Straight on to The One Show from 4th March 2013 with guest Maggie Philbin. Maggie was on to promote the new series of "Bang goes the Theory" which I don't like as much now she's replaced Dallas Campbell. It's not as much fun…

They had a midwife on as a guest which prompted closeups whilst Matt talked about the births of his children. And randomly they were building scaffolding up to the window of the studio

Rating for last night's show 4.55m. There wasn't a rating for Monday because the show was on earlier and it was a Bank Holiday so as a result it didn't make the daily top 10 ratings.

Trouble is it apparently costs thousands of pounds per year to get access to the ratings so the people on the thread had been relying on registering for free trials. And I think they all ran out of time...

If it makes the top 10 for the day then ITV Media is the best place to look (http://www.itvmedia.co.uk/highlights/ratings) - yesterday The One Show was 7th most watched show of the day and it had a 22% audience share

I'm so glad Matt has more or less abandoned the clean-shaven look. I little stubble makes up for a lot of sartorial sins (in my book). But maybe I shouldn't tempt fate by mentioning it..

Evening all

Love the flowery start tos tonight and all the flower around to studio very cheery.

It was a busy tos with lots of visitors to the sofa. Michaela was a fun guest, good and chatty about spring watch. Sarah trip into space sounds interesting

Matt joined in with the summery theme by wearing a lovely pale yellow shirt, good stubble, even got a pun in while talking to mike about the piggie racing

Morning. TOS was great last night. So funny, a lovely show and Matt was gorgeous in his yellow shirt. Trying to encourage the daffodils no doubt The hour went by very fast for me.

The night before with Oliver Stone was not so good. He seems to be a very intelligent man and one who prefers to deal with serious subjects. A bit of a mismatch for The One Show I think. Nobody's fault, it's just that it's the wrong platform to discuss the world's ills in depth. I think Platoon is the only film of his I've seen. Julia made a bit of a faux-pas in describing his Vietnam photos as very Apocalypse Now - by Francis Ford Coppola Never mind. Did anybody catch which channel Oliver Stone's new series is going to be on? I'd very much like to see it.

It aired in the US on Showtime - I don't see any planned airings for it anywhere else in the world. He was over here to promote the book associated with the show which is being released this month.

And I personally think Oliver Stone is more than a little bit of a pretentious conspiracy theorist having read some of his stuff. Didn't think the show went too badly all things considered...

My issue this week is that Julia tends to try and dominate conversation - it's actually why I prefer Ellie on Countryfile. With Julia I do get the impression that she thinks it's all about her sometimes...

Thank you for that info. I think his programme sounds interesting. I like that sort of stuff. Will have to see if I can find it online somewhere. Though I think he's wrong to believe there is such a thing as an objective view of anything.

I agree about Julia. She was great on Monday, but less so since then. I'm not that keen on Ellie myself, though I know she is quite popular - mostly because of her looks (now can you imagine anyone being that shallow). I'd like to see Miranda Krestovnikoff be given a chance on CountryFile. She knows her stuff, is serious, and would be good I think.

Morning. This thread seems to have dwindled down to one - me! I'm talking to myself I know but there you are.

I watched The One Show last night to see how Julia and Chris got on together but sadly - no Julia. Still, Lee Mack was on and I like Lee Mack. Not Going Out is just not the same without Time Vine though. The interraction between Lee and Tim was the only funny thing in it for me, just as the interraction between Lee and David Mitchell is what makes Would I Lie to You work.

Hi Rita! I've been shopping this morning for less wintry work clothes so hadn't had a chance to post

Julia tweeted that she was off on holiday so I didn't think she'd be on last night. I think we have definite confirmation that Matt is off all next week as Jake has tweeted about Monday's guest... It's handy for me as I won't be able to see the show next week and won't be an extra week behind on picspams either

It's good that he gets a break, hope they go somewhere nice and sunny and he comes back with a real tan. Knowing him though he's probably helping out on the farm. I imagine with the ongoing rotten weather there's masses to do - for all farmers.

Hi Rita I am around but work and OH's ongoing health problems have caused me to be around less. Was so exhausted yesterday that I went to bed for 3 hours.. I personally have enjoyed the Matt and Julia show this week -. Glad the clan are having a well deserved break this week - somewhere warm and sunny to recharge the batteries

Enjoyed CF even though a clip show - what is the name for a collector of antlers We have messing about on canal boats this week and we all remeber the last one

A mostly sunny day here, it is so good to see the sun, was able to leave the back door open and open some of the windows for a little while to let some fesh air in.

Sorry to hear you're having a hard time with your OH and work. I keep falling asleep in the daytime as well, though I don't have your excuse of working too hard! Means I don't sleep that well at night though. Difficult to get out of that rhythm once established.

Hello – Ooooo I see Mr Baker will be on holiday next week. I am gonna miss him but pleased to know that he is having great family time. I can have more time to do my stuffs during the OS next week so not bad at all and we might see he got the tans naturally when he comes back. Not the fake ones!

Hi Rita, I first saw Julia on the old version of Watch Dog. I thought she was great co-presenting live with Nicky. Like Lotus, I personally enjoyed Matt and Julia on the OS last week but I did notice that in a few occasions she did not see the guest wanted to talk something so she appeared she was kind of interrupting the conversations unintentionally. I like Matt and Alex most on the OS cos’ I like their recreations and tributes to their guests. That’s the most obvious reason I like them presenting the OS together. Any duo won't be so entertaining like them.

On CF, I enjoyed Matt and Ellie (Yorkshire pudding and Segway race, for example), Matt and Jules (horse-board racing), Matt and Clare (crab meat thing and beetroot wine), Matt and James (wrestling), and off course Matt and Julia (so many memorable moments, ). I even enjoyed Matt and John presenting together, couldn’t remember which episode though. I do love Julia cos she is not just lovely to Matt, she said in honesty about him.

Ellie is gorgeous; she would be popular among the male viewers I reckon. I even like her in skinny jeans so would the men, won’t they? I'd like to see her on SCD cos’ I saw her learning the Irish traditional dance on CT and she was good enough to pick it up during filming.

Onto The One Show for the 6th March with guests Billy Bragg and Olivia Newtown John who had a singalong in the studio

Hi Emma. I should qualify my previous comments about Ellie I think. I said I thought she was popular mostly for her looks because whenever I read comments about her on different fora that does seem to be the main reason she is liked. Nothing wrong with that I didn't mean to imply that she wasn't good at what she does as well, in case it sounded like that. For myself I liked her very much when I first saw her, which was in the early days of Matt's tenure on The One Show. Then for some reason that I can't quite put my finger on I started to like her less. I don't dislike her mind you, just would prefer someone else if I had the choice.

A really enjoyable cf tonight, matt was very lovely, he had lots if layers on and he even put another one on cleaning the lock gate, bless he got a jetwash for xmas
Matt got to say bodding on cf looked quite comfy on the canal boat in front of the fire drinking tea.
Love the dramatic reveal of the tunnel infor, asking for a drum roll looked like he was enjoying the gin with julia at the end, wonder how much of that they had after they had finished. He was adroable tonight.
