Hello

I have two Sony Bravia LCD Digital TVs (Models KDL 40W4000and KDL 20S30xx) and woud like to know whether they will work in Tunisia (either for watching local Tunisian television broadcasts or for accessing non-Tunisian TV via satellite)

My understanding is Tunisia TV signal type is SECAM B/G and UK is PAL 1 so a UK analog TV would not work normally in Tuniisa but I am not sure if the same applies to digital TVs

Any help appreciated

Thanks

Sony TV's are pan-European, so you should be able to simply set it to work in Tunisia, check the country options in the menu.

From what I can find with a bit of googling is that Tunisia uses DVB-T with MPEG 4. The UK uses MPEG 2 on DVB-T but some European countries do use MPEG 4 on DVB-T so if the TVs are truly pan-European they may well be able to decode MPEG 4.

Many of the modern Sony TV's will receive the French terrestrial HD channels - and would well before the UK HD service started 9or indeed was even suggested).

However, those two sets are probably too old to support the French HD system or MPEG4.
