It seems a bit daft not to reveal who finished 2nd/3rd, since we know all the other couples' finishing positions (and we'd normally know 2nd/3rd if it was a two or three couple final).
The BBC never reveal the voting percentages for their TV talent shows. Odd, since no other channels seem to have that issue. ITV reveal the
X-Factor stats and I'm pretty sure they do the same with DOI and
I'm A Celeb (which are basically in the same boat as
Strictly, in that the contestants are celebrities). The only explanation I've seen re:
Strictly is that revealing the voting % could affact the celebs' marketability if they weren't pulling in the votes. I can't see it being that much of an issue, though.
I have to say, the weirdest results reveal for me is
X-Factor US. There they revealed where contestants came in the voting order when the results were announced each week! Bizarre and made it blindingly obvious who was going to win (basically, the contestant who was in the top spot most weeks and never went lower than the number two spot!
