Good evening Digital Spy Forumers and welcome to the Semi Final of The X Factor 20. Yes, we are just one show away from the final where one of our five remaining finalists will be crowned the winner. Tonight, all acts will be performing two songs under the themes of “Former X-Factor Finalists” and “Song To Get You To The Final”. The X Factor 20 has been a very unpredictable competition so far with many shock departures etc. meaning your votes for your favourites are vital. Last week, the whole panel were shocked to discover a Bottom 2 of MK1 and Fifth Harmony, the latter being in the Top 3 with the judges. However, this was the second week in a row that they landed in the sing-off and unfortunately for them they were booted out the competition in 6th place after the judges failed to agree a majority verdict and we went to Deadlock. However, tonight’s result is entirely up to you. There will be no sing off and no second chance. The act who receives the fewest votes will be leaving the competition tonight. After all acts have performed, the lines will open and you can vote by ranking them from 5 (Best) to 1 (Worst) and PM to me.

Also, joining us tonight for special live performances are Olly Murs and McFly.

Right, let’s introduce our judges and their remaining acts...

Soppyfan and The Boys

Adam Burridge
David Correy

Spanner82 and The Over’s

Carolynne Poole

Kuda_Kunaka and The Groups

MK1
Times Red

and of course bboy1988 who serves as our unbiased judge.

Judges, are you here? 

I'm here tonight and I'm very nervous since we're close to the final. My boys are going to pull out all the stops for tonight and reach the Final!

I'm here. Lost Fifth Harmony last show, so you can imagine how nervous one can be after that

OK, let’s kick this Semi-Final off! Over to Kuda and The Group’s first. They received fantastic feedback from the judges last week and fantastic feedback from the public as they shot to the top of the votes. These boys have come a long way and will be hoping to bag themselves a place in the final. Here with their take on Olly Murs number one hit “Dance With Me Tonight”, it’s Times Red

Well guys, well done for getting this far. I loved the cover and the rendition of that song. It was fun, catchy and lively and it was all done in acapella as well, bonus marks for that. Definitely the best way to start the Semi-Final and roll on your second performance. Well done guys.

Times Red

*Standing Ovation*

Guys that was absolutely amazing. You guys sounded amazing on that track and I was so so happy that your mentor took my comments on board from the last show and brought back the unique selling point for this group. This performance made you stand out from the rest of the competition in my opinion and has now made you one of if not the favourite to win the show. Well done guys I really hope your next performance is just as good.

WOW boys..
Olly who?
I thought that was one show-stopping performance. You are so versatile, you beatbox, you harmonised, it was different and simply one of your best. I'm so proud of you. You've got to be in that final

10!

Brilliant comments for Times Red, with Steve finding it lively, fun and a great start to the show and Stephen absolutely loving it. Right, up next is the Boy’s mentored by Steve. This guy is the only act left in the competition who hasn’t been involved in any sing-off. He secured a slot in the Top 2 last week, but can he do it again? Performing a One Direction track? WHAT? Singing a One Direction song? Just you wait and see! It’s David Correy.

David

David that was a much better performance than the last show's. I am so glad your mentor really stripped it back with this performance and let your silky smooth vocals do the fighting for you, instead of you fighting with the backing tracks. I can see why you haven't faced the sing off in this series David and I really hope that you can keep the momentum flowing for the rest of the competition.

David I think that was a great performance, its a catchy song but I don't think it really showed your vocal RANGE at this point in the competition, I hope your 2bd performance will. Having said that, I thought the vocals were smooth and great in that song

David, when people heard about this song I gave you, someone said "you must be joking", but no, I insisted on a cover version and this cover matches exactly to what you are and that is an extremely versatile artist. That song was well suited for you and it was like it was your own. Nobody has come as far as you have and I know that you're gonna be twice as amazing with your second performance. Great job my boy.

Another brilliant performance and David has certainly impressed the judges tonight, although Kuda would like to see David use his range more. Over to Steve again now and his other remaining boy. This young man has been gradually sneaking up on the other contestants and could be a surprise contender in the final. After finding himself in the Sing-Off in Week 3, he has proved to the audience that he deserves to be here. Performing a JLS classic, it’s Adam Burridge

Adam

Adam firstly can I commend your mentor on taking a risk with this song choice as JLS wouldnt be an obvious choice for you. I think your mentor has worked hard with you this week and found a pretty good arrangement for you. The only thing for me missing from the performance is the intesisty. I would really love or your next performance to take your intesity level and make it rise a thousand time.

I thought you took a brilliant spin to the normally Pop track, and a great arrangement as well.

Adam, it makes me so lucky and so happy to see you here as I'm always convinced that you're going to leave but you are still here and making me proud. The cover of this song was incredible, you made that song your own and as always, you seem to defy the odds. But you are here because you have fans that vote for you, I so cannot wait for your second performance, because you're gonna pull out all the stops later tonight.

Three very strong performances tonight and our next act will be hoping to make it four. Spanner isn’t here tonight but his final act is. She has had a mixed time within the competition narrowly escaping the sing-off last week however has been top of the votes twice. Can she do enough for you to give her the votes she needs to make the final? Here with “Nothing’s Real But Love”; it’s Carolynne Poole

Carolynne

Carolynne, during the last show I probably gave you the hardest time and I dont want you or your mentor to think thats its becasue I dont like you but instead its becasue I want you to push past my criticism and make yourself 1000 times better. This was a really interesting choice as I wouldnt have thought it would have worked but it did. It was a nice performance but I really hope that you will come back in round 2 and wow me.

Carolynne, I fully commend your mentor for taking a risk with that song choice. However, I don't think this was the right song for you, since your voice is more suited to Country and this song is more of a slow jazz/soul style which to me wasn't really that special. I hope your second performance will be much better than this.

Girl, I thought this theme would be the most challenging to you yet,.. How freakin wrong was I! I think Ferguson is probably the best you could have gone with, your timing was perfect, the only negative for me was the fact that Rebecca sings with a bit of an accent and you don't so that didn't match, and I hope you come out and shock me in your next performance

So, Stephen didn’t feel the WOW! In that performance and wants to see more from Carolynne, Steve wasn’t feeling it but Kuda enjoyed it. She has her chance later tonight. Over to Kuda again now. These duos have surprised everyone with many surprised to still see them here. They just scraped through to the Semi but will hoping to make it to the final. With their take on Leona’s biggest hit to date, it’s MK1

I thought that was a great performance and I really felt the emotion you put into that rap Sim., you weren't just spitting words which is quite unusual and look how Charlie your vocals have grown and grown in this competition so much you just make me proud.
Great Performance

MK1

Guys, wow was this a risk and a half from your mentor tonight. Taking a Leona song to begin with is a risk but to give it to you guys is crazy. And can I just say massive credit to Kuda for this. But onto the performance. When you guys started I was like yes cmon this is brilliant when Sim was rapping, but for me the performacen was a bit disconnected when Charlie started to sing as I didnt get the hip-hop urban feeling from you guys. I can see where you wanted to go but I wasnt getting the normal feeling from you guys tonight.

Guys, out of all of the semi-finalists, I think you're the luckiest to get here. Now I hate to sound like Nicole here but "No baby no", this song was what made Leona a world class star and I think her songs are legendary. This rendition was a bit underwhelming and it really didn't fit you both at all. Your second performance will need to be a hundred times better than this.
