They are the outtakes to make a funny video ripping it out of the squad.

Unless you are suggesting that most footballers in the EPL, when stuck in front of a camera, get everything right first time?
?
True...you probably wouldn't be allowed to take the P of the big names in the Premiership either.

Strathclyde Police have released a statement saying the group was about to stage an illegal procession and didn't dissipate when asked to.

Video from this afternoon - seems to be a rather large number of officers considering the numbers involved.

An unbelievable turnaround. Celtic were absolutely terrible for large periods of that match but still managed to get a result. Aberdeen will feel like they threw it away

Strathclyde Police have released a statement saying the group was about to stage an illegal procession and didn't dissipate when asked to.
So instead they get kettled by upwards of 100 officers who refuse to let them move anywhere and who then intimidate them and hit them with batons whilst the police helicopter is in the sky and there are multiple riot vans and police dogs there.

Do the GB have a history of violence that made the police think it may turn violent?

This will have cost tens of thousands of pounds, all to intimidate some football fans and try and make sure their budgets stay as high as possible.

Certain Celtic fans do, yes.

It's not for the police to decide what group a set of fans is associated with.

Do the Green Brigade have a history of violence?

This isn't the no mark CSC who appear once a season but disappear as soon as a decent mob appear.

After the FAC demo at George Sq the Green Brigade section on Celtic Park was targeted by police the same day. The vast over policing today is just a way of the police getting back at the Green Brigade after they published the details of Tommy McCrindle's Facebook page where he slagged off the Celtic support.

If I am just paranoid then maybe you could answer why previous corteos, with far greater numbers, haven't been policed in a similar manner?

This one is done about those currently facing charges so are banned from Celtic Park, lets see how many actually get convicted, and in the wake of the Tommy McCrindle stuff and the police are all over it like a rash and drawing batons and hitting folk.

To summarise:

A group of people with their faces hidden attempt to hold an illegal march and are stopped by the police.
A 14 year old in a wheelchair "nearly" got knocked over.

An eyewitness said " I have never seen anything like it .... and I witnessed the Piccadilly and London riots"

These people should get on with supporting the club and leave the rest of the crap behind.

On the pitch, why do we have to create 20 chances to score a goal yet the opposition look like scoring every time they run at our defence?

Great game to watch though!

They smash up Tynecastle every time they come, if that counts.

Would you like to present the evidence to back up your claim?

Well, I've no way of telling who's Green Brigade and who's not, but Celtic at Tynecastle has become poisonous in recent times, and it was never that friendly to begin with. Behind the away end was littered with remains of seats after the last one.

On the Kerrydale street forum there were posts saying the GB charged the stewards/police at the game where Lennon got decked.

But you claimed they smash up Tynecastle every time they visit, now you claim you don't know who the GB are???

Seems you forgot to answer the question.
What, the question of where the "Green Brigade" have been violent?

I'd already answered it. Certain Celtic fans have been violent (it happened at Dens on Boxing Day) and it's not for the police to decide what particular group a gathering of fans belongs to.

So you have absolutely no evidence that the Green Brigade 'smash up' Tynecastle then? Good of you to admit your mistake so quickly,

Of course it is.

If the police find a group of casuals walking about a city they will treat them differently to the way they would treat a group of 'scarfers'.

The police treat different groups of fans in different manners.

And when it's a proper subset of "scarfers" that have caused trouble in the past?

When there's no specific characteristics to identify a particular gathering, the police can only assess what's in front of them. When the group then do themselves no favours by refusing to dissipate on the instruction of the police, it's to be expected that they're given more attention.

Well, I'm guessing the hundreds of police are there for a reason?

The irony of of the GB is of course they are an anti establishment group, representing Celtic who are the Scottish football establishment.

200 officers, mounted and riot police along with a chopper for a group of non-violent fans going to a game en-masse.

I'll remember that next time I phone the police and be told there is no one available.

Proof of the pudding will be in the conviction rate - I'd hazard a guess not many of the arrests will make it to court.
