Evening everyone. Definite evidence of snow day yesterday in the TV ratings with an amazing 5.75m (23.6%) for a Friday night One Show! I hope this snow sticks around as at that rate it could be 6m on Monday

(I'll admit I watched it last night when I don't normally because of Ben Miller...)

Tomorrow's Countryfile could benefit from the weather too - sounds like it'll be good too. The team are on Exmoor and Matt is following the trail of Lorna Doone. I like episodes where he gets to wander around with a book

I like book episodes too. Serious Matt. He goes all "romantic" when he reads from a book - except for The Famous Five obviously.

Amazing stats for The One Show at the moment. Dare I wonder if last night's high figure was due to the wonderful Ben Miller being on? Death in Paradise has been a big hit after all, and he is popular. I was trying to remember the name of the comedy series he did where he was getting married - was it The Worst Week of My Life?

No more snow today, it's just very cold out there. Only went out to walk the hound

Ah, summer seems like a distant memory, doesn't it. Will we ever see the henleys and t-shirts again I wonder. Still, I quite like the muted colours here, and of all the hats Matt wears beanies are my favourite - in fact they're the only ones I like.

Afternoon all

On this very dull and miserable January afternoon a pic spam or two is very welcome. Well, unless we have a deluge overnight our snow seems to be melting rapidly. Too cold to veture out so CF followed by Midwife is the order of the night - with takeaway for No1 sons birthday - perfect. No need to get the wellies /canoe or toboggan or other seasonal paraphanalia.

I watched T1S Friday as well - Ben Miller was wonderful but thew weskit would have looked better on someone else

Evening all

How's everyone on this snowy day, Its been snowing all day, it stopped for a short while and started again a bit heavier now.

A good cf, poor wet soggy matt, the weather in Exmoor looked terrible and very damp, wet and cold.
Beautiful shires pulling the carriage, think matt was enjoying the ride in the 4x4 over the moors

Adams highland baby cows are very sweet and look cuddly.

Happy birthday to no1 son lotus, Perfect combo CF and a takeaway, no cooking

Good morning! Rating for last night's show 19:00 - Countryfile: 6.61m (24.8%). Now only 0.35m viewers behind Dancing on Ice which is a fabulous result

Countryfile is up 0.13m viewers on the same week last year and DOI is down 0.23m viewers

That's great! Getting better and better. Being followed by Call the Midwife probably helps too. That is apparently very popular.

Afternoon all. We have the first week of full ratings for the year online and as ever Countryfile and 3 out of 4 One Show episodes are in the BBC1 top 30 (I'm ignoring Friday as until this week it didn't do very well)

Countryfile (13/01 from Hertfordshire)
12/30 with 6.44m

The One Show
Tuesday (08/01 - guest Davina McCall) - 4.83m
Monday (07/01 - guest Rory Bremner) - 4.78m
Thursday (10/01 - guest Frank Skinner) - 4.75m

With these ratings The One Show would have been ranked 19-21 on ITV

- And I'm sure Wednesday's (and even Friday's) episodes would have been up there too

Well, it was the last day of the Artistic Gymnastics at the NGA where the finals of Men's Parallel and Horizontal Bars, Women's Beam and Floor Exercise disciplines were taken place. It was an early start and early finish (during office hours) so I missed it out when it went on air though I did catch up on the live steam and a few bits on BBC 1.

The BBC showed a clip of the young Olga first time ever attempted the backflip on the Beam, later I have learnt from Matt and Christine that it is now also known as the Korbut flip (possibly named after her). Jenny mentioned that it has now become one of the required elements in that discipline. When the finalists of the Women's Beam were being introduced Matt was still chatting with Olga and Jenny as we can see them in these pics (just behind the girls so we can guess where he interviewed them.)

Evening all

No more snow today, tho it does look bad in the durham area they were showing consett on the news.

A difference tos tonight with no proper guest, drag a presenter or 2 and have a chat about the weather, it turned out fine.
Sounds like matt had a good weekend, making a snow shark , looked really good with added cattot theeth and smashed up tom's for blood.
Matt looked lovely, nice blue jumper, good stubble.

A late might wave to you all. Lovely show tonight and lovely guests with no personal reasons for appearance made such a difference. And as for JAWS mark 2 complete with blood stained fangs - whatever happened to good old snowmen

still that is the creative side coming out.

As for CF rating the beeb really have Sunday nights sown up - Blandings,CF, Midwife and Ripper Street all wonderful shows. DOI does not seem to be emulating the success of SCD

Well snow here has virtually disappeared but very icy instead. The B*****r clan appear to be snowed in yet again, So glad of our little microclimate down here

Hello – lovely One Show, very cute mini B one and two, gorgeous Matt and lovely cuddly dog (Tia?). She is a gentle giant, she behaved very well. She got the gentle strokes from Mr B, lucky doggie! What a nicest way to relax and enjoy the evening after a long working day. Hope everyone is ok.

Great to know the OS viewing figures is going up. Fantastic news, maybe a bit of showy weather helps.

A really good tos, Bernard was a good chatty guest
matt was just thuding lovely, nice waistcoat and unbuttonage with pently of stubble, The st bernard was huge and lovely, got loads of cuddles from matt, lucky lucky tia

The mini B's are sweet, got to see bernard new childrens prog.
