Hi everyone,
Sorry if this has been covered before but I did have a good look and couldn't see anything similar.
My T835 250Gb disk has got over-full again and as a consequence, refuses to initialise in the two different chassis I have here. Hooking it up to my laptop and running WD Data Lifeguard doesn't show any problems and by using 'DiskInternals Linux Reader' and 'MPEG Streamclip', I can download, save and then watch some of the old programs.
My question is - short of installing Linux on my laptop and doing it directly, can anyone recommend a method or some software that will delete the programmes off the old disk, thus hopefully creating enough space to be able to allow it to work properly again?
Many thanks in advance,
Jazza!

Installing Linux isn't going to help, IIRC, because most distributions do not support the large sector size used by Vestel PVRs. You could try Ext2Fsd - I don't think this allows writing with drives connected via USB adaptors, but maybe if connected via SATA directly.

What are the symptoms? IIRC, when the disk fills, you just need to press OK on the remote (can't remember if once is enough, or it may need a few presses) once the box boots up (i.e. leave it a little while as normal) and the display will then kick in. What happens is at least one error message is "displayed" before the display is switched on, so it sits there waiting for you to press the OK button. It just expects you to have some psychic ability .
