Hello all – I just found out that Matt isn’t on next week CF but if tomorrow CF is repeated on next Sunday, it won’t be a Mattfree Sunday.![]() Quote:
Also some more old Blue Peter stuff was found on YouTube today - if you search for "Christmas at Club Blue Peter" you'll find the 60 minute special in 6 chunks. As with the Quest it features content I'm not sure was aimed at kids (topless male dancers and women in Moulin Rouge-esque outfits in the first minute
) and Matt gets to show off his acting skills in 2 very distinct roles (and gets to sing and dance too). He's a talented boy ![]() I really, really liked the character Big Daddy Baker and Venous. They were like the animated characters in the animated movies like Madagascar, Kong Fu Penda. I mean,in terms of their voice, the gesture and the facial expressions. Big Daddy was a tough character to portray and the voice, the makeup, the talents did make wonder. How comes the art of the makeup transformed very slim Junior to an overweighed Big Daddy Baker. That’s incredible! Big Daddy was greedy and had a cunning plan in a very comical way. He really made me laugh most! Love that him saying ‘one for me, one for the box’ when he counted the money. Also when he whispered to Manni MacAfee (Konie), ‘keep up good work, Cupcake’, I was like I knew where it came from. Haha…I am an adult and I still enjoy watching their stuff like the Quest II and Christmas at the Club Blue Peter. The standard did look like a combination of Christmas pantomimes and the high school musicals though. There must have been other BP light entertainments during Matt's Blue Peter days cos I saw some pics from his site. Junior looks like a scientist from a sci-fi movie in his glasses. IMO Big Daddy’s ‘Eat It’ was the Oscar winning performance. Liz Baker was brilliant as Venous too. They were incredible bunch of Blue Peter presenters, weren’t they? I think Matt sang ‘Here Comes Santa Claus' and possibly ‘Eat It’ but did he sing ‘My Generation’? This is what I am wondering as it is the Who’s song and I can’t even recall how the original was. I though think Liz and Simon sang their bits cos I knew the originals sung by Shania Twain, Bananarama, Elton John, Kylie Minogue, Will Young, etc. If Matt sang 'My Generation', it would be nice to have it in an mp3 format. Also I spotted some familiar faces like Angelica Bell, Ade Adepitan and the S Club Juniors there. Big Daddy was very unkind to the kids, S Club Juniors. They looked very young so did Matt who was still a single at that time. I recognise one of the girls (now is from the Saturday) was on the strictly CiN 2010 partnered with Ian Waite and dancing the American Smooth to McFly's song. She was so scared when she was in the lifts and they obviously lose out to Harry Judd and Ola Jordan cos Harry danced pretty impressive. |

Evening.
![]() Yes SkyBlue the Club BP Clips are absolutely fantastic, you would never guess the man in the fatsuit is Matt He is a brilliant actor and he must yearn to do something like a musical but his life, at the moment, is mapped out for him what with the OS and CF and the other programmes he is involved in from time to time. You have a treat ahead of you once you realise what it's all about ![]() Thank goodness the snow is about to leave us (well in the SE anyway) It has completely mucked up everything especially for my hospital visits Don't like the high winds and rain coming our way but beggars can't be choosers, it'll be better than the fear of slipping and breaking bones......Sorry you were sad Rita over Fed losing. He is a beautiful player and a fine specimen but Murray's star is in the ascendency at the moment and we Brits need a winner again (the Olympics were soooooo last year!!!!) Seriously it would be very good for British tennis for Murray to win in Oz......I won't say any more because if I do, the opposite will happen ![]() Great ratings for the Thursday OS, that dip on Wednesday doesn't count!! Thoughts are with bakerettes having difficult times, POCs. xx Bit early to say night night but have to catch up with OH, him having just returned from London with our grandson, want to hear all about it! So CCM, sweet dreams and refreshing sleeps to all  xx |

Hi Emma. I watched it but I didn't realize Matt was playing Big Daddy. Will have to watch again. He is such a good actor it's really a shame he doesn't do more, but I'm afraid the longer he goes on presenting the more he will be eternally cast in that role. I suppose he's accepted that fact himself and given up on the acting. Shame.
It's still seems to be his dream to produce his own show but you need the money and support for that so the better known he is, the better chance he has. An audience reach of over 20m per week isn't going to hurt on that basis

I don't think that's necessarily the case from Matt's own comments on the subject. But at the same time the presenting role leads to more reliable employment and a potentially much longer career so he's probably practical about it.

Hi Rita, I wouldn't know if I didn't see Big Daddy Baker's photos from Matt's website long ago. He is such a multi-talented guy who has the abilities to learn many things very quickly, not just acting and dancing so he can fit into variety of presenting roles that include the family entertainment shows where he can host and perform. If he has to take some he has to give up some, hasn't he? I don’t mind if he gave up acting but I don’t want him stop dancing. He is, as we all know, a phenomenal all round performer, entertainer and dancer that you can rarely see in one person. I do love to see him presenting Countryfile and the like of Secret Britain, some sporting events and commentating on gymnastics. He is just perfect for those roles as well.

Onto The One Show of 19th December where Alex introduced Matt as "Matthew" Baker (he must have been naughty earlier to merit being addressed by his full name
). The guests were Mary Berry and Jenny Agutter and Matt got to show off a cake he and Molly had prepared earlier ![]() I like this one http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...22at212008.png And these http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...22at212808.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...22at212909.png And this lovely, relaxed pose http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...22at213355.png And of course this one http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...22at213706.png Like the colouring in these http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...22at214116.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...22at214227.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...22at214300.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...22at212008.png And here we have my favourite profile plus knee combined in one beautiful pose http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...22at212137.png Thank you kk. |

It's the last One Show before Christmas on the 20th of December with guest David Suchet. In a festive mood Matt broke out the velvet jacket which looks like it was a dark aubergine shade - and very nice it was too
. And we open with a cracker pull if you're confused by the first picture or two ![]() |

Horray! He made us all thud in the extreme last week - fingers crossed he has some more surprises in store for us..... CCM to one and all, hope everyone has a great Monday  xx |
