NOT A THING from either green or the SFA/SFL

noting to say WHEN they'd got the proper license to play

the only thing i heard was they had to get a TEMPORARY license to play their first game, it wasn't made clear what happened after that.

it just disappeared from the news altogether!

green had to go BACK and cut a deal to get the old license back, with stipulations .....

The company formally applied to acquire the SPL share of The Rangers Football Club plc on 18 June 2012. The SPL agreed to consider the request to transfer the share, but on 4 July, voted by 10–1 to reject the application. Kilmarnock abstained and the old Rangers company voted in favour.[81] Thereafter, an application to the Scottish Football League was successful with Rangers securing associate membership on 13 July 2012 at an SFL meeting by a vote of 29–1. On the same day a place in the fourth tier of Scottish Football, Scottish Third Division for the 2012–13 season, rather than the Scottish First Division from the two options presented to the SFL member clubs with 25 of the 30 clubs voting that the club should be placed in Division Three.[82][173][174]

An application was made for SFA membership on 29 June 2012, with the new company applying for the transfer of the membership of The Rangers Football Club plc as opposed to an application for a new membership.[175][176] Agreement was reached on the transfer with the new company accepting a number of conditions relating to the old company.[177]

so they did get the proper license to play then.

which PROVES that they are NOT a new football club with a NEW holding company!

and this PISH about it being a new club is garbage!

anyway onto football matters, the Mighty Ton keep on rolling forward, a convincing display against a very poor airdire scum team. comfortable 4-0 win that should have been a lot more, Airdire finished the game with 9 men

favourite song today was I want to go home, I want to go home, Airdrie's a sh***hole, I want to go home

Airdire really are a horrible team full of thugs that will deserve to be relegated.

I doubt the obsessed Rangers haters on this thread will agree, no doubt someone will be along soon to dig a knife in at anyone even hinting at defending Rangers.

Rangers were blackmailed into signing away media rights and all sorts of other stuff in order to get their licence transfered over, if they had refused to deal, they wouldnt have got their licence this season, and the sky deal would have gone down the pan.

in reality they had each other over a barrel.

SFA could force Craig Whyte bankrupt if he fails to pay the £200k fine he received. Lawyers for the SFA delivered a writ to his castle.

Whyte in turn wants to bankrupt the SFA and says the evidence used was flawed and wrong.

The sooner white is erased from football history the better, let him off with the 200k it could cost more to get it back.

Rangers have the same SFA membership the club has always had, for about 140 years. The SFA had to approve new owners of the club (i.e. them taking on the membership). The SFA exacted a price for that from Green & co.

We move on. Good 4-0 win for Rangers yesterday. Some good football expecially in the second half.

So why can The Rangers not compete in Europe for the next three years?

So why the need then for the temporary license to play against Brechin?

Rangers can't compete in Europe because they missed the deadline for accounts in Craig Whyte's time (months before Green & co took over).

The temporary licence was granted during the wrangling over the price for transfer of membership that I mentioned.

By the way, some fans of other clubs - usually Celtic - seem to think there's some item of detail that will be some sort of "magic bullet" that will prove Rangers aren't the same club as before. No bit of detail that is going to prove that.

Well done on beating the mighty teams in div 3. That inflated wage bill is proven to be well worth it.

Kris Commons on the reports that Rangers offered Juve Murray Park:

"They can train in my back garden, it would make no difference, If they want to train at a Division Three training ground, let them get on with it."
