Europe meant so much more to the Cardigan the second time round that in in the 2006/7 they won 1 out of 4 European matches, in 2007/8 they won 7 out of 19 matches, in 2008/9 they won 0 out of 2 matches, in 2009/10 they won 0 out of 6 matches and in 2010/11 they won 1 out of 10 matches.

9 matches out of 41, a win percentage of 21.9%.
one of the greats lol

He's not an Ally McCoist, and I'm not just saying this because I'm a Rangers fan.

If you mean he hasnt thrown a 15 point lead away, been knocked out of every cup competition his entered, been humiliated in 2 different european competitions in the space of a few weeks and produced a team that struggles to entertain v postmen, builders, teachers, dustbin men etc etc then yes he defiantly isn't an Ally McCoist.

Jesus Christ..

This is where I can prove some people wrong....

Provided both stay at their current jobs....

I bet McCoist brings Rangers back the top-flight & not only bring them back but starts a spell of dominance as well...

Not saying he'll do it right away though....

What is it with people rating this Lennon? Hope he stays at Celtic, it'll give Rangers a chance to retain the title a lot sooner....

Can't wait until he loses some of those players either.... Samaras, etc.

Developing Scottish players is where Lennon falls short....

Ally & his team are much stronger at that.

Rangers have always produced the better Scottish players lol, especially when Ally & Smith were there.

Look back....

Why I think it won't take too long for Rangers to win the title after they get back up there.

Especially with Celtic under Lennon.

Of course the fact that Celtic have amassed the lowest ever SPL winning points total (by possibly 10 points) should give us a true reflection on what Neil Lennon has achieved really this season.

I think it is fair to say that even Jock Stein could have managed Celtic to the title from beyond the grave ...

My mistake I must of missed that time when scottish sides were getting to the last 16 of the CL year and year out and beating the likes of barcelona.

Lets see the last scottish side to perform in the CL before Celtic were a side named Rangers in 2011 who couldnt even get past the qualifying round losing to Malmo. Thanks for the effort though.

You don't get judged on one result - let's not forget Celtic then went on the get absolutely gubbed in what can only be described as a pair of training exercises for a pretty average Juventus side.

Where was your great manager then - let me guess did the toys come out the pram??

Its not on one result though is it? We got past the qualifiers and then over a course of 6 games got through a difficult group. We then lost to a Juventus side who went the season unbeaten last year and have won another title. Please do tell me what makes this Juventus side pretty average?

It really is easier to live life not being a hater.

Celtic are heading in that direction...

Celtic may have made it to the last 16 of CL, somehow, but the intelligence that previous managers have brought is now gone.... the team now plays incoherently - Lennon has them running about at 100mph & like a bunch of headless chickens...

Their lucky run in Europe ends now.

An "average Juventus" side who are the Italian champions for the second season in a row and with the highest points total since 2006/7.

I think that whatever the Zombos are drinking tonight it must have been spiked, Either that or it is a full moon.

Previous managers at least brought intelligence with them, all I see now is 100mph passing & absolutely no thought process going forwards.... a distinct lack of purpose behind passes...

Bottom of group coming up.

No not really - why would it hurt??

You got a decent result against Barcelona but apart from that I think most Celtic fans would agree your team have been several levels below what is expected - your points total would back that up.

Unless of course you are suggesting Lennon should be manager of the year based on one result - not even you would be foolish enough to go down that path I guess ...

So you think we will qualify for the group stages then.

That'll be another £20m in the coffers.

3 away wins in Europe including doing what O'Neill and Strachan couldn't do and getting a CL away win, a league title and a cup final.

A piss poor season.

Yeah, weird, isn't it? Yet I still think those two were superior managers

Is it really 5 years ago today that the fans of Man City, Stockport County, Leicester, Ipswich and Chelsea (all with Scottish addresses though) ran riot in Manchester before, during and after the 2008 UEFA Cup final?
