Lot's of love from the Young Farmer's for Matt it would seem. I've tried to collate as many tweets etc. as I can on Rebelmouse here: https://www.rebelmouse.com/mattbakerfans/

It would appear from the interview that he chose to take the role for 2 years only, it could have carried on if they'd all agreed. But he just thinks he can't devote enough time to the grassroots parts of the role. I think they've benefitted tremendously from his involvement on a national level as he seems to have attracted a lot of people to the club (even if they happen to be mostly girls

) and given it a lot of publicity it wouldn't otherwise have.

It's wonderful that our cry of 'free the biceps' has been heard and obeyed, we've had those delicious rowing pictures to keep us happy

We've also had fab pics from the Fed of YFCs which MB has graced with his presence this weekend, looking wonderful in his outfits: the sharp suit in grey was great and some neat-fitting jeans were much admired!

Yes, his time as El Presidente has now come to an end but to us he'll always be The President - he will continue to champion the Clubs, promote them wherever he goes, etc. He's been a fantastic ambassador for them

Matt so adores the farming life.....

Mattless CF was a bit disappointing but a couple of good segments kept my attention (just about

) There'll be Mattage aplenty though next week which I shall be thrilled to see on my return from my break

Well, time to catch up on some TV viewing and some WMA if I'm lucky. Night night to all, CCM :sleep: xx

Evening all

A mattless cf tonight

in matts absent tom had to do the action man stuff

Some very cute new highland calfs on adams farm and sweet little lambs.
Not the same without matts lovely voice doing the voice overs and seeing him wandering around.

Lovely pics of matt at the YF, love the cheering he got going on stage, i think to introduce the band could hardly hear what he was saying for all the cheering,

Thanks KK. You are doing a great job. The quality video clip taken at Where’s Wally event is pretty good, I mean the picture quality. I couldn’t manage to listen to what he was saying because of the consistence loud cheers from his troops (boys & girls). It appeared to be he is much loved the NFYFC president.

Matt is the man with the common senses. I personally think his has made a wise decision of stepping down and giving others an opportunity to take the role. Despite his has limited time to pay attentions on the individual clubs’ day to day affairs he managed to focus on the national things very well. He has put the young formers straight into the public eyes and promoted them. His profile helped this a bit of course but without his passion and dedication he wouldn’t have done such outstanding contributions to nfyfc. His predecessors may have had more time to spear on each club's matters regularly but he has played as a crucial link between people like me and the young farmers. I think which was much needed for the nfyfc. Without him I would never ever notice the existence of yfc to be honest. They will still have his supports in the future so I hope they appreciate the fact that how lucky they are.

Evening all

A lovely treat for us with a longer tos, it still went just as quick

Matt looked great, lovely unbuttonage and rolled up sleeves, A happy bouncy matt, he must be knackered after his busy weekend at the YFs do.

Funny start to tos having dave do some drumming and alex to go and tell him off as the opening credits started

Caroline was a lively guest, happy and chatty.

Thanks emma for the pics from the YF, i haven't seem them, he does look good in his grey suit.

Have to admit that he has made the right decision - being on a regular daily tv show must take up so much time but his high profile and enthusiasm must have been a bonus and am sure that he will keep a place in heart and further their cause. The YF certainly seem to be a fun loving industrious bunch.

Evening everyone

Only caught a glimpse of Matt tonight as family were with us but hope to view the prog later. CQ was indeed OTT - usually I like her but she was noisy during the little segment I saw. Matt looked extremely lovely.......as per usual

Yes, very sad that Matt's time as El Pres is now at an end, but there'll be continuing links with the Clubs and he'll carry on promoting them wherever he can.Thanks for the pics Emma - have seen a few of them but not all - he looked tremendous in that light grey suit.

And thanks KK for the latest pictures - think it's time he waved byebye to the cardis and embraced some polo shirts

Evening all

Sir al not the most cheerlful of guests comes across very grumpy. was ok tho, didn't pull any punches about the young apprentice that took him to court

But matt was very cheerful and looking blooming lovely, a very nice snug pink shirt with straining buttons and plently of wow's and lovely bonus standing up

Onto the 1st of March on The One Show and Alex was on holiday so Matt was joined by Julia Bradbury. Strangely I wasn't really a fan of her presenting as she was a little overbearing - it really shows how certain roles suit certain people. And that makes Matt pretty special as he copes admirably with such a wide variety of roles.

The guest was Claudia Winkleman and this was the day Matt played an April Fools joke on the public

Quiet here still but I have ratings for this week's episodes of The One Show

Monday - 3.24m (19% audience share)
Tuesday - 3.68m (21% audience share)

Monday held up pretty well given that it aired earlier and ran longer than usual on a Bank Holiday. Tuesday's share is fine so just goes to show how much ratings drop when the weather improves

A busy OS tonight, Matt needed to lose that jumper, it was hot work what with Honor B (the Bond Girl, Pussy G) and 50 Shades of Grey (how to recycle the book

) The red sweater was perhaps not the best choice but we'll not dwell on it

MrB was looking very clean-cut and lovely.....but the general consensus is that his new image will be all right for a little while but some of us do like the stubble

Well a bevvy of ladies for ex El Presidente tonight.Must admit was not too keen on AM's impersination of MB - thought the real McCoy was much better and the stubble was on the wrong man as well

We must pray for more sunshine so that the jumpers are consigned to Room 101

Tomorrow they will be out and about on the River - probably waterproof weather

Good start to tos, matt doing a spoof of james bond meeting pussy g

lovely that honor joined in the the fun

He looked lovely in his red jumper, the razor has come out to play that hasn't been seen in a while hope it goes back into hiding

Honor was a good guest, didn't realise she was that old, betty was very chatty but interesting. Alastair wasn't very good at doing a impression of matt, it was terrible.

Star have a great time away, fingers crossed for good weather

Afternoon – just a quick popping in... Really looking forward to the OS live broadcast from the HMS Illustrious. What a pleasant surprised. Hope everything goes well this evening. Managed to catch up last week CF yesterday and I then found out CF on this Sunday would be aired at 6 pm

as the announcer said at the end of program. I haven’t checked the TV guide so I can only assume that the Voice results show would be at 7pm.

Edit: just very quickly, I won't be surprised if I saw few people would go insane after tonight show. Forgot to mention about it.

The Voice is on at 7pm - it's not a results show as that isn't how the show works, but it's the 2nd day of the "Battle Rounds" and they like to kick this stage off with a weekend of shows.

It's a bit annoying that Countryfile is earlier because Matt is back (and I'm on holiday!) so I might have to record...

I see, re- the Voice airtime.

Absolutely! Not many CF viwers would know it would be aired an hour earlier. It could impact on the ratings as well. Love to see Matt on HMS Warrior, HMS Victory and interviewing the veterans. Would be great so yeah, you better record it KK. Have a good holiday!

Evening all.

A chilly night to be sitting on the deck of a ship, with a chilly wind and spitting with rain, they looked really cold sitting there, the sailors standing behind them would have frozen as he had no coats on.

A good show with eddie and dan, they had fun watching the fly past and the merlin coming into land while they were on air.

Matt was all wrapped not that i blame him and with a flat cap on as well keeping his head warm, that razor looked like it had come out to play again

Really lovely lively show tonight - good guests and interesting stories, Thought the ABBA interview a little incongruous - seemed a tad odd to have this VT on this show

Hope the thermals were on - looking windswept and oh so cold. I am a fan of the flat cap myself.
