Cheshire cheese?

Why is it not widely available anymore? Our Asda and Tesco don't have it. Plenty of Cheddar, Lancashire etc but I cannot find any Cheshire these days.

Thanks. Going there tomorrow. Tesco said it doesn't sell well nowadays so they don't often stock it! The duty manager said "to be honest most people just buy Cheddar" Well I like cheshire too!

Have you looked on the counters rather than in the fridge section?

This.

Our Tesco has 3 different sections, the main isle where all the regular cheeses (cheddar, red leicester, edam etc) are then they have an end of isle section with pre-packed other cheeses (goats cheese, gouda, emmental, brie, stilton etc) and finally the cheese counter where they have baskets with other cheeses (wensleydale, stilton with apricot, applewood etc) as well as big blocks of an array of cheeses so you can select the amount the want.

And they had Cheshire

Thanks but I saw the 250g packs at £1.70 or 2 for £3 but no Cheshire.

One of the Tesco's near where I work has it and the other doesn't!
I use it mixed with parmesan for my lasagnes - no other cheese combo works as well IMO

I've always thought Lancashire and Cheshire tasted the same. I've only had supermarket quality though.

caerphilly is a bit similar as well isnt it.

and cheddar, leicester, derby, and dble gloucester are all pretty similar as well.

Cheshire, Lancashire, Wensleydale and Caerphilly are pretty similar, I prefer the crumbly cheeses to Cheddar myself.

They taste similar but I could tell the difference if you gave me a cube of each without me seeing the packets.
