![]() Thanks for all the latest picspams KK, all completely wonderful! This is lovely from the first One Show of the year: http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...29at205924.png There's a beautiful one that I saw from the last couple of picspams but I'll have to revisit them (shame ) to find it again.Yes, SkyBlue, Matt was indeed covered up in many layers on tonight's CF. As he said, the water was 'Baltic', his feet must have been absolutely frozen No wonder he didn't offer to swim. The open swimmer looked perished but said the swim gave him a 'high'! I don't like swimming at the best of times but that looked something else ![]() There have been some wonderful One Shows this week, all very different in their randomness including Matt smelling the durian fruit and subsequent hilarious consequences He's such a joker!Looking forward to 6.57pm tomorrow night when MrB appears again, in the meantime CCM to all lovely readers and posters. xx PS Thank you Emma too for all your great pictures and comments, and it was lovely to have Matt's wardrobe choices all gathered together for us to thud over, it was a labour of love

Another good week for Countryfile in the ratings. It got 6.41m viewers (27% audience share) and was the 2nd most watched programme on the day (only beaten by Call the Midwife).
![]() It was a good show too - I really love The Lake District and The Langdales are a particularly pretty area that looked amazing in that wintry light. Matt may have only had about 10 minutes airtime last night but they were well spent (even that was pretty good going as he would have lost over an hour of filming to travel between his locations - and he would have only had about 8 hours available filming time). |

![]() Bonus standing at the start of tos , matt all wrapped up in a mixture of colours ,the stubble is coming along nicely. A serious show talking about the floods, a bit a fun chatting to shane about reflex, matt would like to have a go on the show, watched about 10 mins of it a few weeks ago, it's not great. |

![]() A good show with timothy, matt looked good in his jacket maybe a new shirt. Don't remember seeing it before Got his flat cap out for the piggy racing outside , funny that all the pigs made a bee line for matt and his bucket of treats ![]() Hope the guy manages to keep the flood water out of his house, scary being in the middle of all that flood water It's terrible for those who have had flooding it's going to take months and months to put right. Luckily we live up a hill and not in a flooding area, so we are safe from all the water |

Morning all.
![]() There were great ratings for the Wednesday hour long One Show - it got 4.93m viewers (21.5% audience share). It's likely that when the official rating comes out for that show it will be over 5m viewers. This was up a million viewers on the week before and shows how well the programme can pick up viewers when it does something topical. It benefited last night's show too as some people stuck around so that managed 4.72m viewers and a 23% audience share And I'm hoping to be able to do some picspams this weekend

Hi all Just recovered from flu…still having cough which is bad and tiring, the good thing is having a bit time to watch back a few of Matt’s old BP clips and I spotted something I didn’t manage before, that is Matt’s abilities on ice and snow. When I watched Best of 2012 OS on Ice last year, I did wonder how well he can skate. I know he can as I saw him gliding well on ice in that BP bloopers clip but my question was at which level. Now I found some clues. Here is a mini clip I put his winter sports adventures together. http://youtu.be/ArwVKy1Vt68 Other than showboarding and ice skating, Matt was cartwheeling, not in Cuban heels on the dancefloor but in his skate boots in the ice rink. Somebody at the backstage was passing him an umbrella after the cartwheel bit which gave me the impression that he was going to use it as a prob. And he was performing a group number on ice in front of the live audience in an arena (no idea where it was). Finally, ice hockey round – how can anyone play ice hockey if they cannot glide through and well controlled on ice well, won’t they. My eyesight is poor but that’s not an optical illusions. Correct me if I am wrong though. So I draw a conclusion that Matt does well on ice and snow far better than I originally thought. No wonder he wasn't get invited on DOI. He won't do either to up against CF anyway but I think he and Beth (and Louis) can do some opening sequences on ice before the Euro Championships in April. ![]() On other notes, as it is 14 February so I uploaded a clip of Matt returns to the OS after winning strictly live tour 2011. http://youtu.be/VuAsdUcaBpw The quality isn’t good as it is on the VHS that I recorded on my small analogue TV/VHS recorder. I was lodging when it was aired so didn’t have facilities there. I couldn’t capture it on the device to digitise it at the moment either cos it doesn’t have an output source. Anyway, this is for anyone like to look back the day Matt returned to the OS from strictly live tour 2011. Let me tell ya, poor boy looking v tired. Weekly countryfile filming and performing 8 shows a week made him ran down but what a marvellous achievement at the end and we had 18-25 mins of Matt on CF episodes during that period! Happy memories! No Matt on OS tonight, not sure he’s filming CF today but I hope he and Nicola have a proper lovely time together. Btw, they married in 2004 so they are going to make their 10th wedding anniversary landmark in (June?) which coincides with their black lab Annie’s birthday. She’ll be 2 this year (I think). ![]() Quote:

It’s a bit of CF-OS cross-functional program, isn’t it. Some of OS viewers were offering helps they can and showed what yf have done to help farmers effected by the flood so all worked well together. Last night piggy racing was a good fun. Not surprised all piggies went to Matt but when Alex mentioned about it I couldn’t help myself but to LOL. |

Hi all
Clips of Matt presenting the Nature of Britain in 2007, I meant to post them long, long ago but too busy to complete editing. Now they are on. Apart from looking very young, his presenting and interviewing styles and expressions were the same we see him now-a-day. The quality wasn't v good but he looked lovely in close-ups sample pics: Vid Nature of Britain 2007~Coastal http://i1280.photobucket.com/albums/...1.jpg~original http://i1280.photobucket.com/albums/...2.jpg~original Vid Nature of Britain 2007~Farmlands http://i1280.photobucket.com/albums/...1.jpg~original http://i1280.photobucket.com/albums/...2.jpg~original Vid Nature of Britain 2007~Freshwater http://i1280.photobucket.com/albums/...1.jpg~original http://i1280.photobucket.com/albums/...2.jpg~original Vid Nature of Britain 2007~Urban http://i1280.photobucket.com/albums/...1.jpg~original http://i1280.photobucket.com/albums/...2.jpg~original Vid Nature of Britain 2007~Wilderness http://i1280.photobucket.com/albums/...1.jpg~original http://i1280.photobucket.com/albums/...2.jpg~original http://i1280.photobucket.com/albums/...3.jpg~original Vid Nature of Britain 2007~Woodlands http://i1280.photobucket.com/albums/...1.jpg~original http://i1280.photobucket.com/albums/...2.jpg~original Matt also co-presented Countryfile: The Summer Diaries in 2007. There is no trace of clips/videos in the archive unfortunately, but the episode guides on the website gave us some clues. I don’t know who was his co-presenter though some names look so familiar. 20 Aug 2007 Bovey Castle Countryfile spin-off series presented by Matt Baker and Melissa Porter. Matt and Melissa take a trip to Bovey Castle in the middle of Dartmoor, while Prunella Scales revisits the Devon village to which she was evacuated during the Second World War. Michelin-starred chef Michael Caines introduces his cookery strand, comic Sue Perkins takes a look at the charming eccentricities of Devon and gardening expert Christine Walkden pays a visit to a private cottage-style garden. 21 Aug 2007 Burgh Island Countryfile spin-off series presented by Matt Baker and Melissa Porter. Matt and Melissa take a trip to the tiny Burgh Island off the coast from Bigbury-on-Sea. Elsewhere in the county, Myleene Klass tries out a Devon mini-break for astronomy enthusiasts and comic Sue Perkins visits the coastal locations that inspired Agatha Christie. Also featuring recipes with Michael Caines, gardening tips from Christine Walkden and an update from the busy veterinary practice on Dartmoor. On CF website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0144xcr 22 Aug 2007 Tamar Valley Countryfile spin-off series presented by Matt Baker and Melissa Porter. Matt and Melissa are in the Tamar Valley on the Cornish border, where actor Geoffrey Palmer demonstrates the joys of angling and chef Michael Caines shares his recipes for freshwater fish. There's also a sheep dog demonstration, another visit to a garden by Christine Walkden and a report from Sue Perkins on her exhaustive and physically gruelling quest to find the best cream tea in Devon! 23 Aug 2007 Ashburton Countryfile spin-off series presented by Matt Baker and Melissa Porter. Devonian TV presenter Tim Wonnacott challenges Matt and Melissa to find an authentic Devon momento or souvenir while visiting the antique heartland of Ashburton, a Dartmoor market town. There's also gardening with Christine Walkden, cookery with Michael Caines and a chance to hear the latest from the Dartmoor vets. 24 Aug 2007 The Tors Countryfile spin-off series presented by Matt Baker and Melissa Porter. Matt and Melissa visit the stunning moorland of Dartmoor, where folk music sensation Seth Lakeman performs on his favourite bit of the moor and TV presenter Melinda Messenger takes her family on a moorland hike. There's also gardening with Christine Walkden, an update from the Dartmoor vets and some Sunday lunch suggestions from chef Michael Caines. 27 Aug 2007 Buckfastleigh Countryfile spin-off series presented by Matt Baker and Melissa Porter. In an interview from her mother's garden, successful soul diva Joss Stone talks to Matt Baker about how her Devon childhood inspired her music. Sue Perkins experiences Berry Pomeroy Castle, reportedly the most haunted castle in Britain, and the team explore the scenic South Devon Railway. 28 Aug 2007 Start Bay Countryfile spin-off series presented by Matt Baker and Melissa Porter. Matt and Melissa pull on their walking boots to try out the famous South West Coastal path, and have a go at a new alternative sport, Paddle Surfing, which is a cross between surfing and canoeing. Christine Walkden visits Blackpool Gardens, a world of plants in one secret South Devon garden. 29 Aug 2007 Salcombe Countryfile spin-off series presented by Matt Baker and Melissa Porter. Matt and Melissa are in the property hot spot of Devon, where coastal retreats can fetch millions of pounds. Gardener Christine Walkden finds horticultural inspiration in the South Hams, Jenny Bond takes to the skies with the Devon Air Ambulance, chef Michael Caines presents a sophisticated three course menu and there's another instalment of the daily documentary from the Dartmoor Vets Practice. 30 Aug 2007 Chagford / Castle Drogo Countryfile spin-off series presented by Matt Baker and Melissa Porter. Matt and Melissa visit the National Trust's Castle Drogo, Britain's newest castle. Gardener Christine Walkden discovers the castle garden's links to the arts and crafts movement, chef Michael Caines creates some tasty vegetarian dishes using local seasonal produce and Oz Clarke starts his wine trail recommending fine vintages from around Devon. 31 Aug 2007 Dartmoor / General Countryfile spin-off series presented by Matt Baker and Melissa Porter. Matt and Melissa are set separate challenges, with Melissa being hoisted into the treetops of an outdoor activity centre while Matt competes with farmer Adam Henson in a sheep-shearing challenge. Chef Michael Caines hosts the perfect Devon barbecue, Lotte Duncan and Oz Clarke reach the end of their wine trail around Devon and there's a final visit to the Dartmoor Vets Practice, where we catch up with some former patients. Well, interesting competition between Matt and Adam went on there. You see, Matt wasn't a new face to Countryfile team when he joined them in March 2009. Am I not right?

Hi Emma. Thank you for those videos. I hadn't seen those shows before - I'll share the links on twitter so more people can see them
![]() We know Matt wasn't new to Countryfile - his presenting of the Summer Diaries and how they did in the ratings was a factor in the revamping of Countryfile into an evening show. I didn't see much of them myself but from the descriptions I think the content is closer to what we see on Countryfile now rather than how it used to be
