Fudge
I made this for the first time yesterday as a gift for a friend and it seems to have gone down well. I made two different types, both basic recipes but one didn't require any cooking. The only thing I added as an extra was a bit of honey because it was there and my hand did it before my brain registered lol
I do have a couple of questions though for future fudge 1. Is it really important to have a thermometer? I managed ok on the cooked one with just a jug of cold water but wonder if I really should invest in a proper temperature device. 2. What do you personally add to your fudge that has gone down well? I don't eat fudge myself, not that keen on it but it does make a nice gift for people who do. 3. Tablet. I have a few Scottish friends and one was proclaiming his love of this last night. I looked it up and the recipe seems almost exactly the same as regular fudge. His description was that it's harder than fudge but melts in the mouth in a really yummy way. How does the method differ from regular fudge? Do I simply let it stay at the boiling stage for longer? |
