I'm not vegetarian but one of my children is - actually thats not quite true, he is only little but refuses point blank to eat meat, just doesnt like it. I'm guessing one day he will call himself vegetarian . I just cook a separate meal for him, its not actually that hard to be honest. I bought one of those veggie cookbooks so I can ensure he gets the right nutrition. He probably eats a lot healthier than the rest of us tbh.

Never had a problem in restaurants either. Most places offer a veggie alternative.

Trouble with the veggie option is it's usually just one choice, how many people would go to a restaurant that served just one item on the menu ? You go out to try new things half the fun is chosing what to have but with just one choice it's like it or lump it time,

Coming up to 25 years as a vegetarian and there is no reason why anyone (who wants to take this route) couldn't manage if you do some research. It is so much better nowadays than the cardboard veggie burgers of 25 years ago.

The Vegetarian Society website has lots of useful information:

I'm a vegan and I manage just fine.

I can't imagine anyone having trouble being a more typical ovo-lacto vegetarian. From my POV the ovo-lacto vegetarians can go to a single supermarket, and it's absolutely overflowing with stuff to buy.
