Morton have accepted a bid for Michael Tidser, most likely from Rotherham,
good luck to him as he is a brilliant player and deserves a shot at a higher level however any enthusiasm or optimism i had for the new season is quickly fading. our 3 best players if Tids accepts will have left the club and our wage structure is such that they probably wont be replaced by players of a,similar quality

A new dawn has arrived for Scottish football after the SPL and SFL formally agree to merge and the new SPFL board appointed.
David Longmuir has apparently secured a decent pay off with Neil Doncaster set to follow and a CEO for the SPFL appointed in due course. |

according to the bbc it'll be Longmuir or Doncaster who will fill the role of CEO which is different to what the Sun believed earlier.

Morton lost 1-0 to Davie Weir's Sheffield United, former Motherwell player Porter(dont know the first name) with the only goal from the penalty spot.
Michael Tidser completed his move to Rotherham for £50000, a poor fee but expected when the chairman says he would accept that if offered in full |

The SPFL's first radical change to the game is that First Division teams need to allocate squad numbers and have names/numbers on the back of strips.

New SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster - wants to be judged on his results and he has done a good job thus far despite the turbulent times ... somebody pulling our plonker here??
What a deluded chap he must be. ![]() How have we managed to get a chief executive that nobody wants and reconstruction that isn't actually anything new - simply a case of re-shuffling the deckchairs on the Titanic. |

Must admit I am bit of a traditionalist and like to see the team numbered 1 to 11.
Let's hope the First Division clubs don't go down the ridiculous route some SPL clubs have taken with players wearing for example numbers 88, 53, 66 etc. |

For any punters, depending on your Bookie and whatever odds & places are available of course, have an each-way on Dumbarton FC for SPFL Div1 this coming season. Seen them v Hibs last week and they were very good, should have won, yesterday v CSS in Edinburgh, excellent too. Before i'm shot to pieces, the transformation under Ian Murray last season was amazing, Sons are a part-time club, but Murray has brought in a Full-Time Club ethos, e.g. balanced meals before a match and after, ice baths, warm downs, a Sports Psychologist etc. Team spirit is high, players were dying to re-sign for a part-time club with only one 2,000 seater Stand. I watched every home match last year, Sons were the only team in Div1 to beat every side, for this coming season the pitch has been shortened & narrowed.Have a wee punt folks

![]() I do expect them to be the best of the 3 part time teams and finishing 5th or 6th would be a real achievement for the Sons. |
