Matt was back on Countryfile on the 21st of August for Countryfile Live - an event that ran for 4 days at Blenheim Palace and proved a huge success. I remember the One Show has shown the history of One Man and His Dog in October 2012 in a VT reported by Alex Riley before first live event was to be broadcasted. They showed a very young Matt as a BP presenter watching a sheep dog trial.

Matt and Gus – One Man and His Dog
I reckon this photo was from 2009 but Matt joined Gus in One Man and His Dog commentary box since 2007 (the 32nd series) until 2012 and Andy has joined Matt in the commentary box since 2013 when OMAHD merged with CF. 2017 will be Matt’s 10 years of commentating on One Man and His Dog. And on the other notes, 2016 is the 10th years of Matt joining BBC Sport and the gymnastics commentary team Christine Still and the late Mitch Fenner.

Terry was saying looking forward to see them on Friday night main CiN show but he never could. It is very sad. Probably the fondest memories for Matt tho. in 2014 he specially played Queen's Bicycle and Hit the Road Again in 2015 for them. Team Rickshaw 2015 has raised £ 4,115,563.00. Incredible total and he would have been delighted.

It'll be particularly challenging for Lavana as once again I'm not sure I'd describe Matt's route as a ramble - much more of a scramble I think given the location! It's in the Eskdale area (near Scafell somewhere) so likely to be hilly and potentially scree slopes.

Alex tweeted today that she and Matt were doing the photoshoot for the Rickshaw Challenge 2016 so it will be soon. Based on previous years a Bakerette on twitter said it'll probably launch next Wednesday

Last year Chris Even did ask Matt on his breakfast show would his ramble with Ella be more like hiking. Matt answered it was scramble so you are about it. It was very tough for partly sighted Ella. When they came down it was getting dark so without a guide it would not be possible to spot the ground.

I think walking on hilly and slope areas with the amputated legs is harder than running on tracks and field/plain on the blades. The more they get higher, the stronger the wind can be and the tougher to walk on.

Great news – re Matt and Al’s Rickshaw Challenge 2016 photoshoot. Cannot wait to see. Would it be the Baterettes’ RC2016 duty bound this year as well? Really respect them cos I cannot take days off from work myself to follow them, to get up so early whatever the weather

and to cheer them on with goodies bags.

It was really engaging the OS and I have quite a few highlights on tonight’s show

***The launch of Sir Terry Wogan Fundraiser of the Year Award for creativity, commitment and inspiration while raising money for CiN; the words of Terry in a VT and Al read out Terry’s son Mark’s message.

Al: Now we have a message from Sir Terry’s son Mark. It said, ‘we are so honoured to the creation of the Sir Terry Wogan Fundraiser of the Year Award. Children in Need is such an important part of his life and we really hope this award can continue to encourage the great work of the public on that they do on behalf of Children in need. We like to thank Matt Baker for coming up with the idea and helped to create a real legacy of which we as family are proud.’

Matt seemed really touched by the words of Sir Terry’s son Mark.

***Clever the OS production team editing Anne’s questions from the Weakest Link episodes, created as Anne’s questions to Matt and Al. The way they answered to Anne, (well sort of to the camera) made me LOL!

***Matt got horse shampoo in hands for Al after a VT of Michael did a lovely pigtail hairdo for Molly the horse. Looks like Al interested in it.

***Al mentioned Matt has been saying all day how much he like to have a go on 737 landing and Anne commented ‘boys are boys’.

***Equestrian on the live show was brilliant.

I just wish Matt can get some trainings how to corporate a horse to dance. So elegant and so graceful and mesmerising to watch. I know he loves horse shows and he himself was a celebrity show jumper for Sport Relief, also he played polo on Blue Peter so he probably needs to keep a horse himself and get it trained.

Interesting CF episode, admired the artist who has created amazing artwork with the colour stones she collected from seaside.
As I expected Matt’s navigating!

I am sad to know the British wool industry is no longer as it used to be now and the value of wool has declined. And still if I go shopping I would find jumpers, cardigans, scarfs, socks, gloves, hats, woolly soft slippers all made in china or the like. I always have a thought where the products made in England or Britain has gone.

A look back to the One Show’s last five year rickshaw challenges before the OS unleashes the new team hopefully in this week.

Matt’s rickshaw challenge 2011 from Edinburgh to London, originally to ride 484 miles but he cycled extra 16 miles to light the Christmas lights in Peterborough so 500 miles in total.
