Most mornngs, yes.

Currently on plastic 500g bags of Mornflake Superfast Oats which are 49p out of the cheap shop. Tasty too.

Water into saucepan, then oats and a dash of milk. I never measure or time anything, just let it simmer away and stir with a wooden spatula and the consistency varies at times. A drizzle of honey on top when it's in the bowl.

I'm sure the large bowls we consume would probably be considered two portions but I believe it's good for us and couldn't care less. The milk is full cream of course, can't stand that runny reduced fat stuff.

Before this brand we were on boxes of oats with added seeds and I think these were branded "Food Doctor". They were another cheap store special (99p) which has dried up now but I'd imagine someone stocks them for two-quid-odd a box. Recommended.

Prior to the bargains we were on Flavahans Organic Oats which come in a printed paper bag, like flour. Very nice also.

Yes, most days, Original Ready Brek, plus a bit of milk powder and sugar and pour boiling water on. Delicious.

I only like those pots you can buy and just fill with water. The ones with berries and stuff.

I don't cook porridge, I just eat it raw with water mixed in.

Bog standard cheapo supermarket Porridge Oats.

Boil Kettle.
Put cup of porridge oats into a pan.
Put cup 1/4 of boiling water into the pan with the porridge.
Cover and leave to stand for 3 minutes.

Put porridge into a breakfast bowl.
Add tablespoon of honey, a dash of cold milk, and if you're in the mood a tablespoon of blackberry jam.

I have that most mornings.

Got that off Nigel Slater a year or so ago and been doing it ever since.
You're supposed to also add a pinch of salt as it's a Scottish way of doing it but I don't bother with the salt.

No it isn't. I love porridge but find ready brek vile. Mr Mazz is the exact opposite,

I've never tried the instant snack version though - that might be more like ready brek.

Porridge is porridge and doesn't need ponsing up or faffing with, and is one of the few foods where buying the cheapest supermarket own brand doesn't leave you wanting something better.

It's also nice raw or cooked, so a fistful in a bowl, add a bit of milk, microwave for anything from zero to 60 seconds then waft some sugar over it and job done. The best breakfast known to man.

I have a big bowl of porridge every morning before work. If you want to lose weight porridge is the answer as it'll keep you feeling fuller for longer, I can go 4 hours with nothing else to eat after porridge so that's half the working day done.

I buy Mornflake oats and use semi-skimmed milk - no water. Bung it in the microwave for 5 minutes (stirring every 90 seconds or so) and when done add a good handful of sultanas to sweeten. No sugar!

what is all this sugar and honey in porridge?

Its a pinch of salt and a very full teaspoon of golden syrup per serving.

I have the traditional Scotts Porridge Oats. I put some porridge oats in a dish with milk and microwaive it for a minute at a time, stir it and carry on microwaiving until cooked. I always put sugar on mine.

Bought a box of Scotts Porridge Oats today £1.75p - 1kg. I have mostly had that brand but am interested in trying some of the cheaper brands.”

I eat it most days. I don't taste any difference between expensive oats like Scotts and value oats, so just get the 1k bag from tesco for about 79p.

I like it with brown sugar and some milk on top. Other toppings such as yogurt, fruit corners, mullerice, cream, and ice cream are nice too.

That's me! I always leave breakfast to the last minute, realise I'd better grab something quickly and that's what I have. Fills me up for ages
