![]() Much merriment on the OS tonight, Ian H is a very naughty boy with his references to the bosses at the Beeb! He's always cheeky As was Matt tonight, with his pretend reading, his jokes around the 'Wipers' magazine and general bonhomie in the studio tonight. A lovely relaxed programme Matt got very involved with the story of the young lad who is overcoming AHDH and his love of skating.....think we all needed the Kleenex at that point. We've had a fabulous CF on Sunday and then two excellent OSs on the trot.....we've been spoilt. Only blot on the horizon is the constant use of sweaters and it's only going to get worse However, it's not all bad...gorgeous KK pics from the Summer Special with the wearing of a royal blue one!....http://m1098.photobucket.com/albumvi...13805.png.html http://m1098.photobucket.com/albumvi...14015.png.html http://m1098.photobucket.com/albumvi...15605.png.html Yes, I looked briefly for pics of Matt at the TV Awards bash last night but it's been a fruitless search. Obviously preferred an evening in with his lovely family - who can blame him ![]() So it's time to get on with the evening chores......it never ends CCM to everyone, pleasant dreams  xx

Evening ![]() Wasn’t it a lovely to start the OS tonight? We are going to see a series of multi-colour cardi and jumper selections on the OS. I think Matt’s lost -weight slightly; wonder is he getting ready for his next CiN challenge and what is going to be. I hope his back is ok. He said ‘me back is killing me’ on CF. It seems such a long process and he was banding over the table while doing that lino artwork thing.Quote:
Rating for last night's One Show 3.72m (19% audience share). It was the 9th most watched show of the day. Emmerdale is going through a good spell at the moment - it's getting 37% share and before it has been as low as 32% so I think The One Show is coping pretty well against it.
It was the TV Choice Awards last night too. I've been trying to see if Matt was attending but haven't found any pictures yet - both of his presenting partners were there as I've seen pictures of both Alex and Julia... |

![]() A funny tos tonight, I've seen the trailer for the wipers times programme look like it could good, the wipers time sound like a good paper with funny reporting and fake agony aunt page and peeps admitting to reading a book by Alex called the valleys . Ian was a good guest, bit of a hold the breathe moment when chatting about the headline on the private eye next week but a great showMatt all wrapped up again in a cardie, think they will be here to stay for a few months, least the stubble and good hair is still there

Also, my feeling is there won't be a physical challenge for The One Show team (at least not Matt & Alex) this year. Their involvement in the CiN launch makes it feel like they're going to be more involved on the night itself to me. I could be totally wrong, but last year's launch promotion focused on the people involved in the evening show (like Terry, Fearne, Tess, and Nick). And I wouldn't be surprised if his back does hurt sometimes - a few broken verterbrae probably twinge a bit And he does have arthritis a bit too as a result of the gymnastics...

Because you're a weirdo
![]() In the Holmfirth pics he's heavily stubbled and the light makes it look more like a beard - which I know you don't like - so that could be part of the reason. He does also look older because of the angles and light so that could be part of it too... And here's my black background pic: http://d3j5vwomefv46c.cloudfront.net...png?1378663699 )think you might be right about the stubble tho. I've come to the conclusion I like stubble & babybum in equal amounts. But Holmfirth was bordering on a bernard and in that light it entered bernard teritory......... ![]() Quote:
Emma - honestly, Matt can't afford to lose weight; there's not much there to lose... If anything for the challenges he has to put some weight on in the first place through muscle build up.

Even during the SCD tour & RC1 he didn't seem much different to other times. What is deceptive I think is the way he sits, stands and the wierd camera angles on TT. AJ is very, very, very slim but the other day my mother commented on how she 'looks like she's put a bit of weight on'. The TT camera angles are very very unflattering! and his posture is rubbish unless he's on the move which doesn't help and the thing with his back.....this might be me being wierd again but this might be an indication he isn't training for anything. I've been very active all my life til the last 18 months (BIOBubbas) and in that time I've had problems with my knee which I've never had before and my back has been worse than it is when I'm running regularly. I started getting back into running again 3 weeks ago and my knee has fixed itself.

I agree with KK here in that I'm not expecting a RC3 this year or anything like that. However I do think M&A may have a big part in the actual night. Partly I think this as I think thats the only way Matt would be able to resist the idea of another 'challenge'. Deep down I don't expect M to still be on TT this time next year so I'd imagine the chance for another crack at a big challenge would appeal as TT is such a good vehicle for that kind of thing.
I think he'd need to be offered something really good for him to leave - it's got to be hard to walk away from something that pays (at a conservative estimate) over £150K a year and guarantees the public know who you are (which helps secure the after dinner speaking and awards show jobs too!) I think he'd have walked away after 2 years if he was going to keep it short term. Even if he was offered his own show - either a documentary series or a Saturday night "shiny floor" entertainment thing - I could see him still keeping up The One Show hosting and just taking a break for a number of weeks whilst doing something else. Evening
KK, I thought there is weight loss around his neck over a period of time which was why I did wonder whether he has been jogging or doing some activities as such. In my eyes, it became more slightly slander than it used to be. Changing gradually so not too obvious…And on last year main CiN show, Matt did say something like £ 1m is a lot of money and his view it’s worthwhile so why not put a bit of effort and raise money those who are in need. So it made me wonder what they might do for fundraising as it certainly attracts more OS viewers. They (M&A and OS production team) might find a way to aid CiN or may be they wind it down and decide not to do anything big. Another thing came across my mind was Matt and Alex hosted SR Mile Live coverage and ran a mile and now Matt is calling people to join the charity race so is it possible that they would host the live coverage of the charity race? I couldn’t think of anything honestly but as you said it is likely that they would get more involved with the main show. I’d love to see them…but still… if he can help fundraising while is still fit and capable to do, that would be brilliant, would it. It doesn’t have to be exactly like rickshaw challenge though. ![]() ![]() And what I'm saying is I believe Matt & Alex are more likely to be involved in hosting Children in Need that performing any sort of physical challenge. That's based on how they are positioned in the launch videos relative to last year. And I think for both of them they have the common sense to realise being involved in that sort of way is better for their careers. I could be completely wrong, but I'd prefer that to happen than another physical challenge. It doesn't mean there won't be a challenge shown on The One Show, I just don't necessarily think Matt or Alex will be doing it. The show consistently does stuff for the charity and thats unlikely to stop. But I agree with bee - I don't think Matt is in training for anything right now |

Hellaw. I find myself joining in with this little debate not from the point of view of what I think but what the man himself says. He does change weight....a stone and half lost during RC.

Unlike a lot of people around here I don't see why Matt won't be on The One Show next year. It's consistent work, gets a decent audience, keeps him in the public eye, and ensures a good standard of living for his family.
I think he'd need to be offered something really good for him to leave - it's got to be hard to walk away from something that pays (at a conservative estimate) over £150K a year and guarantees the public know who you are (which helps secure the after dinner speaking and awards show jobs too!) Well, hormones during and after pregnancy cause muscles to relax which is why a lot of women develop problems with ligaments. It probably is helping now the girls are 18 months old your body is getting back to normal and running again will be getting you back together. Glad your back in the groove again ![]() I don't think being pregnant explains Matt's posture though ![]() Loved Matt's look tonight. I'm getting used to the patches on the elbows of that jacket that he obviously loves almost as much as his red jumper Bill Bailey was funny too. I think his teasing was taken in good spirit and Matt got on with him fine. I started to watch The Wipers tonight after Ian's appearance yesterday, but I couldn't really get on with it. I like the idea, but something about the production doesn't work for me and I can't put my finger on what it is. |

Hellaw Just a personal observation ... I saw him on RC1 several times and I saw him in Durham on the torch relay 7 months later and to my eye he looked quite a bit heavier in Durham, (he'd put back the weight he'd lost and a little bit more I would say) but he's lost a little of that again now. He still looked totally amazing on both occasions tho

Rating for last night's The One Show 3.81m (20% share). Didn't bother with Tuesday's figures as they were rather distorted by BBC Scotland switching to the football 20 minutes into the programme!
Emmerdale is apparently coming to the end of a really big storyline which is why they're doing so well at the moment but I do think The One Show is holding up OK against it. The 20% share is right where they've always been really

So... another Rickshaw Challenge starting in Northern Ireland Interesting and very much wished for by our celtic sisterhood!
We'll just have to wait and see as to whether Matt is hands on but I can't see him sitting in the studio whilst it's going on. |

Evening
I have been putting together Matt’s Olympics related memories in fanvids. I meant to complete the clips by the end of July but too busy to get them done. Here, a few clips managed to complete and uploaded so far: Pre-Olympics 2012 Blue Peter's Big Olympic Tour Live 16 June 2012 Olympic Torch Relay Day 29 County Durham 16 June 2012 East Enders Billy's Olympic Nightmare (Red Button 16 July + the OS 17 July) 2012 Countryfile at Shrophere 22 July 2012 Part 1 Countryfile at Shrophere 22 July 2012 Part 2 Countryfile at Shrophere 22 July 2012 Part 3 The One Show Live Interview from Olympic Park Studio 24 July 2012 London Olympics 2012 Day 1 North Greenwich Arena Olympics London 2012 Artistic Gymnastics Men's QF Sub-divisions introduction First glimpse of Matt Olympics London 2012 Artistic Gymnastics Men's QF SD1 (First 15 minutes of live coverage, Matt mentioned about Epke since but I had no idea who he was talking about until I saw the apparatus finals) Will try to complete the rest and post them later. PS. I am not sure you can view them all but KK has done some already which are worthwhile to re-watch. And now we have been confirmed by Tarry this evening that Matt is up for next the OS rickshaw challenge. New team, new route lad by the one and only Mr B? From Belfast to London? Probably not. Will have to wait and see. |

![]() Very good last few mins of tos, looks like we are going to get another rickshaw challenge in Northern Ireland, going to be interesting how they are going to do it this year. matt looking good and a happy bouncy matt, had a little laugh as both matt and alex said how bad bruce w was when he was on tos as they were chatting with terry about another American guest that had a bad interview when on terry's chat show.Terry was a good guest, chatty as always. |

![]() September......time for us to start getting our knickers in a twist about CIN then ![]() well this is a prime example of why you should NEVER listen to me......RC3.........bring it on ![]() they've announced it early this year haven't they? My gut feeling is that it'll be a team effort. Matt might get back in the saddle again but I certainly don't think he'll be doing the whole thing. I'm mostly wondering what will make it different this year. A relay? against the clock like the round the world thingy with Julia? or maybe he's been working on Riktoria in his shed all summer and now she's amphibious with wings like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang ![]() whatever happens it seems its going to kick off in N Ireland which, inconvenient as it may be for most of us, seems only fair. Then I guess through NW & midlands to London. kind of hoping he does get back in the lycra - even if he's just supporting like last year. I still can't glimpse a luminous jacket clad cyclist without having flashbacks of a slightly panicky but mostly thuddy nature....even if it does generally turn out to be a middle aged weekend cyclist working off his sunday dinner. another year...another rickshaw challenge. Time to dust off the pudsey ears I guess

Enthusiastic as he is he is also very clever & careful with what he says especially in situations like that. I agree TT is a good gig & way too valuable to give up lightly. Of course he would only move on to something better. They are clearly settled for the foreseeable future with the kids at school and the makings of a zoo in the garden so I don't think he's planning of upping sticks permanently. I just wonder about whether it limits him in any other directions he may want to go. We all know the umpteen million things he could do & things he's said he wants to do....most of them aren't possible when he's doing TT. just my thoughts and no - I don't think he's pregnant. But if he is I'm more than happy to borrow Cookies Olympic torch and poke him right back
