Evening all

Poor matt still coughing away sounds like its getting worst, needs plenty of lemsips, hadn't noticed the eyebrows as I was looking at his cheek bones looking very flushed.The make up lady might of gone a bit ott with the make up tonight.

Think dawn was ready to attack the chocolate tea pot

, lovely guest but didn't seem to talk to her much.

I did see the thread on the mf, tis a bit unfair, there are a couple of peeps defending her . I don't blame Alonia for being a disappointed with getting gregg as it her 3rd year running she had a no hoper, paul daniels the year she hurt her ankle, tony jacklin and now gregg.

It was Zoe’s dad Jonny Balls not Paul Daniels.

I tried to catch up SCD last night … Aliona was fine; neutral, I’d say. There’s nothing she got to be excited about and she didn’t pretend what she’s not. If I were her I can't be either. I noted some celebs and pros didn’t seem to be so pleased with what they got. And I saw someone on MF saying that Harry revealed in his autobiography that he was disappointed when he was partnered with her but got on well with her later. He was a pretender to begin with and some on MF seemed to prefer fakes and pretenders over people with sincerity.

Gregg is appeared to be too cheeky or trying hard to be funny which is going to be annoying if he keeps on doing. I hope he tones it down, works hard, trains hard and listens to Aliona, he would learn some dance moves from her.

Just seen this pieces of news article and I see Star Baker (aka eggscelent cake eater) is emerging for this year BBC CiN.

The abstracts from the Express article
”When asked for his top baking tips, the One Show presenter confessed: “With my surname you'd think I'd have loads but to be honest I'm an expert cake eater as opposed to maker.

Instead, he advises: "Bake what you'd like to eat if no one likes it you'll end up with more for yourself!”

Fronting #TeamFruitCake, Matt explained his love for the cake was down to its endless versatility.

“Fruit cake is a cake for all seasons it's everything you want a cake to be, sweet when you need a lift or savoury when you need it to be filling," he said.

"It can be for Christmas or for a wedding I love the depth of a fruit cake and the fact it gets better with age.

"Fruit cake is the ultimate celebration cake!”

And, if that wasn't enough to convince to public to get behind the traditional cake, he urged: “Come on Britain, I want you to join Team Fruit cake! What could be easier to raise lots of money for BBC Children in Need?”

Matt cites his wife as his ultimate baking hero for "always baking the most mouth-watering cakes."

It means picking out her birthday and Christmas presents is a win-win situation for the former Blue Peter star, who revealed: "The more baking equipment I buy her the more cakes she bakes.”

Evening all

A really lovely show from the Olympic park and the opening of the games, it was quite moving at times. Great speech by harry, love the puff of the cheeks when he got to the end of it

Matt did sound a lot better tonight, looking smart, great view from the window in the studio.

Pics from tonight OS…what a surprise from Matt!! Cilla Black’s impersonation was hilarious. The voice was impressive though. He did say when you hit the high notes the massive fake teeth came out. LOL! Cheeky monkey!

Screencaps from BBC CiN 2014 promotion…Matt’s calling everybody to join Team Fruit Cake, bake it, sell it and raise money as much as you can. Love his cheeky grins in the promotional photoshoot, very funny though…he looks fab in his orange pinny (the background I think is the OS studio), he’s promoting and appealing very, very well!

Hello - Just found out Matt didn’t film CF yesterday, did he? Instead, he was at the Southampton Boat Show and opened the show with Iain Percy. Got to expect a Matt-free Sunday. It must have been a great day outthere though, seemed they got nice weather in their favour.

Matt looked great tonight,

the tie was very loud good job that Richard chopped it off and that top button could be undone

Richard was ok, sounds like matt would fancy going to space offering up the one show's camera crew to go up with him on it's first trip.

Evening all! I'm back from holiday now - and straight into 5-7 weeks of busy time at work. But at least I'm home and can get back to picspams

Thanks for the pics Emma. He was looking fabulous at the Boat Show and you're right, that hair is very 2010 SCD. He's looking good at the moment with the slightly longer hair and even better tonight with the serious stubble too...

Regarding Aliona on this year's SCD - I feel so sorry for her. Gregg has a bad reputation - he's got into drunken fights (needed a minder on a book tour apparently) and has gone through a number of wives and girlfriends in a short space of time. On the main forum someone who says they were at the launch show filming commented that Aliona threatened to just walk if Gregg got out-of-line at any time during the series.

Catching back up again on picspams! It’s the 19th of September and the guest on The One Show was Lenny Henry (who sadly seems to get a bit more annoying every time he’s on the show…). At least the little leopard gecko was adorable

I felt for her too but not just because of she has been paired up with Gregg but there are some people waiting to jump on the bandwagon on MF. That might be the reason Gregg got Aliona you never know. She’s very famine and elegant but has a strong will and is a tough coach. I saw no pro is stronger and tougher than Aliona. He might be well aware of that though. His personal life is his private life I suppose so should leave it behind when he’s in the training room and on the dance-floor. I just hope he has the right frame of mind and attitudes, willing to learn, work-hard and prove that he deserves a place on the show. Trust is the major issue I reckon and the dance partner she shared mutual trust right from the beginning to the end was Matt only, no one else and that’s the fact.

Pictures of Matt on tonight the OS, I’d love to see Matt the Barnum Baker in the West End. And don’t you think he is more looking like he was on SCD 2010? Presenting the OS and doing the hand-stand at the same time is not easy.

He is in the intro around 1.41 in and around 11.11 in again. I was quite surprised when I saw this info a week ago before this episode was broadcasted. I wasn’t even quite sure it was our Matt. I should never ever doubt that. The one and only Matt Baker would take a ride in a a steam-powered car on a BBC program! I wonder why they repeated it again but what a pleasant surprise. Hope Radio 4 keeps surprise us with more clips of Matt on Open Country.

That was very unexpected, matt doing a hand stand as they were chatting about who going to be doing the lead role in Banrum after Brian Conley. Looking fab tonight, would look even more fabulous if possible if that top button was undone

They should have shown Matt swinging on a trapeze, jumping up and down on the horse back in a circus, juggling the fruits and his and Aliona's Charleston, Only joking! He would be fabulous as Matt the Great Barnum Baker though.

Open Country, Countryfile; you name it, Matt never missed the opportunities! Even in BBC CiN 2009 - Around the World in 80 Days, he managed to take the driving seat on the Tran-Siberian Express and tooted the horn! Boy couldn't resist his toys!
