It's very sad, isn't it, to see really good looking men grow old. I never had a crush on Terence but he was very popular. There will be quite a lot of younger people though who will have heard of Michael Caine but not Terence Stamp I feel. He was always a bit of a bragger, wasn't he (and with good reason!). I thought he seemed to have mellowed a little last night. He definitely appeared to be quite touched by that valentine's thing at the end that made the rest of us cringe. I read somewhere earlier that he managed to embarrass Graham Norton on his show which takes some doing. Apparently over the "Brando thing". I have no idea what the "Brando thing" is and am now dying to know, so if anyone has the story please do tell.

Well - guest wise this week seems to have been a DIS AH STER darlings. At least BW apologised for his lack of grace - never saw TS ast night but OH did and was none too impressed with him either, Oh well you win some you lose some and we have had good guests a-plenty lately.

It's funny how on seeing something again, your views change. I re-watched the OS (the 1pm showing today of yesterday's prog) and it was fairly OK!! Apart from TS being slow and wordy and just a teeny bit pompous, he wasn't that bad and the whole programme fitted together better than I remembered! There were also quite a few gorgeous close-ups of Matt as an added bonus By the way, Rita, if I find out about the Brando thing, I'll let you know (I've never heard of it either )

Didn't watch the OS tonight as I fell asleep (it's all catching up with me) and Friday's edition always lacks the wow factor, in more ways than one.....

Oh well, not so long to wait til Sunday's CF, see it's a 'cobbled together' one with that vt of Matt when he visits Southwold and creates his rock'n'choc icecream special! Still, it's better than nowt and we rarely have a Matt-free CF nowadays because the producers know that El Presidente pulls in the punters

Must sort myself and the house out as we have our cherubs in the morning so must whizz off!

Hello all - I am not very happy with the new photobucket as I get annoyed from time to time but here some pics from Matt’s (Strictly) Launch Interview I uploaded a few months ago in the glimpse of hope that I might be able create a picture diary dedicated to Matt and Aliona for all the magical moments they have shared with us on strictly 2010 and live tour 2011.

Matt: I would not say I was desperate to win because so many factors that are outside of your control in Strictly Come Dancing. What I want to do is go and give a 100 per cent and know that when I go out there on that night on the dance floor on Saturday night it is as good as it can be. I am looking forward to Paso Doble. Quite like the whole sort of the farmer vs the bull fighter type thing so that might be quite good. Instantly I think I go for Latin simply because it is quite free and you can have a bit of laugh with it. Let yourself go a bit. But ballroom to me it seems a little bit too stuck up. I don't know. I might love it. Absolutely love it but I think instantly I am warm to the Latin.

Back from trip to Holland and catching up on stuff I'd missed and I'm now back into picspamming mode…

It's the 21st of January on The One Show and due to the snow they had a guest issue - so they replaced the standard guest with a bunch of BBC folks to talk about the weather - Graham Bell (skier), Carol Kirkwood (weather), Matt Allwright (consumer affairs), and Simon Calder (travel). It worked really well This of course, was also the episode in which Matt revealed his fondness for creating gruesome snow sculptures

So, it's a small bit of recycled Matt tomorrow night but worth tuning in for.

By the way, watched one of my BBC Olympics DVD today (for the first time) and to my delight, it featured some highlighted gymnastics with Matt commentating (of course ) and another couple of snippets of Matt introducing sports from the Olympic Park studio.......an unexpected bonus to my afternoon. Really perked me up......

Well! This lot has had me speechless for quite some time I can tell you! This is just Matt perfection isn't it? Everything about the look - the waistcoat (of course) the beautiful shirt that is a perfect match and nicely unbuttoned as you say kk, the jeans, the stubble, the hair. And do you know I swear this man has got just the most perfect mouth I've ever seen. I could easily choose every single pic here as favourites (they've all gone in my collection which is now extremely unwieldy). I'll settle for just a few though.

A lovely sunny day here, was great to see some blue sky

A clip show cf tonight, adam doing the main presenting and getting the ingredients to make a pizza, which didn't look great when made and a bit brown round the edges, not sure his daughter really wanted another slice.
Not alot of matt, but we had 2 lovely little matt clips, yorkshire pudding making and ice cream making. He does enjoy his food

Hello all - 2 short clips of Matt on CF tonight, very sweet Baker boy though. His all facial expressions in Yorkshire Pud clip were so adorable yet very funny esp when the judge said that that of Ellie got a squidgy bottom. I think 220 C in the scientific method was a bit too high so his pud got burnt a bit but tasted better. Julia clip should have been a little longer with her little boy, Matt and her dad. I would prefer replacing it over Jules' clip attempting to eat a raw fish that he didn't enjoy to have a go. Poor bloke!


Yes Rita, that curl on his left forehead is lovely, isn’t it? SCD hairstylist did some magic! I wish he returns to that hairdo one day. He does look young as it was 2 years ago. Not just Matt, Aliona does too. Now they have become a bit more matured still looking youthful but not as they were in 2010 though. I used to record SCD and DOI broadcasted between 2007 and 2010 but now I felt I should have recorded 2010 CF episodes while Matt on strictly. I didn’t bother recording last year SCD, still have some ITT episodes because of Alex mentioned about her sofa mate and I still do not watch them all.

SG and Lotus, do you mean 2 DVDs that the BBC released in December 2012? Just curious cos I saw them in ALDI and thought about Matt’s appearance but my second thought was they could have been the Olympics Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

The BBC has aired the highlights of gymnastics either World Championships or European Championships or even Grand Prix but there is no highlights of gymnastics or any other sporting events when the Great Britain was a host country of the Olympics London 2012. Shame!

Yes Emma, the DVD I'm referring to is the one that the BBC released in December. Think there are 7 discs altogether. I think I watched No. 4 only because my grandson picked it out! Not sure how much gymnastics is actually on the discs but it was lovely to see/hear those little snippets of Matt. He'll always be a part of that tremendous event which is lovely

Well, we're off to Buckingham Palace tomorrow with OH and grandson....and also exploring all things/places that interest 7 year-old boys He's very enthusiastic about everything so I'm looking forward to our magical mystery tour..... but it means an early start

Morning all. A very precise rating in the rating's thread for last night's Countryfile 6,713,467 (27.4%) - or to be less precise that's 6.71m viewers and another great performance from the show. It's still around 200K ahead of Dancing on Ice and 2nd overall behind Call the Midwife.

That's good, especially for a clip show. It will be interesting to see how it holds up once Call the Midwife comes to an end (which I hope will be soon). Also, as the weather starts to improve - assuming of course that the weather does actually improve this year.

Hello all - I thought the OS seemed pretty short tonight. Maybe VTs were longer than they used to be. Has anyone been watching Penguins-Spy in the Huddle? I have and quite enjoy watching it so far but I wish Matt would narrate such great programs. His voiceover I am really longing for every time I watch similar nature and wildlife programs. I will keep dreaming in the hope of Matt narrating the programs I enjoy.
