Figure every so slightly down, but percentage up, so that's good news. I don't suppose we'll ever know how many viewers the repeats get - unless for some reason it gets an unexpectedly high figure. I was wondering if some evening viewers who might go out of their way to watch at the moment could now leave it thinking they can always catch up tomorrow. But of course they can catch up anyway with iplayer and I think us fanatics are too small a number to make any difference.

Question kk. Do you use Time Machine? Ever since I upgraded my OS it's working remarkably slowly and judging by comments on forums I'm not the only one with this problem.

Figure down, percentage up just means less people watching TV. I'm not surprised as the weather has improved a lot - it's warm(ish) at the moment and just windy now so people probably went "Great! I can go out again" .

And I don't think there's such a thing as a person (other than us ) who goes out of their way to watch The One Show . I've asked on the ratings thread to see if anyone has numbers for the repeats anyway just out of interest...

And I do use Time Machine but haven't experienced any problems so far. I'm on Mountain Lion version of OSX so it might be different

Thanks. It's since I upgraded to Mountain Lion OSX that I have the problem. TM wants to do a complete backup but it's ridiculously long - like weeks. I wonder if it's because I skipped the previous OS upgrade and went straight from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion. There was a fix for TM in Lion so maybe that's not incorporated in the Mountain Lion upgrade. Anyway, I'll work it out.

Wasn't able to watch the OS tonight, saw the first few seconds, time for a quick thud before going out....... Matt looked very good as usual but don't think it's the best outfit he's donned (Sorry, just been rewatching yesterday's edition with Monty D ) Didn't our man look stunnin' by the way.

Sounds as if tonight's offering was a good'un so will enjoy some jolly japes and laughter tomorrow. Think I need a little bit of light relief sometimes......

I've just managed to catch up with last night's The One Show. What a lovely show it was. I'm finding the Wednesday hour-long offering so much more entertaining than I found it in it's early days. Lots of interesting subjects covered and the guests were great. Martin Clunes is always a joy. Not perhaps the best look for Matt, but not the worst either, and he did bring plenty of energy to the party. I think more and more that for me the amount of energy Matt brings to the show makes the difference as to whether it works or not. Alex is more or less always the same, but Matt fluctuates between treading water, lively and downright tiggerish

Nights now for 2 nights then 2 days off then 3 nights but then a week off, will be loads to catch up on!

Matt looked fab, a lovely dark red shirt, great unbuttonage with very good snw views and nice jeans. The razor is staying in the cupboard which is good, very nice stubble coming on, matt was very bouncy tonight.

Tos was alright tonight, the vt about the house the good, steve m was ok. but nothing to thud at, at all.

I'm reliant on the ratings thread and other sources for the ratings figures. And the guys there seem to be having difficulty getting figures at the moment. ITV haven't updated so I can't see a share but from Attentional I can see that last night's show got 4.61m

And there isn't a single word of spoken dialogue in Les Miserables. Everything is sung . I liked it, but it won't be to everyone's taste (someone at work didn't like it). And I think the director could have stuffed the camera into the actors faces less - some wide shots would have been better in places...

Moving on to the 9th of January on The One Show and today the guest host was Gabby Logan (slightly overbearing…) with the guest being Ruth Jones. And the other guest was Paul McKenna who hypnotised Matt into believing he was Picasso

Morning all. I don't know about others but I had trouble getting on here yesterday. Couldn't open the page at all. Thought DS was having one of it's occasional blips. Things seem to be back to normal today though on this lovely, sunny Saturday. No, wait a minute, it's cloudy! It felt sunny till I looked out of the window. Maybe that's the best approach - not to look out of the window

Do you get the impression the ratings thread is diversifying into ever more complex equations? I do. It's difficult sometimes to find simple ratings figures - even when they're there!

I never really fancied Les Miserables. It's one of those things I feel I ought to see without really wanting to. I felt the same way about Mama Mia and when I was finally obliged to watch it because someone brought a copy round and wanted to watch it with me - I hated it! I read Les Miserables (in English) when I was young and it's hard going. I presume the musical isn't or it wouldn't be so popular. I've set myself the challenge of reading in French because I think I don't use the language enough, and have made the mistake of starting with Hugo's L'Homme qui Rit. We'll see how it goes

Oh, I do like a nice waistcoat Didn't he look just wonderful that night. I would love to have seen a bit more of the "Picasso" bit, and also to hear more of Paul McKenna and what he had to say about it. But alas, it wasn't to be, thanks to Gabby's butting in and putting a sharp end to the discussion

I had trouble as well Rita so it wasnt my computer after all
I have never seen Les Mis either and I am a real theatre buff but it just doesnt appeal. I am not a Victor Hugo fan and am not fond of French history either so its not on my wish list. I personally loved Mamma Mia but the stage show is far superior IMO of course
