Morning all. We have a rating for Countryfile last night Countryfile - 6.24m (24.5%). That's pretty good as it's still up against Dancing on Ice and also suffers a little from a poor quality lead-in (Blandings gets less than 4m and is really quite bad...).

Nice to see Matt starting off the year in a short sleeved rugby shirt and "shorts" (they were a bit long but we did see knees at least ). Still, it's a good start!

Thank you for the pictures Emma

Good rating. What was the weather like in the UK? Still lots of snow?

I like Blandings. Not the best interpretation of Wodehouse I've seen but he is difficult to put on screen. Last night's episode made me laugh, especially the vicar and Freddie. Lord Elmsworth is not as feeble-minded as he should be. Most importantly though, I was trying to find a short description of a cat whose antics in a kitchen cause a descent into chaos that is described by PGW in hysterical detail. I failed, but did discover that there are some stories of his I've never read. I shall enjoy catching up on those.

Yes, it was nice to see Matt's knees An unexpected pleasure as I was expecting arctic clothing last night.

It's the Christmas Special for Countryfile on 23rd December from Ragley Hall in Warwickshire where Matt gets to herd sheep, cook, roll up carpets, and be a waiter before finishing off with a sing-song
I always like the Christmas specials. In fact I like anything Christmasy really, but - short hair! I don't really have a favourite here, they're all quite nice shots. I'll pick this one as the best for me

Thank you kk. Getting to the end of the year at last.

The last One Show of the year was a "Best of" special introduced by Matt, Alex, and Chris from the ice rink at Hampton Court. Sadly this never appeared in proper HD on iPlayer so the pictures aren't great but there's a combination of shots from the links and little bits of previous shows in there
I think I preferred the 2011 Christmas Special to this. It all seemed a bit disjointed somehow and misplaced (or maybe that was the Chris Evans effect) Again I don't really have a favourite pic. I'll choose this one because it brings back fond memories.

[quote=kittenkong42;63886358]It's a Countryfile clip show on the 6th January (I've made it into the same month I'm picspamming - it's amazing!) and the theme was "Horses and Dogs". There's a couple of clips in there that haven't been picspammed before - hound trailing and husky racing.

[/QUOTE

The way this dog is looking at Matt here is just adorable to see
http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...26at215203.png

Think I like this this one best - though I have to say the dogs really steal the show for me in this episode. They're so beautiful.

I think the 2011 "Best of" was a much better show too. It was a 60 minute show which helped and I think having a top 20 moments gave it a lot more structure. With just a 30 minute show the problem was there wasn't enough time for the presenters...

Am surprised at Blandings low viewer percentage considering the excellent cast However the rest of Sunday night viewing on the Beeb is great, Midwife and Ripper - excellent programmes. so am not surprised at numbers.Wonder if peeps are taking the opportunity to eat at 6.30

No Rita - not snowing in the deep south but torrential rain and very high winds.

Have to agree that I was not enamoured of the T1S Xmas special either - prefered 2011

Doesn't matter how good the names are in the cast if people don't find the programme funny... I tried watching it, saw one episode and gave up. Found it rather dated, badly directed, and just not funny. So I'm not sure it has the broadest appeal around. The percentage is low as well as the audience - so it's not less people watching TV - they're just not watching Blandings.

And yes, we have heavy rain here in the midlands too. Lots of localised flooding with some road closures not too far away

Hello – it was a good show tonight. Never knew what Fleetwood Mac was look like but my big bro and sis were fans so I remember that they played Fleetwood Mac famous hit songs a lot. Having heard them on the show brought back my childhood memories. A bit disappointed through cos the OS did not send their very own Mr Darcy to explore and have a taste of food in Jane Austin’s novels esp the recipes described in Pride and Prejudice.

This is the album cover of Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours
And this is the album cover of Fleetwood Matt’s Rumours

What do you prefer? I went for the second heavy beardy one! Beard overdone a bit but very convincing!

Next time he probably rediscovers the history of pole-vaulting on Countryfile.

EDIT: Just noticed Matt's shirt. I don't think I have seen it before.

Evening all

It's blowing a gale down here, with the rain it not a nice night.

A good show tonight with the 2 mick's.
Matt was looking good tonight, the nice snug cardie, jeans and a bit of mop chop, a bouncy matt tonight, good remake of the fleetwood mac rumour album cover.
matt playing with the wooden balls at the end of the show and grinning about it, he's a bad boy

Thanks emma for the last night cf pics. they are great

Great ratings for cf, its doing well, i'm not that keen on blandings, it's ok but it's not somthing i'd go out of my way to watch.

It's The One Show on the 8th of January with guest Davina McCall - and apologies but I'm going to go back to just capturing the pictures rather than recapping the show. It's much quicker for me to do…

To demonstrate Davina's fitness the guest presenter (Sarah Millican) had her practicing her exercise routines with cake. This was obviously some form of torture for Matt as he couldn't eat them (though they did seem to disappear during a VT ). And later Sarah commented on a bad pun "I didn't write that". Wonder who did?

Evening everyone

Simply gorgeous pics....

http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...28at212338.png

and

http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...28at212900.png

Matt looks extremely good in that red jumper. And of course he appeared on tonight's OS, splendid in his tight grey cardie The guests ('the MFs' ) turned out to be excellent guests and there were some innocent and not-so-innocent remarks being banded about Matt managed to keep it all under control but only just, imp extraordinaire

A very entertaining start to the week indeed.....

It's been windier here today and lots of driving rain but it's what we know....just feel so sorry for people under threat of floods again. In our neck of the woods we don't get much in the way of flooding thank goodness but it must be the absolute pits to have your home/personal effects etc. ruined in this way

Well, better catch up on a bit of work, say CCM and wish one and all happy dreams of a norty boy! xx

Good morning all . Rating for last night's show The One Show: 4.6m (20.9%). Now the weather has improved we're back to normal...

And in other news the BBC have submitted their planning application (http://www.tvforum.co.uk/tvhome/broa...31415/page-166) for the move of The One Show from it's current home in White City to Broadcasting House (which is in Central London near Westminster). This was an expected move at some point as the BBC are completely moving out of their West London home (TV Centre, Shepherd's Bush, White City).

If you follow through the links to the actual planning application it shows that the show is pretty much guaranteed to run for another 2 years at least and the one hour show for Wednesday's is referenced. They want a ground floor studio but will block access / viewing when the show is airing to prevent distractions or dodgy crowd behaviour. And it looks like the move is planned by April 2013

I've also designed the Rebelmouse page for mattbakerfans - https://www.rebelmouse.com/mattbakerfans/ - try and look on a widescreen as I've added a nice background picture too

Just adding my thanks KK, a lovely layout to the pages with excellent content......Matt of course

Watching my first 'lunchtime' OS on beeb2, what excellent planning by the powers that be. Will brighten up my lunchtimes no end (when I'm here, that is )

Instead of ....'Double Busy' (a la Micky F), we have 'Double Matt'....what a great addition to lunchtime viewing.

The first proper One Show of the year was on the 7th of January with guest Rory Bremner and a guest presenter in Sarah Millican. We had VTs on council cuts in Birmingham (Simon Boseman), Victorian self-help books (Gyles Brandreth), helping yourself (Carrie Grant), and day 1 of the killer whale story (Mike Dilger)

Matt was in a pale denim shirt and tan chinos
Although these trousers really don't go with the shirt at all, they do at least give Matt a chance to show off his knees

I particularly like this one

No knees here but a lovely expression

Thank you kk.

Thought Sarah Millican did a great job as guest presenter here. Matt seemed very relaxed with her too.

Some great expressions in this lot. These are particularly gorgeous

And knees again

Just adding my thanks KK, a lovely layout to the pages with excellent content......Matt of course

Watching my first 'lunchtime' OS on beeb2, what excellent planning by the powers that be. Will brighten up my lunchtimes no end (when I'm here, that is )

Instead of ....'Double Busy' (a la Micky F), we have 'Double Matt'....what a great addition to lunchtime viewing.
Hasn't gone down too well with some of the moaners and groaners on PoV, but some of us like it Can't please all of the people all of the time and all that!

I'm just waiting for the cries of "he's on our screens all the time" to appear (we should be so lucky).

The last One Show of the year was a "Best of" special introduced by Matt, Alex, and Chris from the ice rink at Hampton Court. Sadly this never appeared in proper HD on iPlayer so the pictures aren't great but there's a combination of shots from the links and little bits of previous shows in there

Matt looking fab in his furry jacket, playing on the ice and going on the merry go round a good whizz through the year, they could have easily done a hour show for the best of the year.

Evening all

A good show tonight, monty was looking well, good and chatty, sounds like his garden is a bit of a mud bath.

Matt was looking fab, a happy bunny matt, a nice bit of unbuttonage going on with some nice gapping ,good to see that the razor is staying safely in the cupboard.

Not fair can't watch tos repeat at lunch, i can play iplayer on the pc at work, but can't turn the sound on, as it an open planned office and it's strange watching with no sound, tho there is plenty to look at

Rebelmouse is looking great kk

Answers to follow

My opinion is it won't affect the evening ratings in the slightest. Most people won't even realise there is a daytime repeat and they're not likely to be around to watch anyway. It's a show that is mostly watched by people having their tea and putting it on as something lightweight to watch.

No, you don't add audiences together to get a rating figure. The only place that applies is with +1 channels (like ITV+1) where some people count it together. The proper ratings from BARB never include repeats in the audience for a show - particularly not if it's on a different channel.

What it does do potentially is increase the audience reach of the show to new people which could be beneficial to the evening show - both by getting them new viewers and by possibly getting more guests by having a higher "reach" figure for the show.

Rating for last night's show The One Show: 4.59m (21.0%). Still nicely consistent

I wonder what the repeats are getting in terms of viewers?
