached? Well even I dont the answer to that.

He won because on the night he excelled in all 3 of his dances and danced his way into the public's hearts. Nothing to do with it being Olympic year, sure even if it wasn't I don't think Denise would have been liked any better judging by the board and after reading the board today if she is anything like her bitter followers then .............. say no more

Whichever "Young Hunk" would have taken his place in the the 14 person line-up of course

If not, then Victoria because she's an OLYMPIAN

Kimberley has been approached for a few years now, and when was unsure about it, was asked about taking part next year, but said she didn't want to look desperate to re-instate her career, so decided to take part this year.

The Olympics had nothing to do with it, I voted for Louis because of how much he had improved, it was the same reason I voted for Dani and before strictly had no idea who she was.
I like to see how people improve and blossom into a dancer than start as one and just improve around the edges.

Precisely I actually liked Kimberley at the beginning, but her style of dancing started to bore me. Denise, I couldnt take seriously because I believed she shouldnt have been on SCD. IMO she deprived someone of a place. To me she is a professional dancer. From day one when I saw her dancing to me it was like watching professionals.
