Nice to see they've added a new collie to the family. Do we know its name? Or I should say does anybody know - I certainly don't. I hope we get to see Matt taking him or her through the toddler stage as we did with the labrador (can't remember his/her name at the moment either).

I'm about to delve into about 500 picspams I've missed. I'm not going to bore everyone to death by giving my opinion on all of them, but you do know I'm sure kk that I am looking at them and appreciating them. I'll report back (assuming I'm still upright and in a position to do so) on any I find especially stimulating
We don't have a name for the collie - we only know of it's existence because a Pets at Home assistant couldn't resist tweeting about meeting Matt in store with his new puppy.

The Labrador is called Annie. The new collie is bound to have a one syllable name as that's the rule with working dogs .

I guess Matt couldn't resist a sheepdog again - I think with the bigger house and the kids being a bit older he thinks it's manageable... I bet he did get some sheep for the land too though, he commented on that after the royal Countryfile in the magazine (getting some from the highgrove estate )

Evening

Have anyone spotted this kind of strictly apron before or have you already got one for yourself?
This pic brought me the memories of series 8 and Matt’s rickshaw challenge. How could he look so gorgeous and charming despite being exhausted?

Bee, Skye123, LE and Rita - Good to see you all again. And Bee, thanks for your Gateshead report. Did you and other girls get the chance to see Matt tucking in pudding at the back while Alex interviewing the guy who grow a massive leek? If you leave Matthew with the foods he loves you know what you gonna get. And always nice to know that he seemed genuinely pleased to see you all over there. Rita, I guess you have been busy watching- US Open.

Well, I have finished catching up last night SCD launch show. This is the second year in a role Kristina being partnered with a celeb who is much taller than her. Ben should have been paired up with Iveta. And I see Aliona bashing posts have already begun and will be going round and round. Never ending, would it? She got the oldest male celeb golf legend Tony. He is 69 now according to his profile on the BBC SCD website. Honestly I never heard of him. Not just him, I rarely know others apart from the famous faces. If he has the personalities like John Sargent and Aliona can create routines that suit to his age, they might survive more than 2 weeks.

KK, how did you know Matt has got a new border collie pup? I’d love to see him trains his new puppy on CF. He got 4 chickens already. Like Bee said his home is going to be a mini-safari.

Edit: Just read your answer re-new collie.

Looking forward to see quite the artist on CF tonight.

Emma, that apron was made by and belonged to a bakerette . They were following the Rickshaw challenge and left the apron at the tearoom with a BBC employee so when Matt came in they'd be wearing the apron as a joke for Matt

Nice to see it show up!

Evening, now wasn't that a particularly thuddy Countryfile tonight, what with all the lovely pictures with backlighting, bending over a table drawing, not to mention pulling the press.

Phew, it's a good thing they split up his VT's or we'd all be sunk and under the table before the middle of the show.

I have been back reviewing Picspams, as always thank you KK! xx I love that the Samba pinney has been found after all this time, I think Sarah misses it

Well, I'll be back and unlike certain people *cough Bee* I have no intention of going over the parapet to Mordor, which given I got the Hairy Biker in the sweepstake is probably a very good idea

Night night CCM x

Matt looked fabulous in tonight's Countryfile! Lovely closeups when he was viewing the magic lantern pictures and making the linocut artwork. And Staithes as a beautiful fishing village - very similar in apparent feel to that other artist's haven - St Ives.

Thanks to cookie I posted this pic from mattbakerfans tonight: http://twitpic.com/dclkbj

He was rather scrumptious tonight, wasn't he. Like the linocut too. I think he was very proud of it.

Well, against my better judgement I peeped over the wall into Mordor Poor Aliona. I can't for the life of me figure out why some people dislike her so much. Jealousy maybe? Anyway, best left alone I think. A bit like people on twitter who feel they have to post just to say they don't like someone. Pointless. I mean - who cares?

Evening all

A very good cf, Staithes looks a pretty little fishing village with fabulous opening views of the village
Matt looked great he was having a lot of fun doing the lino picture looked really good at the end, some lovely close up of matt while doing
the lino picture, he looked fab nice bit of unbuttonage and just the shirt and jean, no jacket

Did get tempted to look in one of the threads out one there about aliona, it did make me laugh that one of the poster said she hadn't had a good dancer partner since matt completely forgetting Harry, only ended reading half the page I really didn't see any bad vibes from her in getting Tony, she couldn't of excepted any of the young fit blokes given that she's won it once and come 2nd already.

Evening. Well this is like old times

What can I say? Matt is still as gorgeous as ever, even more so probably. Am looking forward to SCD very much but nothing will beat 2010 for me.

We gave the apron to the lady who owned the cafe, We'd gone in for a bacon sandwich before the rickshaw arrived, but the advance guard of CIN workers (including the lovely Ollie) were there early too and Ollie joined us for a while in the cafe and modelled the apron for us. The owner was very taken with it and we said why not wear it to serve Matt when he comes in? She took that as an invitation to keep it!

I think she thought we were part of the advance guard and officially there giving out stuff. Little did she know it is the only sambabum apron ever to exist. I've just checked the website and sadly the cafe has now closed, but I hope the apron lives on somewhere.

xx

he so did. But strangely the Holmfirth style pics don't do much for me. I wasn't that much of a fan of the Holmfirth close up ones either for some reason. Not sure why......

If anyone has captured one of him against the black background however...........

Evening peeps, just returned from visiting my friend in Bedfordshire (lovely time) and excited to see all the latest MB goss!

Lovely to see the 'old guard' (sorry, ladies ) back on here again.....we've missed you! As KK points out, it's important to keep this thread alive seeing as it may be buffeted about with the emergence of the 'newbies' on SCD

Thank you Skye for your marvellous tale of what happened at Gateshead. We saw the OS Special of course and it makes it even more special when we get bakerettes reporting back with the extra bits of info! I did feel for everyone, it was obvious it was getting colder and colder that evening, and Matt and co, and the bakerettes must have been absolutely freezing at the end.

Am leaving tonight's CF til later (or even tomorrow) but I gather from comments that it's a good'un Worth waiting for especially as unbuttonage, handle-pulling and a Holmfirth-esque moment appear to feature

Loved hearing the pinny story again (never had the full facts before!) and that was the day that Matt cycled by at the end of my estate and I was able to call out to him - I was on my own and I remember how I wanted to share that moment with other bakerettes It was a very special day as I followed it up by being at TVC that evening to see Matt triumphantly finish the RC. Happy happy days

Thanks for all the picspams KK - have got rather behindhand but know there's plenty of lusciousness on display when I get there

So CCM to all MBlovers (and the numbers are increasing of course ) Sleep tight. xx

We hadn't left...we just went outside before he arrived as it was a small place...so we never saw if she went ahead & wore it or not.

Thats brought back memories of a lovely moment during RC.........one of several occasions where fate conspired to bring Matt & bakerettes together in the same place in the most unlikely situations.

It happenned spectacularly on day 1 at the layby high on the hills above Innerleithen, it happenned to me on the top just beyond Stanhope, at the pub in Cambridge the last evening and then again at the Cafe. None of these meetings were planned by us, in fact we had no way of knowing he would stop there, but fate was on our side to give us the kind of unique experiences that only seem to occur when your not expecting them

We had gone to Hare St planning just to wave our banners on the roadside as he went past. I think that was the only sighting we had planned that day as we then had to travel to London & go our various ways before meeting up again for the evening at TVC. We found what appeared to be a good spot, hung up the banners and waited.......only for a random man to pull over about half an hour later and say....'you looking for MB? he's stopping at the cafe up the road soon if you want to see him'. Then he drove off...........

so what could we do really but find the cafe ( a farm shop) where there was no sign of anyone RC related and investigate. When we went in the lady confirmed they were expecting RC but that they were (as usual) running late. We had our breakfast quickly as it was a tiny cafe & we were very keen not to seem to be intruding as it wasn't a publicised stop. It was a rest stop for M & the crew so we kept out of the way as much as possible. We had been teasing one of the crew and got him to wear the apron for photos and when the lady saw the apron she liked it so we suggested she wore it when M arrived. We didn't expect her to either go ahead & do it, or keep it forever. She did both!

When Matt finally arrived we had gone outside. I think it was about 10am and it has to be said he looked probably the roughest I saw him look all week. He barely seemed to register seeing us and was really wobbly on his feet as he went in. I think by the end of the week he was really struggling in the mornings til the painkillers he was taking (or Bruces blue sweeties as they called them ) kicked in.

We left before he came out. I can't remember why but I know I was glad as it felt like the right thing to do. He was in a lot of pain and beyond exhaustion at that time so quite how he managed to look so great in that pic is beyond me entirely.

he's superman........but we already knew that.

so we never actually knew if the lady wore the apron...we just hoped she did. Its lovely to finally know what happenned and relive a great memory.

hope that fills in some gaps

Because you're a weirdo

In the Holmfirth pics he's heavily stubbled and the light makes it look more like a beard - which I know you don't like - so that could be part of the reason. He does also look older because of the angles and light so that could be part of it too...

Rating for last night's Countryfile - 5.22m (23% audience share). 3rd most watched show yesterday behind X-Factor (8pm ITV) and Coronation Street (7pm ITV) so once again, doing well to hold its own against shows airing at the same time as it...

As I like doing this comparison - Antiques Roadshow (8pm BBC1) managed 4.93m (19% share) and 5th most watched of the day.

Good ratings as always for CountryFile. I don't know why people don't do as I do and record Coronation Street for later.

I watched the SCD launch show last night. I think, 3 years on from M day I might be ready to give it another chance. There isn't anyone that grabs my attention in the line-up, but then that was the case in 2010! I like the Hairy Biker - he always seems very sweet, and like Deborah who I think might be a genuine version of the dreaded Pam. Can't stand Vanessa. Can you learn something new over 51 she asks. Surely she's joking. 51! She looks older than me! Winston Churchill I think was 60 when he led Britain through WW2 so yes, it is possible to still make some sort of contribution in your dotage. I like Nathalie, but that's because she did such a brilliant job of making everyone hate her in Coronation Street. Rachel seems like a bit of a poser but we'll see. Am happy that Christina has finally got someone decent. Feel sorry for Aliona even though I do like Tony. Don't like the Bond girl very much.

For the dancers, I don't much like the look of any of the newcomers but we'll see. I still haven't warmed to Pasha and Artem and I know they're both very popular. I still miss Matthew Cutler and Ian - and now Flavia and Vincent whose dances were always one of the highlights for me. Sorry Erin has gone too. She added a touch of class to the place that is sadly missing without her.

And I'm very glad to see Craig is back as I had read somewhere that he wasn't going to participate this year. It really would not be the same without him.

So all in all I'm looking forward to the kick-off. I'm not expecting a Matt moment though, even though lightning does strike multiple times in the same place

Afternoon

It's raining! Mr B would need to warp up himself warm tongiht on the OS.

Loved last night CF and they showed Matt’s first clip at the beginning of the program so I was very happy. I didn’t have to wait like I had to do last week. Matt is Mr Artistic, isn’t he.

Hi all - thank you for filling the gaps. Sweet memories! When I saw Matt’s picture on the apron I was wondering who could have possibly made it other than the Bakerettes. And interestingly he has taken a photo with the lady who wearing it. Now it all clear and we have the proof that he saw it. Wonderful!

Matt's back into his favourite red jumper, it has been raining most of the day and is chilly so its only fair that he puts it on
good to see that the razor has stayed in the cupboard
Bob was a good guest, very funny that he could sing cliff Richards songs from hearing a couple of lines of lyrics

It's the 19th of August on The One Show with guest Jane Horrocks. One of the VTs was about fracking - a word I just can't take seriously

Matt was wearing a black cardigan, lemon shirt, and black jeans

Rating for last night's One Show 3.72m (19% audience share). It was the 9th most watched show of the day. Emmerdale is going through a good spell at the moment - it's getting 37% share and before it has been as low as 32% so I think The One Show is coping pretty well against it.

It was the TV Choice Awards last night too. I've been trying to see if Matt was attending but haven't found any pictures yet - both of his presenting partners were there as I've seen pictures of both Alex and Julia...

Hello,
Been looking at some pretty pictures. Isn't this nice:

And this is a look I definitely approve of - both the expression and the outfit

Biceps, lovely t-shirt, knees, and beautiful smile. What's not to like
