i really really wanted Denise to win and voted about 6 times for her, i do really like Jill but i have always liked Denise and thought she was knockout last night, my mum who is more of a Jill fan i think also agreed that Denise should have won (she liked Aleds aswell) she also said what Jill was doing the jive again and was very similar to what won it for her.I do think Jill is really nice but thought Denise should have won.

I wish people would stop going on about Jill having previous dance experience. Denise also did ballet and tap as a child, same as Jill. (I read an interview with Denise in some newspaper where she spoke about it.) Big wow. Anyway, I'm so glad that Jill and Darren won, I personally believe that they were the best couple in the contest.

Did anybody notice that all judges apart from Bruno marked Denise down for her illegal move? Strange that, as when it came to Jill, they ALL marked her down? We all know that Bruno has been backing Denise all the way - maybe he just wanted to give her a bit of extra help!!! IMO, I see that as biased and cheating. Denise was given an unfair advantage, and I believe that she should not have made it into the top two as a result.

It would not have made any difference had Denise been marked down by Bruno! She would have been joint first place with Jill and Darren still getting maximum points! It would not have altered the final result!
Ian and Denise fully deserved to be in the top two and were absoultely magnificent last night! It should have been their night!

I wanted Ian & Denise to win too, but it was never going to happen.

I wish they would clarify the lift issue though; just tell all of the couples beforehand whether they will be permitted or not.

Explain, please, "stupid opera singer woman".....
Lesley is a highly respected opera singer who is not too snobbish to do reality TV, unlike most other professional sopranos, who would not stoop so low. And she really works hard at her routines, treats Anton as a true professional etc etc and dances well - though not well enough to win.

Fine if you wanted Denise and Ian to win - as I did - but don't bitch about the other contestants. They were all highly competitive, and gave us a brilliant evening of dancing.

actually, as a diehard N&B fan, I didn't feel their choreography was that innovative/exciting BUT they still knock the spots off everyone in the inevitable "chemistry" department (said to flatmate that a vote for them is a vote for sex!) AND their control with the slow foxtrot was fabulous.
oh well.
Denise has the same dance experience as Jill. Denise did ballet and tap for nearly 10 years... about the same as Jill. Denise's mother said so herself and Denise didn't deny it in a Mirror interview this week.
Jill doesn't have an advantage over Denise. Jill obviously hasn't danced since she quit when she was 12 and neither has Denise.
I thought Denise was great but Jill is extremely talented and I like her.

As I said upthread - fair point! I didn't actually know denise had danced too, although I have commented also on the advantages of being used to being coached and also learning new disciplines. As I said, this was an "unlevel, level playing field" in that everyone has different skills which would have helped.
I actually agree entirely with the final two - I thought J&D and D&I danced the best.
My wanting N&B to win was just a vote for nostalgia/chemistry. But I wasn't wowed by their routine - it wasn't anything special and their dancing didn't stand out particularly.
So I think it was a good result, even if I am personally disappointed, for completely biased reasons!

One BIG point here. Jill danced up untill she was 18 years old. Denise danced up until she was 8 years old. Thats hardly the same as thing.

I'm sorry but Jill should never have been in the programme. it was obviously from week 1 she was going to win it. And i have nothing against Jill. i quite like her.

yeah I was thinking the same...don't know where u guys got age 12 from...she was 18 as Laura said..she said it when she first met Darren about how she moved to london when she was 18 to act as it was then she had to decide between dancing and acting.....if u go to stage school as she did you do dancing, acting and singing....she has had loads more training than Denise!!!

Pity they didn't train her how to have chemistry!!

They're always hogging the limelight, they should let someone else take the trophy!! I wouldn't be so harsh against her but I think it's just so unfair she used to be a dancer before hand, obviously she is going to win.

I thought tonight Martin and Erin were actually really good and the wonderful Aled and Lilia - their dance to walking in the air was just magical. Natasha and Brendan were just lovely and so romantic, I can't believe they didn't like them!!

And wasn't Craig so camp in tonights show? Haha wicked stuff
Natasha and Brendan just did not cut it IMO. They had GREAT chemistry last time - it wasn't there this time: although the sheep-eyed looks they give each other WERE there, the trust had gone - at least on NK's part. She seemed ill-at ease and her posture wasn't as good as before. She was not as relaxed in his arms as on previous occasions.

Jill and Darren are good and put on a good show, but I think Denise and Ian were really outstanding. Ian took her and made her into a star - an athlete into a dancer is SOME feat.

Jill - all power to her - had the gift of dance from childhood - easier to brush up than start from scratch. Although I am NOt taking it away from them. They have worked V. hard and I am thrilled that they have been rewarded for their talent: Jill with a role in Chicago, Darren with work as a West End choreographer.

It said age 12 in the Christmas Closer magazine. i think it's an unneccesary comparison. Denise is an athlete, she's very fit. if Jill was a fully trained dancer, she wouldn't have been asked to do it. Jill also said that the criteria was latin and ballroom and she hasn't done either before.
Jill is popular with the public, she can't help that.

it's a case of bad losers i think!! lol

Dont know about Closer. But an interview i read with both her and another one with her mother said at age 8 she changed from dancing to athletics.

It doesnt matter if Jill had never danced latin or ballroom. If you have been trained to dance you can pick up any other discipline of dance quite easily.

Whos a bad loser??

julian is in panto here in bristol. went to see him at the weekend...absolutely hilarious. loads of innuendo, loads of ballroom dancing (with standing ovations each time) and thankfully loads of make-up and sequins.

Once again high ratings recorded last night as Strictly Come Dancing Christmas of Champions scored 8.5m between 8.00 - 9.00pm beating The Bill which had 6.2m. What Not To Wear Dresses Up had 7.3 million and Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Champion of Champions result had 9.1m both beating The British Comedy Awards 2004 which had just 5.8m between 9.00 - 10.30pm and 4.3m after the ITV News.

Strictly Come Dancing such a hit, can't wait for Ice dancing on Boxing Day!

Completely loved this. I thought it was interesting that all three couples from the second series, IMHO, wiped the floor with the other three. Slightly gutted Denise and Ian didn't win, I thought their routine was wonderful, witty, interesting and just fab to watch. I've nothing against Jill and Darren, but on the night Denise and Ian were the best and should have won. Now, if someone would just arrange for Anton to teach me how to dance I can die a happy woman
