Your prefered screen size
What size do you like? Do you like the 3.5 inch screen? 4 inch? 4.3 inch? Bigger? Smaller?
My favourite size is a 4.3 inch screen. My last 4.3 inch phone broke so I'm using a Galaxy Ace 2 which has a 3.8 inch screen (until I can afford to replace the other phone) and although it's a good phone the screen is just too small for my liking. |

Well I have a 5.3 inch screen on my mobile. I'd say that it my preferred screen size. I could probably stretch to 5.5 but after that it becomes more of a tablet than a phone. The smallest I'd go for is probably 4.7/8 inches.

4.7/8 inch is perfect for me. Had an SIII before I got a Nexus 4 and now I can't imagine ever going back to a smaller screen!

Got a Note so 5.3.
Anything smaller looks barely useable these days. |

4.3 for me is the sweet spot. Which is what my Desire HD has. Really no need for a PHONE to be bigger. I have a tablet for a big screen. Really don't know why we are heading to 5 inches and bigger. Huawei just released a 6.1 inch phone. My tablet is 7 inches. Puts this screen size war in perspective.

Its funny, how screen sizes and mobiles were once going smaller and compact and the big phones were disliked, now its cool to have a 24" super wide screen phone and anything smaller is out of the question....

I blame Dom Jolly.
![]() Is there a screen resolution size where normal websites become readable rather than having to use the mobile versions? |

I use my iPhone 3GS to view Digital Spy forums just fine using the desktop version. Granted I need to turn it sideways first, but its very much readable.

4.3-4.5". If the next iphone is just stretched lengthwise like most sites are reporting, then that would be a turnoff when deciding on my next phone.

It's not so much what your preferred screen size is. I would like a phone with a 15 inch screen, but I don't want the phone itself to be any bigger than a lighter. But as that's not physically possible, it has to be about the best compromise of phone size vs screen size.
I personally prefer a more handleable, pocketable phone size. Unfortunately, that limits how big the screen can be. So for me, I'd say ideally, give or take, 4.2 inches. |

It was 4.8" when I has my Galaxy S3 but now I have a Galaxy Note 2 I can't see myself going back to anything smaller than 5.5"

Have you guys seen the Huawei Ascend Mate.
6.1" FHD (1920x1080) screen. too big? And i agree with the general consensus. 4.3" would be the minimum for me. The atrix 2 i used to have was great and i'd be happy using that size screen. But i'd much prefer a larger screen like i have now. (4.7") Not too sure about 5"+ as i haven't really used one as my main phone but there is no reason why i couldn't get used to it if the bezel wasn't overly huge. |

4" or under is perfectly fine for me. Although I may stretch to 4.3" at some point.

I've always been amused by this 'perfect size for the standard size hands' stuff that comes out.
http://news.cnet.com/8301-17852_3-57...news&tag=title If there is any truth there, its probably that they make more profit by palming off the S3 instead. |

There may be some truth to fat fingers iPhone trouble. I have the old new iPad, aka iPad 3, and while they increased the resolution they left the touch zone size the same so have to be careful not to select the wrong thing.
Before I knew the above I thought about getting a stylus for more accurate hitting, but the end is too fat due to the above, so no improvement. Maybe they've sorted it out on the new new iPad, or use a different touch zone resolution on iPhones so this isn't an issue. Though if the phone can have more accuracy why not the iPad?

I have the galaxy note, and compared to the iphone 4 i had before it seemed massive, but only took me a couple of days to get used to it and now would not go back down in size, seen the iphone 5 that is ridiculous, ok they made the screen longer but what is it with the thinness?

3.7" is still working great for me (HTC Desire S). I'm guessing my next phone will be a tad over 4, but I don't want a huge phone.I'd have another 3.7" phone if a good one was available.

4". I will get the Nexus 4 eventually, but it feels like I am holding a notebook in my hand. I just want something that sits in the pocket easily.
Unfortunately the phone manufacturers seem to believe everyone wants bigger, so to get a good spec you need to conform
