Hello – So it’s a Mattless week, is it. I think we will have a Mattfree CF in next 2/3 week time as well. Very interesting CF last night, I thoroughly enjoyed it… Lot of lovely close-up and it was so nice to see Matt’s tans and make-up free face. I haven’t seen him like that for a while, what a natural bootie.

I can’t wait to catch up on iplayer when I get home.

Hi Rita, I knew what you meant even though you briefly said. I got your point so I was talking about the look only. I used to bump into the messages related to her elsewhere when I did google Matt. 10 out of 10 were posted by the admires. I’ve also seen messages on the OS FB describing AJ as an extraordinary looking woman by the men. Oh well, as saying goes, beauty is the eye of the beholder, is it? I never mention Mr B as an extraordinary looking man though I find him a lovely unassuming honest guy.

I'm wondering if tonight's One Show (which should feature Joan Collins) will be cancelled, as I'm sure they're busy shuffling programmes around to make room for Margaret Thatcher. I'm hoping it will be because then I'll feel the timing is good for Matt to have taken a break. We'll see.

Evening all

The start of a mattless week, a difficult show for alex and jake as they had to talk about Margaret Thatcher death. There will be all sorts of programmes about her for the next few days.
Joan was a good guest, looking very glam talking about her road show. Good to see alex back, looking well for getting back sometime yesterday.

I watched TOS tonight. Thought Jake did a pretty good job. I noticed on twitter one or two people thought Matt's absence was deliberate given today's news. A couple of people actually thought the BBC were afraid he might say something that went against the party line - a la Cameron. Holidays don't seem to occur to some.

Anyway, every TOS gone by takes us one day nearer to Matt's return

Hello – I will catch up this week the OS over the weekend on iPlayer cos I can wait.

I just watched first 5 mins of the OS yesterday cos I really wanted to hear Alex mentioned about Matt is on a week off. Then I re-watched last Monday the OS. Matt’s April fool joke was really funny. That was very naughty of him asking people to join him on the sofa and a guy holding a piece of paper at the back saying ‘hi mum, I am on telly’ with smiley emoticon.

And he cracked me up when his head popped into the scene with cheeky grin at the end.

Nice videos Emma. Did you do them yourself? The sound seems to be very low when I replay them, but that doesn't matter. The images are lovely , especially the Olympic one. Thanks for posting them.

Hi Rita, yes I did. Forget to mention that you would need to raise the volume. It was because I captured them on my camcorder and didn't want to annoy neighbours with a little bit higher volume than the normal; otherwise they would have gone mad.

Evening all - lots of catching up to do on here

Thought Matt was doing a teletubby impersination with the amount of layers he managed to zip himself into. The CF team have certainly had some appalling weather to contend with over the last year. The whole programme had a good vibe and very interesting features. A nice drop of tonic with ice and a slice in the gin would have been nice

.Bet they felt more like a cup of cocoa after braving the deluge.

Well Mattless week but thought JH was on all week

Oh well a well deserved break. Perhaps he'll play with his jet wash after the practice on the boats

He got the brollie in his hand; probably it was raining in London when he arrived.

I think he re-discovered the hairstylist from SCD during a week off. His hair growing in nice and curly, it would probably last for a week before he returned to the OS hairstylist and got straight them up and stuck up in the hairspray.

Hah…hah, Matt did look like the yello teletubbie Laa Laa when he put on another yellow jacket before he got his hands on the jetwash (boy got his toy!).

Laa Laa likes to sing and dance and bounce so does Mr B.

Thanks for these Emma. A couple of people have posted pics from this event on twitter, but these are different. Wonder what he was attending. From the earlier, smaller pics posted we were trying to identify what he was holding. Something thought it might be a bag or purse - glad it's not. I thought it looked remarkably like a gun myself but didn't like to say so

I forgot to mention that I saw Beth on the BBC Breakfast this morning just before I left home to work. All I managed to overhear were Max, Jenny and the European Gymnastics Championships. I do wonder if there any upcoming gymnastics championships (World, Euro, Grand Prix, etc.,) on the way? Has anyone heard about it and possible Matt involvement?

Cheeky alex offering michael a stay at baker farm if he co hosts with her, i wouldn't say no to a stay not sure i'd be any good at co hosting tho

Paul was a good guest, poor alex all her efforts on her bread and it went wrong. Michael was alright as a co host.

would love to see it without the watermark.

"all right" is exactly what he was. I thought he'd be better somehow. Just goes to show that presenting something live with all the autocues and voices in the ear etc. is not as easy as some people might think - even for a seasoned performer, though I guess there's a huge difference between performing something well-rehearsed on stage and having to ad-lib on TV. Last night's show seemed a bit of a mess to me. I'm not sure I understood what it was supposed to be all about with the bafta ads.

Anyway, one more Mattless One Show and we'll be back to normal

Hello – A Mattfree week is nearly over, just a Mattless the OS to go!

Looking forwards to see Matt sailing through a boat once owned by author Arthur Ransome on CF Suffolk edition this Sunday…I’d be re-watching last week CF Northamptonshire on BBC 2 at 9.40 on Monday.

I just watched the opening credit, that’s me done for an hour show.

Offering a chuffer for a week to stay in the Baker family farm and offering Chris Evans’s wardrobe on the OS last night really reflected what their boys enjoy most.

No, no squirrels. It's too grey and dismal I think. Last week when the sun came out I saw one looking very chirpy and happy. He was a light gingery little chap. Looked very skinny but at least he's survived. Last week I had lunch by the Lake and saw a couple of chipmunks, but they don't mind the cold so much of course.

Roll on sunday for cf and a sighting of lovely matt, hope he's had a restful week and isn't of filming cf tomorrow and he'll be all bouncy come monday

I too hope he is having a full restful week. I think Mr & Mrs B and mini Bs can still enjoy the lovely family time next week in the Peak District at the Foodies Festival at the Tatton Park:

Really looking to see Matt following Arthur Ransome trail on Suffolk CF, in the hope of we would hear Matt’s soft and lovely dialect tone of voiceover reading the description of Nancy. He would do more narrating than presenting though it would be nice to see him joining the crew and sailing the Nancy Blackett. If he got the chance to put his hands on Nancy as he had on the Heart of Oak they sailed through to the Piel Island, it would be a bonus scene for me.

I’ve never seen any chipmunks apart from in the movies especially the Disney animated ones. But I often see the squirrels and the foxes in the area I live; foxes just outside my flat playing around or seeking foods at night, they sound like crying. Saw a little grey squirrel this morning on my way to work happily running on the fence. It went under a car when it crossed the busy road a few days ago and I thought it might have been squashed under the tyres but what a lucky escape of this little fella. And every winter, I saw foxes killed by the road accidents and sad to see their lifeless bodies being dragged to the roadside before they were collected and buried.

Think Tom can do a clip of investigation on CF like he did on the growing numbers of deer in relation to the road accidents.
