Matt looked absolutely fabulous tonight, looking great in his waistcoat and very very nice unbuttonage on the shirt, funny start to the show with them both trying to have a agreement in which alex ended up laughing while doing it

They should have shown Matt swinging on a trapeze, jumping up and down on the horse back in a circus, juggling the fruits and his and Aliona's Charleston, Only joking! He would be fabulous as Matt the Great Barnum Baker though.

Open Country, Countryfile; you name it, Matt never missed the opportunities! Even in BBC CiN 2009 - Around the World in 80 Days, he managed to take the driving seat on the Tran-Siberian Express and tooted the horn! Boy couldn't resist his toys!”

I have rediscovered an old photo of Matt and Zara Phillips at the Mark Davies Injured Riders Charity Launch back in 2009

Only then Matt revealed the injuries he got when he was show-jumping for Sport Relief Only Fools on Horses.

By the way, DM Online described Matt as a friend of Zara. Not wrong though and it's a lovely photo of Matt tucking in but the captions really made me chuckled.

Emma - and of course, that 2009 interview with Matt about horses was before it got even worse and he fractured some vertebrae on Countryfile. We know that still results in him needing back support some time - especially in winter as he's said in interviews it's a problem for him when his back gets cold. It's just amazing he made it through Strictly OK! Though having a physio for a wife must help

Regarding Burghley 2015 - that's just the annual horse trials (three-day eventing). Happens same time every year (it's the one he attended this year to judge picnics)

Yeah, that interview was before he got fractured his back when the injured race horse Tilly got spooked and thrown Matt from her back on CF filming in 2010. I think his rickshaw challenge was much, much tougher than his experience on SCD. Nicola looks after him that for sure. Lucky boy!

A good cf on Dartmoor, looked really lovely on the moors in the sun, matt looking lovely in his checked shirt and jeans, nice horse riding and he did get a bit of anita pasty. looking forward to OMAHD next week

Pictures from tonight the OS…cheeky Gyles changed Matt’s name as John Craven Junior.

Hilarious! Matt and Alex’s expression were so funny. Last time Alex called JC as Matt’s telly dad. The OS team is v good at teasing their boy Baker!

Hi guys,

Just popping in to say that although I'm looking forward to Strictly starting, I have never felt so strongly about a pair since Team Mattiona days... tho Chelsee/Pasha and Natalie/Artem have come closer than I thought anyone would

Matt was such a fantastic dancer, as well as being great fun, and Aliona was brilliant with him. I still think he was under-appreciated as a dancer - he was so strong in both ballroom and Latin, which is seriously rare for the men!

Happy memories, anyway, and thank goodness for YouTube for an occasional rewatch of their dances

Enjoy the series (& happy screen-capping, very industrious...)

Good to see you here. In my eyes, Matt and Aliona are the most magical pair of strictly. They've gone strength to strength. They brought us not just great entertainment values and funs but the variety and diversity of the dances. Matt didn't miss a dance considering their AS was a waltz-based contemporary. There's always uniqueness in each of their dance routines which I love. Matt's a fabulous dancer and Aliona's a brilliant teacher.

Alex herself didn’t seem to remember but Matt clearly remembered Craig’s comments on his thumbs. Next time the OS production team should use Craig’s analysis on Matt on foxtrot training on It Take Two alongside Chris De Burgh and Louise Redknapp.

Craig said, “His top line is gorgeous… he got lovely feet… he got lovely legs… he got lovely lines… everything is lovely about him. He does actually do a few toe leads rather than the heel leads that's the technical thing but it is gorgeous to watch, isn't it?.”

Alex herself didn’t seem to remember but Matt clearly remembered Craig’s comments on his thumbs. Next time the OS production team should use Craig’s analysis on Matt on foxtrot training on It Take Two alongside Chris De Burgh and Louise Redknapp.
Craig said, “His top line is gorgeous… he got lovely feet… he got lovely legs… he got lovely lines… everything is lovely about him. He does actually do a few toe leads rather than the heel leads that's the technical thing but it is gorgeous to watch, isn't it?.”

Gymnastics World Championships on coverage on BBC
Venue: Guangxi Gymnasium, Nanning, China. Dates: 3-12 October

We would only get to see the finals but I am hoping Matt would go to Nanjing, China for the coverage of finals like he went to Japan in 2011.

I do look forward to see CF version of OMAHD but have no over excitement at the moment cos I don’t what to get very disappointed if the full coverage is not available on the red button. Didn’t see mentioning of Matt’s commentating on it either. However, I tend to think the website has not fully updated yet and hope that more information will be available by Saturday. If it has done already I would think there is no more coverage apart highlights on CF which would make me

His hair’s growing nicely but the best hairdo so far recently was the one he was to open the Southampton Boat race (Matt looks so natural) and on the OS 18 September 2014. Can't remember their guests names but the actress is from BBC new show 'Our Girl'. That's I'd called 'winner hairdo', not 'winners, winners, chicken dinner' though!

Wasn't strictly so much better with tess and Claudia, no pointless joking while tess introduced the next couple just straight on to them, some good dances, and some ok and not so good. Tonights just about to start

I'm back again! Hopefully not travelling for a couple of weeks so I can be around more

I would say that given Matt's schedule I'd almost hope he doesn't travel for the gymnastics, it can be presented from the UK and that way we might not miss out on him for so long...

Matt is of course commentating on One Man and His Dog - otherwise there's nothing for him to do on tomorrow's Countryfile! The show is entirely him doing the trials and Helen doing some link pieces by the look of it. As for additional red button coverage - we'll just see - but it wouldn't surprise me if there wasn't any (as honestly it's not a big audience draw and the BBC do have budget issues)

Countryfile magazine have also posted Matt's tips on dog training - http://www.countryfile.com/countryfi...-training-tips. It doesn't surprise me that Bob is a lot more possessive than Annie as that was one of Matt's concerns about getting a replacement sheepdog - they are one-person dogs so he was concerned about having a new dog around the children (he said that in a previous article)

Interesting to see a new challenge MALTESE CROSS that has been introduced to the young handlers round but it looked like the art of sheepdog brace round has gone to history book from now on. Shame!”
