Evening all.

We got matt matt back on cf tonight, it looked lovely sunny on the beach in wales looked beautiful there, but matt was all wrapped up
with a hat on which gave him hat hair when he took it off all flat. Nice close up showing a good amount of stubble and he got
something to eat at the end. Poor ellie had to eat shell fish again
A good show liked the pier at sunset and the dell pic for the calender

I don't think it was that warm when Matt was filming - everyone else picking litter was wearing trousers and fleeces too. And the weather guy did say South Wales had higher than average rainfall in August - unlike rest of UK. They should have sent him somewhere with better weather

The return of the X-Factor and an hour long Coronation Street episode airing at 7pm knocked Countryfile off it's ratings top spot. No surprises there really But it was still the 3rd most watched programme of the day with an audience of 5.36m (24.4% share)

On to the 20th of August on The One Show with guest Paul Hollywood (for that day's launch of Great British Bake Off).

Evening everyone....a rather rare visit to DS

Thank you Emma for these phawtaws How clear they are! And I was fascinated to see the pic with the thudded lady and to see Matt's script tucked in his hand....I had a wee peek....it's so interesting how tightly scripted the One Shows are which is mega important for timing purposes. Matt and Alex manage to keep to their schedules rigorously and manage to rein in over-talkative guests etc. in many of their shows. Not that Alan S was of course, he was so charming and was a delightful addition to the show at the Gateshead Summer Festival! And some of our ladies had a fab evening into the bargain!

Great figures for CF despite the competition. And how lovely to see Matt albeit under many layers on the prog presenting the items on litter on the beach and in the sea around the Gower Peninsula. I hope many viewers across the land were made to feel uncomfortable when Matt said 'here are children, picking up your rubbish' .......it really made me think about the debris we see everywhere nowadays.

What a smashing OS tonight, Matt super tiggery with all the SCD dancing goss going on, he did a little boogying, twirled Alex and was brilliant Lots of funny expressions and he demonstrated golfers' hips whilst sitting down Whatever next! It was altogether a great programme, Darcey spoke a lot of sense, and Hairy Biker Dave was very bubbly too.

So all in all, not the most enticing SCD line-up but there are enough celebs on there to keep me interested.....and I love to watch dancing in all its forms.

Good to hear Aliona is standing in for poor injured Natalie (who I really admire as well). Aliona has not always had a good press but she is a very talented dancer and did wonders for Matt

The last time Beverley was on she was a last minute replacement for Frankie Valli and proved to be quick witted and very engaged. She didn't disappoint this time round either.

Moving on to The One Show on 22nd of August where the guest was Shane Filan - formerly of Westlife, promoting his solo career. They also had a rather eccentric sport artist in the studio who compared Matt to a polar bear (beat's Aliona calling him a moose!)

What a fantastic OS last night with Matt looking a million dollars in his tuxedo - move over Daniel C....there's a new Bond in town

Didn't take too much notice of Mr Fry and Mr Davies as I was too distracted by the gorgeousness

Well, dancing on Monday, totally thudalicious yesterday, what has Matt to offer on tonight's edition! Can't wait!

Btw, see that Ben C already has an appreciation thread....he could possibly be 'my favourite' for this year's SCD competition....but the thing is, can he actually dance? All will be revealed soon and we will know who's got half a chance of winning the beautiful and expensive ( ) glitterball.

Thanks KK as usual for all the lovely pics, I save them as my late evening treat....and then I can't sleep......I wonder why!

Evening all


An eventfull start to the day with fire engines pulling up outside the house at 5am as the flat across the road was on fire.
Which was put out pretty quickly, the flat is badly damaged and the one directly below it is very wet, 2 other flat in the block have some smoke damage and 1 next to them has some water damage.
Luckily no-one was hurt, but they haven't been able to stay in their flats as the smoke fumes need to go.
Then get to work just getting into things and the servers and network crashed, no work for 40 mins while the it dept got everything up and running again


So it was lovely to see a gawgus matt in a lovely new pinkish shirt, good unbuttonage and lovely stubble, a happy bouncy matt.
Martin was a good guest a good laugh, natasha and her team baker were lovely

Lovely pink shirt which was quite see through you could see the mike wire going down the front and disappearing great close up showing goods stubble, he's a naughty boy leaning his foot up on the side of the table looking fab tonight, off bodding to cf film now I would imagine

A lively tos, janet was OTT , ade and les did manage to get a word every now and then, a nice big pie and wine at the end of the show, hope matt got a slice

The next One Show was 27th August as there wasn't a show on the Bank Holiday Monday. The guest was Joe Pasquale to promote his Sherlock Homes comedy show, and also to talk about Open University and his interest in marine biology. And I guess Matt knows and gets on with Joe as he was greeted with the big hug

Last night I re-watched Matt’s 3 rickshaw training-clips back in 2011 on the BBC-website cos I couldn’t resist.

Matt just mentioned that yesterday was the last of summer blast we had and now the rain is back. He’d be in his rain proof if he films CF today. He has been overwriting my memory of him in layers for the last few weeks, now it will be reappeared again in my memory-bank. Hah…hah…

And I have to say last week Countryfile really tested my patience. I had to wait until Ellie and John’s first clips to be finished but it paid off at the end and it was good to see the clip of Matt announcing CF photographic competition voting on iplayer at the beginning of the-program. But again my patience will be wearing-thin if I have to keep waiting for Matt clips that long in next CF episodes. I can get easily frustrated.

I do like new version of CF theme song; oh well, a kind of remix of the old-version. Very pleasant to listen to but they got rid of the kite which I feel it is a symbol of CF cos each CF presenter or crew has to be floating like a kite travelling the length and the breadth of the country when they film.

Are we going to see more CiN promotional pics of Matt &Alex in some tv-magazines soon?

While strictly fans get excited about the new series, I am curious about what Matt and Alex would do to aid this year CiN fundraising. For strictly, iplayer is a godsend as I can fast-forward it whenever I want to do so.

Great to see Aliona got an offer for a replacement. It is a fair play. I don’t expect that she will be partnered with someone like Matt or Harry but I hope she can show those who have ever doubted her teaching-techniques. It doesn’t necessarily her and her partner to survive every single-week. How she coaches her partner does the matter to me but I don’t think I will get the chance to see it if the silly pre-scripted VTs are back.
