Screen issue - heat explosion/burn?
I purchased a Toshiba LX830 AIO PC on the 31st October from PC World and as luck would have it, it has developed what I presume to be a very serious fault.
I noticed the screen looked a little blurred this morning, but put it down to finger prints. However, having tried to wipe the "finger prints" away I noticed that the panel of the PC had burnt out. Looking from extreme angles, you can see a black hole with a burn area around it - which spreads up and down around the black hole and has caused black lines as well. That said, after having turned the PC off for a while, it appears to have disappeared. My issue is that I can't take it back to PC World and say "Well, it was there earlier but isn't now." as they need to be able to see the fault [having been in to ask about it today]. Will it come back after using the PC for a while? If so, How can I make sure I can prove to PC World that there is a fault? Photographs? |

Sounds like a faulty screen, given the staff at pc world generally can only just walk and breathe at the same time i'd take it back and if they get shirty ask them to have the machine on (and set the machine to be always on so it doesn't switch off after 5 mins) for a few hours while you go and do something else and then point them at the problem

I'm still waiting to see if the screen goes on me again though. The other thing I noticed was that there appears to be a lot of dirt and dust trapped under the screen [which considering they are meant to be air tight, I wouldn't have expected to see that]. All it does is sit on my desk... |

As a follow up, I thought I'd show you what actually happened to my screen. In the end, I took it back to PC World and, after some excellent Customer Service, I got it replaced for a Samsung Series 7 model [which is actually better, newer and faster!] http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/p...S01UK-features |
