I just finished listening to Matt’s Open Country episode - Sherwood Forest. I have listened to almost all of Matt’s OC episodes. This was one of quite a few I didn’t get the chance to listen to. Really a great episode as always… and I wished I could see him in actions and I found the conversations between (very giggly) Matt and Sherwood Forest ranger Clare at the end of the program were really fascinating!

M: You know, very interestingly this is where I found my Maid Marian because believe it or not this spot is where I proposed to my wife.
C: Wow! That’s a story! And did she say ‘yes’?
M: She did say ‘yes’.
C: First time?
M: Yes, she did. I tell you I was so nervous but yeah it's a very special place for me this.....
C: Why did you choose here then?
M: Well, Nicola was in the University of Nottingham. And I was down in London; and then do what we could and meet up when we could we have and this is just a special place we used to come here and it seemed fitting so this is where I got down on my knees.
C: Brilliant! Brilliant! What a lovely story!
M: Yeah, I know it is and it is wonderful to be back here today and I have a wonderful time, I really have but let’s just keep our fingers cross that with all the rest of restoration works and everything, you know our grandchildren’s grandchildren have a beautiful place to come and visit as well.

I didn’t know Mr Baker is that romantic!

I couldn’t believe my ears! And He has already had a plan for his grandchildren’s grandchildren - the Baker Clan/Empire!

Indeed! Gymnastics World Cup Highlights is on BBC One at 1.15pm tomorrow. How did I forget about it? I heard Daniel Purvis has won a silver. Did you see the live steam from here?

Have managed to catch up last week strictly and I found the show itself has been overrated and losing its credibility. Really cringe-worthy! I won’t be watching live as usual but good luck to all the contestants. I’d like to see Aliona dancing to a great routine again this week.

A good strictly, some odd marking I think. the 10's were coming out thick and fast, even craig got his 10 paddle out

Think patrick will be in the dance off.

Don't think patrick danced well tonight, the paso wasn't great, the waltz was ok, but didn't like the floor swing half way through, think nerves might have got the better of him.
Susanna foxtrot was good and she gave the salsa plenty of welly, it was a bit messy but fun.
I wouldn't have gave abbey samba a 10, thought she went wrong during the dance, her AS was good
I really liked sophie paso, it was great and a good AS
A full house of 10's for natalie salsa it was very good, fabulous dress. The AT was really good too, Atrem would have looked better in black trews instead of bright red one's

I thought both of Susanna's dances were awful! The foxtrot was hideously twee and overacted and the salsa looked exactly like her samba (messy and overacted!

). I think she is probably going to win this thing and that'll be the worst winner since Chris Hollins...

Patrick didn't do well and he's going to be going home if he's in the dance off.

Natalie's salsa is one of the few dances in Strictly that I think merited the 40 - but I think it guarantees she can't win the show. Nobody has ever scored 40 before the final and won the competition. Of the 2 contestants this year in that position I think Abbey stands a better chance of winning.

Sadly for me I don't think either of the dancers I think are good (Natalie & Abbey) will win. It's going to be Susanna (thanks to Kevin) or Sophie (who I find mediocre but she seems to have a very vocal fanbase)

A good cf as well, cute lambs with a little arthur such a sweet little lad. Matt talking to naught the deer.

I hope Susanna doesn't win, while Sophie can dance well and I like her, I don't think she dances well enough to win

I wouldn't mind abbey winning, unfortunately I don't think Natalie will if she can from top of the leader board and end up in the dance off which was a bit of a surprise. Really hope she doesn't go out 1st next week

Morning all. Not a bad rating for Countryfile last night given it was on at 6pm 6.23m viewers (29.8% audience share)

Really good show for Matt too - 3 substantial bits of VT illustrating again how well it works when Matt can film everything in one location or on a single journey.

Evening all

A funny tos with jack and his dad. A good laugh and lots of joking between them, a very enjoyable

Matt looking good in a red velvet jacket the best thing about it, it hid the shirt, didn't like it much, but nice and stubbly. Bonus vt matt footage at westfield chatting to peeps about there xmas presents, looking good in a lovely blue jumper and white tshirt

Evening all

What a bundle of laughs Catherine was. Couldn't of been happier if she tried, not a happy Catherine made for a difficult show, another guest to be put on the don't ask back list.
She getting a bit of hard time on twit for being so miserable

At least Matt looked wonderful in his waistcoat,

he was happy and bouncy. Alex and matt had a nice little chat about her Nan yodelling.

Looks like they got loads of xmas cards now, they are hanging up at the windows looking lovely

After the very funny OS on Monday with the Whitehalls and then miserable CT on Tuesday (agree with you totally SkyBlue!)and today we get a really mixed bag of guests

Ricky G was being a bit of an idiot at the beginning, he needed some reining in but he did behave better at the end

There was much mirth over the 'Robbie Biggs' faux pas by Alex (poor lady, she didn't have the best time) and there was some delightful carol singing en masse. Plus of course the dear elderly ladies on the opposite sofas having a lovely cosy chat with Matt, and a group of hardy consumers testing several Christmas dinners by celebrity chefs

Bet they suffered afterwards....

CF on Sunday was fabulous, as you said KK M's pieces were very
good as they followed on beautifully. And we seemed to have him on camera for slightly longer than usual!

So after tomorrow we have the last OS of 2014 with Matt hosting

, However, we have the Christmas CF Special on Sunday (I'll be out

) and some more Mattage on the 29th and 30th December, hopefully we will see him on the 5th Jan CF and OS starting again on the 6th. So not too bad, could be worse!

How does he do it, matt looked absolute fabulous tonight,

bonus standing up at the start, lovely stubble and hair and a very happy bouncy matt

Matt’s birthday on next Monday, isn’t it? I have checked the OS website and it seems tomorrow show is the last live OS Matt would be hosting in 2013. I don’t think the OS - Best of 2013 would be a live broadcasting to be aired on 30 Dec 2013 at 1.20pm (quite early) and they will be back on 6 Jan 2013.”

Emma, thanks for the pictures

It won't be a live One Show for the end of year - I believe it's been filmed already and included a sketch where Matt & Alex dressed up as removal men and took the sofa from the old studio. I think they will be moved into the new Broadcasting House studio at the start of next year as it appeared to be ready to open in the photos I saw:

I know Matt likes to go to his parents farm in Durham - but at the same time I hope he and his family have a nice relaxing time in their home too - probably with a pantomime to attend again.

It does seem sometimes like people still think the farm in County Durham is his real home but he's lived in the Tring area for as long as he lived on the farm in Durham so I think that's as much home for him now

It looks like the OS – Best of 2013 would be a good fun to watch. Look forward to see sofa moving Matt and Alex, and the OS new home next year. Spotted a message below posted by a man calling Matt ‘a handsome chap’ and over-reactions to it by those are thought to be in serious pains. Does that comment really matter to them to take it so seriously? What’s the point? They just can’t care less; or could they? I found it quite funny though at the same time I feel sympathy for them. Just a little bit.

Evening all

What lovely guests martin and amanda were, it was so nice to have nice chatty guests, they were teasing us about sherlock and what they couldn't tell us about sherlock which was most of it
