Is this cranberry sauce safe to eat?

We have a jar of opened cranberry sauce in the fridge from last Christmas, but it says to consume within 4 weeks after opening.

Should I chuck it or take a chance?

those things should last until the end of the next millennium...

re hydrate it if is a bit tough then spread it over some toast, it may be a bit hard, but you'll manage I'm sure.
