Fantasy Bad Girls
ITV announces return for 'Bad Girls'
Earlier today (27th Dec), ITV executives confirmed that after Six years off air, popular drama series Bad Girls is set to return for a 9th series, with potential scope for more. The drama, which focused on the lives of Female Inmates imprisoned on G-Wing in HMP Larkhall, was axed in October 2006 after a series of poor ratings during the run of it's Eighth series. The last episode to be broadcast was the Christmas Special in December 2006 which saw Bad Girls favourite Sylvia 'Bodybag' Hollamby visited by her own Ghost of Christmas, Natalie Buxton. The end of the series was criticised by Fans, as it paid no homage to the past of Bad Girls. New Producer EEFanatic expressed his joy over the re-comission of the Prison drama: 'During it's prime, Bad Girls was phenomenal, and that's how I want it to return, at it's best. There will be a few old faces returning, with a mixture of new, but all will bring Drama!'. Between 1999 and 2006, Bad Girls ran for 8 Series with 2 Christmas specials, and it starred big names such as Stephanie Beacham, Debra Stephenson and Linda Henry. Since the end of Bad Girls, a Musical adaption for the Stage toured the United Kingdom, and a series of American Adaptions have been giving the green-light, before being dropped after the pilot. Bad Girls will make it's return on New Years Day, whilst in the coming days casting announcements will me made. |

'Bad Girls': First Return announced
Following the revival of popular ITV drama, Bad Girls, it has been confirmed some old faces will return. The first of those old faces is Janine Nebeski, played by Nicola Stapleton from the Seventh series. In the last episode broadcast in December 2006, Janine gave birth to Daughter, Beverly Janine on G-Wing, accompanied by the Father, Donny Kimber (Sid Owen). After the series end, it was presumed Janine served the remainder of her 5 year sentence for Credit Card Fraud, and once released moved in with Donny. However, as the Ninth series begins, it soon transpires that wasn't the case, as Janine has landed herself back behind bars. The reason for her re-imprisonment will not be revealed until the series begins. Stapleton was said to be overjoyed at the offer of a return to the drama, and stated she couldn't wait until the work resumed. Between the end and the revival, Nicola Stapleton has appeared in Emmerdale, Hollyoaks Later and made a successful short return to EastEnders as Mandy Salter, in which Bad Girls star, Victoria Alcock (Julie Saunders) took on the role of Lorraine Salter, Mother of Mandy. The role was previously played by Linda Henry, who stars in EastEnders as Shirley Carter, but was once better known as top-dog of G-Wing, Yvonne Atkins. |

Looking forward to reading more of this. I personally think it is a bad idea to bring back Janine Nebeski as she was so adamant that she wanted a life outside with Donny.
Still looking forward to it though. I read on Youtube a Bad Girls Extra Time video where they relied on bringing back loads of old characters - not a good idea! |

I would suggest two strong castings to play the Governor and Wing Governor as obviously Hollamby is retired and probably the same with Joy.

'Bad Girls': Another Return announced
Top Dog of G-Wing, Pat Kerrigan has been confirmed to return in the upcoming Ninth Series of Bad Girls. The last time we saw Pat Kerrigan, who is played by Liz-May Brice, she was celebrating Christmas on G-Wing with the other inmates, after being told by Sylvia Hollamby (Helen Fraser) that she believes Natalie Buxton (Dannielle Brent) is dead. Unbeknownst to Sylvia, Pat had killed Natalie after a long-running feud between the pair concluded, and with the aid of the Two Julie's, dumped her body in the sewers. Brice is said to be delighted at the chance to return to the role of Pat Kerrigan, who is serving a life sentence for murdering her ex-boyfriend, after an absence of over Six years. New Producer EEFanatic commented: 'It makes perfect sense to have Liz return to Bad Girls as Pat, as she is serving a life sentence for murder. It will be interesting to see how Pat's long running time as Top Dog as affected the wing'. Since Bad Girls ended, Liz-May Brice's most notable role was as Agent Johnson, in BBC One's third series of Doctor Who spin-off, Torchwood. |

'Bad Girls' return for Di Barker
Di Barker, a former Prison Officer turned Prisoner, is set to return to G-Wing - in a shock twist. The ex-Prison Officer, played by Tracey Wilkinson, was last seen in her cell facing the prospect of a life sentence at the end of Series 7, after she was wrongly imprisoned for the murder of Jim Fenner (Jack Ellis), when infact Julie J (Kika Myralees) was the culprit. Di mysteriously disappeared between Series 7 and Series 8, and even though her absence was never explained on-screen, it was presumed she was transferred to another prison. Now, Di is set to return to G-Wing, 7 years into her Life Sentence, and still declaring her innocence. As Di proclaims she will get her name cleared of Jim's murder, will anybody listen to her? It remains unconfirmed whether Julie J will return in the new series, as Di Barker is aware Julie J killed Jim Fenner in Series 7. The new series starts in the New Year. |

'Bad Girls' role for Polly Walker as another returns
Star of hit BBC One Drama Prisoner's Wives, Polly Walker is joining the cast of Bad Girls, it has been announced. Walker will take on the role of Serena Appleton, the new Governor of G-Wing, following Sylvia Hollamby's decision to take a lower position at HMP Larkhall. It as been confirmed that Helen Fraser is returning to Bad Girls as Sylvia Hollamby, who is nicknamed 'Bodybag' by the cons, and will now take a part-time role at the Prison. "She's basically Serena's receptionist" reveals Helen Fraser. "But the last time we saw Sylvia, she was still up to her eyeballs in debt, so it makes sense Sylvia is still working - she's working to survive!". Fraser and Walker will both be seen in the First Episode of the Ninth Series when it returns in the new year. |
