Darcey on BBC2 NOW!
Walter Neff
26-12-2012
She has two weeks to learn and recreate four routines from great Hollywood musicals, including those of Astaire and Rogers.

With comments from Len Goodman.

Great stuff, and Darcey is lovely!

The Singin' in the Rain number was stunning.

Can't wait to see Darcey as Cyd Charisse!

I definitely have - she talks about recovering from her knee problems. Have they added the commentary by Len? I don't remember it but then I wouldn't necessarily anyway.

In an interview I read, Darcey said she won't be dancing again on SCD, and that she was only able to do that showdance with Ian Waite because she had been training for SIX MONTHS for her special spot at the Olympics, and still had some of that dance fitness.

Shame that they had to update the "Girl Hunt Ballet" it was the weakest of the dances that Darcey performed.

Deja vue s right. I did not see this today. By the sound of it, a reprise of BBC2 7pm transmission from Boxing Day 2011. It caused a sensation then too, and brightedn up and flagging holiday. It is also on YouTube.

I'm rewatching it on catch-up and wondering once again why they didn't wait another three months before making the programme, so that her repaired knee could have the full 8 months recovery recommended. Why the hurry, why the deadline?

I just looooove Darcey. Her arms are so beautiful!

Darcey today (i.e. repeated from last Xmas) was a classic example of WHY she is such an excellent judge. Her application and mastery of the different dances was excellent. No, she is NOT Cyd Charrise re-incarnate, (or for that matter, Frederica Astaire or Jeanne Kelly!) but she made a damn good go of it.

Roll on seeing her back next season

Watching it now.

I hadn't realised until watching it that Darcey, whilst quite pretty, has almost a Denise-like boyish figure.

She is nice enough as a judge, and apparently as a person, but I certainly would not want to see her dance Latin - as per Denise.

Think its an ace programme with darcey doing things out of her comfort zone. Even len was on there of which I was a bit neutral over, but ah well it was very lucrative and a programme which had other Hollywood dances to go with it. Ten out of ten for it.

There was a programme years ago when hardly anyone had heard of her, where she learned different dances and had to perform then in front of live audiences. One was belly dancing in a Turkish restaurant!

This woman is a star of the first magnitude.

Gosh. Isn't she lacking in hips for that? Brave woman.

For belly dancing there is Shakira. Though she is half Lebanese.
