Afternoon - Last night the OS was really great. I loved it. Enjoyed watching the flypast, Catalina and Marlin landing on the HMS Illustrious on the OS. It looked amazing when the HMS Illustrious passed through the Thames barriers. Hope everyone over there had a good time. Nice to see Agnetha is back to where she was belong. Pic from last night the OS: https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.n...40107295_n.jpg Quote:

I am looking forward to see Matt exploring the maritime history and climbing the rig of HMS Warrior on Sunday CF Hampshire. I feel like he’s absent for a month on CF. This is lovely: http://ichef.bbci.co.uk/images/ic/512xn/p018vvkv.jpg and this one: http://ichef.bbci.co.uk/images/ic/512xn/p018vvq2.jpg |

Emma nice pic of last night's tos. Isn't it just! Mr. Darcy is one of the looks we most like to see Matt in too - ever since that early photo shoot! What a missed opportunity!

https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.n...40107295_n.jpg Thanks for posting the link KK. I watched the vid, the mute one at the moment so have to watch back when I get home. It seems Pete was a good instructor. Saw him and his team mates won 4 men coxless sculls on 4 of August last year while Matt was presenting morning program on BBC1. Great memories of Olympics London 2012! I am looking forward to see Matt exploring the maritime history and climbing the rig of HMS Warrior on Sunday CF Hampshire. I'm none the wiser I must say. One definition is a boat can be fitted on a ship but not vice versa - except of course you can't put a fishing boat on a ship, and I'd like to see them try with some of the 10-storey modern ferries, and ferries are always boats! Another is a boat can go underwater like a submarine, but this seems to be because the early submarines were launched from ships. As far as I can see it seems to be down to naval snobbery - they just don't like people calling their ships boats. If anyone has a definitive explanation I'd love to hear it, but in the meantime Matt can carry on calling it a boat as far as I'm concerned. |

Hello
Here, v nice pics of Matt at the Presentation of Awards at the NFYFC AGM Blackpool yesterday. I saw them last night so if you have seen them, sorry. You are doing a great job. The quality video clip taken at Where’s Wally event is pretty good, I mean the picture quality. I couldn’t manage to listen to what he was saying because of the consistence loud cheers from his troops (boys & girls). It appeared to be he is much loved the NFYFC president. Matt is the man with the common senses. I personally think his has made a wise decision of stepping down and giving others an opportunity to take the role. Despite his has limited time to pay attentions on the individual clubs’ day to day affairs he managed to focus on the national things very well. He has put the young formers straight into the public eyes and promoted them. His profile helped this a bit of course but without his passion and dedication he wouldn’t have done such outstanding contributions to nfyfc. His predecessors may have had more time to spear on each club's matters regularly but he has played as a crucial link between people like me and the young farmers. I think which was much needed for the nfyfc. Without him I would never ever notice the existence of yfc to be honest. They will still have his supports in the future so I hope they appreciate the fact that how lucky they are. ![]() |

It was a very interesting show. Would have liked to hear the vetererans talk a bit more, and I thought the Abba interview was slightly out of place, but otherwise really good - except for Matt's hat! I hate that hat and it didn't look quite right in the surroundings. I was hoping for full naval uniform mind you so anything less would have been a disappointment

Wouldn’t a boat a general description to any kinds of vessels that float on the water, regardless size, type, shape and age? I personally think it was a kind of general assumption referring it in affectionate way, no right or wrong answer. I am no expert but I know some people are very sensitive. For example, calling a scooter a moped which did hurt some people feelings so he ended up saying sorry but not really felt sorry. During his rickshaw challenge a guy was really upset because it has been referred to as a rickshaw rather than calling a trishaw. So no wonder sensitive people can be very upset over a minor issue but that’s the problems they created for themselves. Not by him IMHO. They don't seem to be able to identify and separate major and minor issues in their life, treating a minor as a major would prove it all.

Matt is v good looking guy, so versatile and has many hidden talents so it would make you believe that he would do incredible and be fabulous every time you see any shows/episodes that he can do so well. You would wish he’d be there. It’s natural, isn’t it? The problem is he has many talents so little spare time. I was so pleased to see him hosting the OS live from HMS Illustrious on Thursday. One of the best episodes of the OS 2013 and bonus was his voiceover. ![]() It was great to hear his lovely voice doing one of the vts on thrusQuote:

The ship v boat can be very sensitive for those in a maritime environment
I was told by a close friend who was a merchant sea captain that boats fit on ships (with a few exceptions - as always). I called the Queen Victoria a boat and was reprimanded - smacked knuckles ![]() Best idea is to "google" it and see if there is a definative answer!!Cant wait for Ahoy there me hearties and splicing the mainbrace at Pmth Dockyard - to think I was there 2 days later! |

Was it a boat or a ship? Anyway....I'll be out for CF tonight unfortunately but will catch up on later in the evening. |

Onto The One Show from the 18th of March with guest Peter Capaldi on to promote his series on Leonardo Da Vinci. We have VTs on drug companies not revealing all their trial results, a GP who moved to Islay, and jellyfish.
Matt is wearing a grey shirt with white collar, burgundy cardigan and tweed trousers ![]() http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...27at135701.png And the stubble here http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...27at135722.png And this is a lovely profile http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...27at161004.png I've discovered Safari is opening pics in mobile photobucket which is why they come out very small. Had to switch to Firefox to view reasonable-sized pics. If anyone out there uses Safari (I know you don't kk) and can tell me how to change this I'd appreciate it. I've changed nothing in the settings. It seems to be a decision Safari made all by itself! |

It's The One Show on the 19th of March with guest Bonnie Tyler (talking Eurovision) which as Matt said "We haven't won since 1997. It's a situation we've tried to turn around, but every now and then it falls apart". Alex replied "It's a heartache", and Matt then responded "We have been holding out for a hero"
![]() Matt is wearing a blue shirt, black waistcoat (consider yourselves warned! ), and jeans Thought the waistcoat was black on my TV if I remember, but on my computer screen the front is dark, dark red. Lovely. I suppose with Spring coming we've seen the last of the waistcoats for a while.Love all of these pics, but these are my absolute favourites http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...28at131820.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...28at132541.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...28at132602.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...28at132922.png |

Very interesting Countryfile episode tonight, I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed it. Matt made me giggle as soon as he started introducing HMS Warrior, ‘this is a ship’.
Hope 50m restoration project of 250 year old MHS Victory goes well using 21century technology. Matt asked the level of accuracy and the answer was down to the mm…it’s incredible, is it. Wonder how long it would take…wish Matt and CF team visit it again after it has been fully restored or even partly restored showing the progression that would make.![]() Portsmouth is a beautiful place …. Thanks to CF camera crew captured the beautiful scenes…that included gorgeous- close-ups of Mr B. His hardhat and the colour the harness matching his trousers ….looking very cute…and he made a tool using a traditional method which reminded me of his spade making on CF in Northern Ireland filmed when he was on the strictly live tour. Tom’s investigation of the lab to the land farming and the robotic hand were interesting. Julia clearly doesn’t like that spicy thing she had to try. And her saying ‘who is a clever boy’ made me chuckled. ![]() Baby goats on Adam's farm are v cute. He seemed he want to buy Zachary. Anyone enjoyed watching the Voice battle rounds? I didn’t last year and this year doesn’t make difference that much, I enjoyed blind auditions more than the battle rounds. Yesterday I needed the earplugs. |

![]() A good cf tonight a lovely early evening viewing, a great start with matt doing the voice over and going up the rigging they had great weather to do it, lovely close ups while he was on the ships and bet he loved making the axe head, but did he get to take it home ![]() How cute were adams baby goats and white park bull was huge adam's face when the farmer told him how much it was going to cost him ![]() I don't watch the voice i get fed up with the arguing between the judges and the screeching singers during the first rounds might watch the final just to see who wins |

Morning,
I was out last night so caught up with CountryFile late, on my return. It did look like a particularly interesting programme altogether, but I only watched Matt's bits I'm afraid. And how interesting they were. Apart from Matt looking gorgeous (so pleased he abandoned the hat ) I was fascinated by the tool making and the restoration of Victory, which I think could have easily made an hour-long programme all by itself. Not so convinced by the scooping out of the tree to make a boat (or ship if you prefer ). It's a nice theory, but it is only that - a theory. You need some proof I think. Can't just say this is how it was done because you think it was a more logical way to do it. All very interesting all the same. And didn't Matt look lovely - or did I already say that.

The One Show on 20th March featured the Antiques Roadshow with Fiona Bruce and Robson Green as guests. Matt bought in a clock he'd picked up 2nd hand to be valued. It was worth £200 but apparently Matt's balls need rechroming
![]() Matt was wearing a textured grey shirt and beige chinos Lovely stubble especially, and some great expressions.
