To be honest, I don't really see an awful lot in those revelations. It's good practice to e-mail someone you've done an interview with to make sure they're happy with the quotes before it goes to press. It suggests some minor conflict of interest if he was also looking for a job at Rangers at the time, but I don't think it's any more than that.

The biggest indictment of Traynor is just reading the nonsense he comes out with in his own columns.

Forrest can not play in a role like last night. He doesnt have enough in his game to be used in such a way.

Don't recall ever reading or listening to Traynor on Radio Scotland on why he was looking to go to Rangers under Whyte, the man his paper exposed in June 2011.

A huge amount of damage has been done to Scottish Football both on the pitch, off it and in the press and someone's fingerprints are all over it.

ONCE again Rangers are the subject of an article by Alex Thomson, who appears obsessed by this club's business.

This time, however, he turns his attention on me in a most callous and disgusting manner.

Fortunately I've been the target of many bloggers many times because of the well, let's just say strident way I've gone about my work. So, if you give it out you have to take it back.

This is one of the unwritten laws of journalism but this person's blog cannot pass without comment. Incredibly, it's allowed to sit under Channel 4's name.

This man has set himself up as a paragon of integrity yet he relies on Craig Whyte as a credible source.

Does he not know the former Rangers owner is under Crown Office investigation?

Thomson publishes the content of emails in which I make it clear to Whyte that a story about his spending plans will start with the figure of £15m for new players. It was necessary to let Whyte view the piece so that it would be difficult for him to try to deny it later.

Of course he did try just the same but he knows he said it. I know he said it and so, too, should Thomson. If he's spoken to Whyte he'll also know what this man is like.

The email was sent not because Whyte was being given editorial approval, as Thomson appears to be making out, but because I wanted Whyte to see the figure.

Also, show me a journalist who hasn't used these methods to extract further information and I'll show a hack who wasn't doing his job.

It is necessary to get close to people in football if you are to gain possession of the intelligence required to do the job properly. And that brings me on to Thomson's other point.

He claimed I asked Whyte for a job. How utterly absurd.

This blogger conveniently forgets to mention it was my work, along with that of the Daily Record's Keith Jackson, which finally exposed Whyte and brought him down.

We had been gathering information about the Ticketus deal and also Whyte's failure to hand over PAYE and NI. It was a long process and vital that the line of communication with Whyte remained open.

The fact is he asked me to come and work with him on more than one occasion. He also asked if I would advise him privately.

A game was being played out and working for Rangers at that time wasn't the goal. In fact, I kept my newspaper informed of the offers through a senior editorial executive because it was important they were on side with the operation.

I also made sure a senior person at the BBC, with whom I had a contract, also knew.

One or two trustworthy colleagues also were made aware of what was going on and we actually laughed at the very thought of me working with someone we were determined to expose.

On any other day I'd have dismissed this latest blog without comment but this is a special time for Rangers. We are a year on from administration and are putting in place a solid structure under the new regime.

Rangers have released a documentary on that crucial year on this very site and that's what we should all be concentrating on. Enjoy, and stop worrying about bloggers.

One thing missing from the response - the threat of legal action.

The 'not guilty' pleas of Myra Hindlay and Ian Brady were more convincing than that. We are really supposed to believe that Jabba was just spinning him a line to keep him onside? Not a chance in hell. Why would Jabba need to keep in contact with Whyte if he was going to expose him? Whyte wouldn't exactly be volunteering information about Ticketus and not paying the PAYE to Traynor would he?

As for his claim that it was Jangle and him that took Whyte down, what a load of shite. All they did, ironically enough, was steal off of bloggers.

First game back for Kenny Shiels after a four game ban and he's sent to the stands.

He went to kick a water bottle but missed it, still at least he could bring Neil Lennon into it.

Just wanted to give Celtic credit for last night, 0-3 is no true reflection of the game. I've also never seen so much grappling go unpunished at corners. He booked 4 players over grappling before the kicks were taken but never had the balls to give a penalty. Anyway they had a go. Didn't sit back just Juve were experienced and clinical. Celtic just couldn't break them

What's the thoughts on Lennon's team selection?

Can't really fault the team selection to start with, Ambrose was a gamble that back fired but apart from that I think the team gave everything - on another night Commons would've scored and we might have got at least one deserved penalty.

Glad we gave it a go rather than sit back and wait.

The thing I found a joke was that Hooper and Brown were booked for being fouled and in Hoopers case persistently fouled.


The Ambrose decision backfired, Forrest had an off night and I also though that Forster, as I said on Saturday, didn't look 100% fit. I though that Lustig, Wanyama and Izzy were superb.

Mulgrew is and never will be a midfield player.

So we now have 3 people either high up in the new club or the previous club admitting that Rangers died and it is a new club.

Should have played a back 3 of Lustig,Wilson and Mulgrew. Matthews and Izzaguire would have been our width. Ambrose shouldn't have played. Mulgrew in midfield never works.

The general Scottish media's lack of proper investigation into Rangers' business was a disgrace.
