Ending an o2 Lease
Just double checking this, because typically o2 are a little bit vague on their instructions and I don't want to misinterpret anything. Hopefully a few people here have been through the procedure and can confirm things for me. According to the My o2 site, this is my current lease information: Quote:
My tariff name: O2 Lease 750 12 month Premier And according to the terms that are linked in this box:Length of contract:12 months Monthly charge: £36.50 Contract renewal date: 8th February 2013 Quote:
Either give the phone back and upgrade to a new one or if the new phone you want isn't available, hold on to the old one until it is. You can also upgrade to a Business simplicity tariff. Naturally, nothing about 'I want to leave o2 and go somewhere else' If you're giving the old phone back you can: Return it to an O2 retail store (upgrading customers only) Contact Customer Services and send it back in the jiffy bag we send you Whichever way, you get 5 days from the day you tell us you want to return it to get it back to us. Unlike the normal contracts where they seem to want you to call them a month in advance to cancel, can I contact CS on the 8th February, send them my phone, say 'Cheers guys, see you later' and not have them charge me for another month or anything sneaky like that? Also, am I able to get a PAC on a leased handset? Also, has anyone had a bad experience handing a phone back which they think is in perfect condition and then getting messed around with charges? I'll either take photos of my handset (which is in pretty great condition imo) or I'll go to Apple and have it swapped out for a refurb, as the battery has been iffy over the last month or two and that's a legitimate reason for a trade out. The only issue then is the phone I'll be handing back to o2 doesn't match the EMEI/Serial of the phone they gave me in the first place, which might flag something on their end. Cheers! |

Hi, just wondering if you did have any trouble handing back a phone at the end of your o2 lease that didn't match the EMEI/serial number of the original leased phone, as I may have this problem as well. Thanks!
