Rangers can't compete in Europe because they missed the deadline for accounts in Craig Whyte's time (months before Green & co took over).
The temporary licence was granted during the wrangling over the price for transfer of membership that I mentioned. By the way, some fans of other clubs - usually Celtic - seem to think there's some item of detail that will be some sort of "magic bullet" that will prove Rangers aren't the same club as before. No bit of detail that is going to prove that. We will soon find out if it is indeed the same club if titles are stripped, just like the debts seem to belong to another club, after all, the new club are debt free??? |

I have noticed that every time the new clubs training ground is mentioned in the media now it is called Auchenhowie, it seems Murray Park no longer exists. Whatever did happen to the renaming Mr Green promised? |

Record Sport understands Juventus will train at Murray Park this morning and Gers have pushed their own session back to this afternoon to accommodate the Italians.
Lol. The small club in div 3 puts back their own training session to accommodate the big boys. Quote:
Juventus Football Club's Catholic Deacon Cesare Nosiglia today gave blessing and thanks on training ground of the Rangers , Murray Park , before Juventus trained at the Scotland complex. (Gazzetta dello Sport)
Even funnier ![]() They also got the team name correct. |

Green said: “If you look at the balance sheets at the end of next season you should see the strength of the two companies. You have to laugh “We are in the Third Division and Celtic are in the SPL and what I’d like you to do is promise me at the end of this season, when all the games are played, examine the balance sheets of the clubs and tell me which one is the strongest? “Then let’s see who has got the strongest balance sheet.

A couple more years in the CL and the club will be set up for a good few years. Not to mention the assets of the playing staff which will generate a nice bit of change when the time comes.

As for debts, they can get shed. A CVA is another way for a business to shed debt - and some clubs have been involved with that more than once. It's the way company law works and if anyone really doesn't like that I suggest they complain to the government. |

The company that used to run the club (the so-called oldco) was liquidated around the end of October 2012.
The club signs the players The club pays the salaries The club went bust. As of today - Whyte's company has not entered liquidation. Everyone from Charles Green to Jim Traynor said all the way into last summer that if the club couldn't agree a CVA that would be it, finito, kaputt, end of story - Rangers FC would be over. If the club is a continuation - why did Green buy the history? You just have to look at Gretna. FWIW, I couldn't care less if it's the same club or not - but I can fully understand those who believe it's a new club and it will be debated long into the future. |

But I don't really want to clog up the thread going on and on about this, going over ground which has been gone over many times before. Celtic fans in particular should have other things on their mind such as playing Juventus in the Champions League tomorrow. |

Companies often run things. Other companies can take on the running of those things. That can include football clubs. Is Celtic the club really the same thing as the former Pacific Shelf 595 Ltd (the company that runs Celtic)?

Celtic fans in particular should have other things on their mind such as playing Juventus in the Champions League tomorrow. That company was formed to protect the old name of the club when the name was changed in 1994 to Celtic FC plc |

This can be checked at Companies House. Now you can prove you couldn't care less and focus on your own club.
