What the difference between sunlight and daylight?

Regardless, not going to happen - at least not until solar cells get massively more efficient. With current tech, the number of them that you could put on a tablet wouldn't even do the most basic trickle charge.

sunlight....... a sunny day
daylight....... a cloudy day

There are a million xmas lights and garden lights out there that charge up on sunlight
all day and light up at night.

The technology is cheap and it works,
wots the big problem ? surely that simple
tech can be fitted on tablets ?

No, the technology isn't there.

Those garden lights charge up all day and give a tiny bit of light at night.

Mobiles and tablets suck a lot more juice. A lot more. And the amount of charge that can be supplied by solar cells just isn't anywhere near enough, at least no in the footprint of a mobile.

You can get solar chargers - they're relatively large (several times larger than mobiles), you leave them in the sun all day and they charge up an internal rechargeable. Then you can use them to charge up your mobile overnight. Great for camping trips or holidays away where there's plenty of sun.

When solar cells become more efficient, then they'll be practical. But at the moment, not possible or practical.

It's still sunlight be it cloudy or not

The tech is there to do your outside lights but a tablet needs a lot more power.

Its often frustrating when I tap on something
and it does nt come up or I hit something by mistake.
But in the end there are a lot of pluses
the radio from around the world for eg, or LBC at a touch, when it is not gettable on my normal radio.
I can quickly get phone numbers, like the local Asda store I just looked up.
Great for looking at photos in colour too.

Frustrating though, Ive got a 16 gig tiny gizmo in there to add to the basic 16 gig of the tablet, but I keep getting a notice... running out of space its as though its not aware of the gizmo I put in there !

not overimpressed with the battery time available on my gemini tablet purchased dec 2011

20 mins surfing, 20 mins internet radio and before you
know it ....... battery running low ... notices appear..

All I can think is that listening to the radio burns up the juice
very quickly !

Maybe the day will come when we will get on the internet
anywhere, and not just hot spots.... it might eventually become like
radio... you can pick it up anywhere for free.
