Along with the grey cloud we had rain and there's the weather forecasters saying we could get some more snow, cheerful lot, roll on the summer.

Richard was a good guest, happily chatty with matt and alex, talking about bad guest, sounds like richard and judy had a really bad one with a us actor.

matts had a tap dancing lesson, what is he up to, will we get to see it and when.so many questions and no answers, fingers crossed we find our soon, should be good.

Onto the 11th of February on The One Show with guest Chris Addison who once again proved to be an entertaining guest.

Matt is wearing a tight grey cardigan, deep blue shirt, and jeans. He had a lot of grazes on his hand - which based on the dates were caused by the hedge laying competition that will be part of this week's Royal Countryfile (according to the notes Matt and Adam were involved in one and that was filmed 26 days ago - so the weekend before this episode of The One Show )

Really glad that you're enjoying The West Wing. If anything it just gets better as it goes along. It started airing in 1999 and was still airing when 24 started - I think they're in completely different genres really. 24 and Homeland aren't political thrillers for me - they're action adventure series (a new version of House of Cards is airing in the US which I suspect is a lot more political and subtle).

For me, The West Wing was character led drama with great dialogue delivered by amazing actors. And even the writer of the show has struggled to replicate that because it's hard to top the cast he had...

Will take a peek at these later KK, that cardi was indeed quite tight and quite lovely! Well done for working out why Matt had grazed hands - good job you have your finger on the pulse

The OS was great, Richard M was better than I thought he'd be and Matt was full of good cheer and jokey And what about the tapdancing malarkey - what's all that for We're being kept in the dark for now.....awful that we've got to wait until Monday to find out more

I'm not quite sure why people think the reason for the tap dancing is something that's going to be revealed on The One Show soon? Matt didn't say anything that implied he'd be telling us all about it in the next few day...

I just don't think people should expect to find out on Monday because there's a chance that it'll be a disappointment if he doesn't say anything about it.

Right now I'm not convinced it has anything to do with Comic Relief as The One Show is covering Miranda Hart's week of challenges so that's their story for the event. And if so, then it might be more likely that whatever reason is something we don't find out until afterwards...

Politically inspired I said, not political thrillers. 24 and Homeland are definitely inspired by the political situation (international) of the day.

There were a number of comedy shows produced around the same era - Cheers, Friends, and a few others - that also had the quick-witted, clever dialogue and warmth of West Wing.

I loved the original House of Cards. Not sure I want to attempt the US version - sometimes remakes work, sometimes not. I love The Magnificent Seven, for example, and have yet to see the Seven Samurai that it was copied from, but Three Men and a Baby was rubbish compared to Trois Hommes et un Couffin.

Morning all. Bit lower rating than usual for The One Show at 4.32m though I think that's because Emmerdale was on from 6:45pm-7:45pm so there's probably quite a few people started watching that earlier and didn't switch over...

Yes, probably dented slightly by Emmerdale. 4.32m is not bad though all the same.

Yes Henry W is a truly charming and warm, funny man. T1S and CF seem to be going great guns at the moment CF seems to have become a "natonal treasure" - its ratings have really soared and seems to be part of regualr Sunday nigt viewing. Strange that DOI doesn't seem to have the same pull as SCD

Yes, watched the OS tonight (even though shouty man is on) and HW is indeed a person who is well loved and a joy to have on a show as a guest. He is a lovely man....

Am off to Hampshire on Sunday for a family celebration so will probably miss the 'Royal' CF but of course will be the first thing I watch when I get back Expect there will be lots of forelock-tugging and everyone will be on their absolute best behaviour Whatever people think of HRH, he does care for the countryside and wants it to be managed properly and with a view to the future.

It's a grey, foggy, Mattless day over here. Spring is only 2 weeks away but it feels more like November Maybe I should take advantage and start planning for Christmas

Very popular with critics and people in the entertainment industry - never achieved that high an audience. Particularly in the UK where it got pushed around the schedules at random and ended up on different channels.

Basically it's done really well since on DVD - when it only costs £49 (ish) to buy all 7 series it's gained a bigger audience

I remember it being talked about a lot in its day. But that of course was over here. I'm surprised it got to seven series if it didn't do that well in the States. Can understand in the UK its audience might be more limited.

I like Matt Dawson too, even if he does go on about winning Masterchef. I loved his responding to Matt B asking who he thought would get the rugby wooden spoon this year with "je ne sais pas" In fact the three men I've supported on SCD have all been Matts - di Angelo, Dawson, and surpassed by a mile of course by Baker

I thought I hated this shirt when it first appeared but now I really like it. It's weird. The shirt that is, not my liking for it. One thing you can surely say about Matt is that he does like to mix and (not always) match his outfits, even if the result is a bit conflicting - bless

It's now the 13th of February on The One Show and the guests were Dame Jenni Murray and Tim Vine. Matt admitted he'd always fancied a go on Total Wipeout - why did he have to say that after they cancelled it! He would have been brilliant He also said he'd love a go at this - http://www.zapata-racing.com/en/flyboard/ - one for Countryfile maybe?

And because Tim Vine was the guest Matt felt the need to be punny with a penguin joke "When you see where they live you realise it's only the tip of the iceberg"
